Exactly. Gordon throws insults when it becomes necessary, but at the end of the day he doesn't yell them for no reason. That's why he can easily switch between insulting someone and telling them that they cooked a dish perfectly because that's all he needs from them. If it was personal, Gordon would start holding grudges against them, but since it's just professional all that's needed to shut Gordon up is to do the job correctly.

Gordon would make an excellent Marine drill instructor. When I first saw an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, and didn't know much about him, one of my thoughts was did he serve in the Royal Marines, as a drill instructor. Even though he didn't serve in the British military, he still has the attitude, and the bark of a drill instructor. Watching Kitchen Nightmares, and Hell's Kitchen reminds me of the scenes in the first half of the movie Full Metal Jacket with gunnery sergeant Hartman.
People can laugh at this all they want but without people like Gordon Ramsay, people are lost in the abyss. Gordon can take a nobody and make him into a champion.

Gordon would make an excellent Marine drill instructor. When I first saw an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, and didn't know much about him, one of my thoughts was did he serve in the Royal Marines, as a drill instructor. Even though he didn't serve in the British military, he still has the attitude, and the bark of a drill instructor.
Watching Kitchen Nightmares, and Hell's Kitchen reminds me of the scenes in the first half of the movie Full Metal Jacket with gunnery sergeant Hartman.

Criticizing someone for doing a terrible job is one thing, but calling someone dick face is not what I would call professional. Gordon Ramsay insulting these chefs makes for good TV, but if this is what really goes on in the food industry, then I guess a lack of professionalism is standard for that industry.

Due to your past traumas of course you’d react like that but in the kitchen it’s a whole different world.
