Hello John, Thank you for your kind words and thank you for watching our videos. We’ll be doing more cruises review soon. We are going to Alaska again in August with the Royal Princess and hopefully to Mexico with Disney cruise soon as well..have a fun and safe vacation.
I’m not sure why the ships stop in Victoria at night. What’s there to do there? The butchart gardens are closed already and that’s one of the major highlights of Victoria
Hello There, That is the same question I asked myself many times. I remember years ago, maybe 6-7 years, we used to arrive in Victoria at around 4pm but now everything has changed. The Butchard Garden is still open when we arrive. My Aunt and my mom were able to take that tour...they did say that it was better in the afternoon than at night..
@@exploringwithcindyanddan I’ve noticed that NCL comes to Victoria at 7pm for Approximately 3 hrs so that just seemed really late. I’ve been to the gardens before and it takes some time to see that and the downtown area. Just seemed like a waste of a port day on the intinerary
Yea, I agree with you. That’s the reason why in the past 3-4 cruises to Alaska we didn’t get off the ship and we noticed that a lot of passengers don’t get off the ship either. Hopefully, the cruise lines will realize that and change their schedules ..
all foreign flag ships have to make at least one stop in a foreign country. Most cruises are foreign flagged to get favorable employment laws/regulations.
Hello Krista, In Skagway we like to do just a self-guided walking tour of downtown, Skagway has multiple museums that should be open by now but the best thing to do in Skagway is the White Pass and Yukon railroad, the views are amazing. In Juneau if you have the extra money for excursion, we always recommend the Helicopter rides to the Mendenhall Glacier, it’s amazing. The Whale watching for $190 is also very interesting as you can see orcas and humpback whales up close. If you don’t want to spend too much money you could do the Mendenhall Glacier for $50
In Ketchikan, the Totem Bight State park and Ketchikan highlights excursion is pretty good for $50 but the Totem park and lumberjack excursion is even better for $85
I will really suggest to do the Helicopter ride to the glacier , it’s amazing I believe you can do that in Skagway as well as Juneau. My husband used to flight helicopters in Juneau for the cruise lines excursions and he loved it. Thank you for watching our videos, we are just 19 days away to our next Alaskan cruise this season with the Royal Princess..have fun!
Hello Koa, Excursion prices are the same prices within the cruises. If you do a walking tour or a city tour (1.5hr to 2.5 hrs) they are usually under $100 but if you want to do for example the White Pass railroad or the Glacier helicopter rides, those excursions are much more expensive ($200-$350) but they are worth it. Thank you for watching our videos
Hello There, Yes. For example NCL goes to Alaska until the middle of a October but Princess ends it’s Alaskan season in the middle of September. I personally luge october because it’s less crowded. Thank you for watching our video.
We will be cruising to Alaska with Princess very soon. Thank you for sharing the port information .
