The food was great in Blu and fine in the regular restaurants Tuscany, etc. You won’t be disappointed, we did not eat in any restaurants that were not part of our package.
I am a desert person and was disappointed in the desserts as they were dry for my taste, but that is a personal thing. The buffet was ok.

I’m planning my Alaska cruise now. Great footage! May I ask what you thought of the food and service on that ship? It’s what I want to take but I’ve heard iffy things about the food. TY

@@goombakisses7398 I found the food in the Blu Restaurant and the specialty restaurants to be great, however others in my group were more picky. The Buffett was not as good as I remembered from years ago but still had lots of choices.

I’m heading to Alaska on Celebrity Edge in May 2026, Aquaclass. I understand that you can’t reserve Blu in advance. Did you find Blu crazy busy for breakfast and dinner? I’m getting mixed responses when I google. I’ve booked 3 shore excursions with Celebrity and plan on doing a private Misty Fjord plan trip in Ketchikan.

@@LornaShields-n1b I did not find any issues with waiting in the Blu Restaurant. The service was awesome and the cruise was awesome!

Ive just begun researching for an Alaskan cruise and many folks have said that they are some of the most crowded, especially since the outside spaces on the boat aren’t always usable. Did you find this to be true?

@@marceehampton2269 Yes the Alaskan Cruises are full as it is a very popular trip and for good reason. Our Celebrity ship opened the Indoor Pool up to all to make up for cooler weather and less used pool deck. With the excursions we had, we rested in our cabin a lot with our large window.
But outside of the shows and elevators, I do not recall any major hassles. Just plan to get you everything early and it is fine.

Depends on the weather. Seriously look at Princess and HAL. They have access to the best glaciers and excursion packages. HAL has far more spaces inside the ship to view scenery, their ships are well designed for cold weather. Personally, I'd rather take a Celebrity Solstice class ship in Alaska but if you're on a suite on an Edge ship (Edge, Apex, Beyond, Ascent) you get access to front viewing. The Solstice class (Solstice, Eclipse, Equinox, Silhoutte, Reflection) has a big lounge in the front of the ship with big windows but the Edge class ships do not. That's the advantage, plus some others IMO. But, they aren't the latest, newest Celebrity ships if one prefers that.
