Can't believe anyone gave this a thumbs down. This is one of my fave movies ,I completely wore out my old videotape of it,hehe. Rochester is SO freaking funny- " I'm going back to Mr Benny's,ain't nothing like this ever happen to him" * snicker *
What a super little film! I read a very tattered copy of 'The Jovial Ghosts' many years ago when I was young, I had no idea there were more 'Topper Adventures'! Very happy to find there are 🤗🤗🤗
My name is Deborah Beesmer age 74 these old movies are the only thing I love to watch. They give me in Enjoyment. I wish I lived back then. Deborah Beesmer 8-1-22
I've been watching this for 30 yrs, it's my go to comfort film. Started with recording it on vhs tape that I near wore out until DVDs came out. I own it on vhs, dvd, streaming yet I seem to continually find a TH-cam link to watch, go figure. Least amount of hassle I suppose.
@@jimbeekman4863 ...well, besides the fun movie, it has a great soundtrack . Just hearing the music could have created dopamine for you. I wouldn't doubt you watched it several times a week.
Omg I really enjoy so much watching the old movies specifically topper n topper returns.n topper takes a Trip.I watch it every night. I watch it on my iPhone. Bc I don’t have a TV or internet.I wish I lived back then.
My sisters and I used to laugh so hard at the part with Eddie and the seal. Poor Eddie, he's just a nice guy who doesn't want to be dragged into craziness.
Tidbits/That car they arrived in was a 1936 Mercedes SSK. After 1941, Mercedes never made it again. The dog made his first appearance, his name was "Neal". Joan Blondell was born in 30 Aug 1906-25 Dec 1979: of Leukemia at age 70. Joan had a son & a daughter, She was married to actor Dick Powell & Mike Todd. Liz Taylor husband, who died in plane crash, a year after marrying Liz Taylor, while she was making "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". Carole Landis : ! Jan 1919-5 July 1948. Carole committed Suicide by Seconal at age 29. She was having an affair with Rex Harrison, who refused to divorce his wife. Harrison & his wife both attended her funeral. Carole had no children. Billie Burke died at age 85 of naturel causes. She was well-known for playing the Good Witch, 'Glinda' in the "Wizard of Oz". She was 54 when she played 'Glinda", yet looked much, much younger. Roland Young 11 Nov1887-5 June 1953-Age 65, in New York, of Natural Causes. Last but ABSOLUTELY not least, was Eddie Rochester Anderson-18 Sept 1905-28 Feb 1977, He died of heart disease. He was the first African-American to be a regular role on a national radio program. He had four children. He also played Jack Benny's Valet on Mr. Benny program. I don't think ANY of the 'Topper" movies would have made it WITHOUT Mr. Anderson. If you love the "Topper" movies as do I, I just wanted folks to know the history of the main characters. ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS !!
If I could go back in time and save one person in the history of the world from a sad fate, I would save Carole Landis from death by her own hand. How she could think she had nothing to live for at the age of 29 is beyond anyone's comprehension.
I always enjoyed the Topper movies. I must say that everyone did a splendid job; how ever it was Billy Burke that greatly made it laughable as only she could.
Tidbits/Pasty Kelly-12 Jan 1919-24 Sep 1981, age 71. She passed of a stroke & cancer. She did not have any children nor was she ever married. Miss Kelly considered herself "A Dyke" (her description, NOT mine). She became a lifelong friend of Tallulah Bankhead & also had an affair with Miss Bankhead & actress Wilma Cox. Some of her first roles were with Thelma Todd, until Todd's mysterious death, quite young. Miss Kelly was known as "The Queen of Wisecracks".
She'd never actually met him before getting to Carrington Hall...when they meet in the study, that all got explained. He only sent for her because she was about to turn 21(*scoff*)& the estate, etc was to be turned over to her as per her mothers will,so they had to get rid of her before that happened.

My favorite line was from Billie Burke ~ "You mean you have a room just FOR that?"
Haven't enjoyed a movie for a long time like I did this one. Thank you for posting

Eddie Anderson falls into the water, at 45+, when he surfaces his head is dry. lol.
His head*snicker*, how about the fact that his fur coat is dry?!
Billie Burke always sounded as if she'd just swallowed a small bird.
01:29 - That rifle has a (rare) left handed bolt, yet he shoots it right handed.
Screams 2:17, 12:26, 18:31, 39:21, 1:04:40, 1:10:59, 1:12:02, 1:12:15, 1:12:48, and 1:13:40.
Yes, fun indeed. Just what we need to escape the political drama!
fun
Me too I love this movie of must-have watch to 15 times already. What do they call that big fur coat that guy is wearing
It's a racoon coat. They were a fad in the 1920's so the coat was outdated during this movie, making it even funnier.
Many photos and movies of that Era show men wearing raccoon coats to football games and waving college pennants.

That is one of my favorite screams of all time
1:17:20 LOL!
Omg so wait he tried to steal everything from his not daughter ..how come she didn't know ? Did he take over when she was a baby ?
