    You know what’s crazy is Mercedes cheapening out on the headlights like you used to be able to get projector leds as standard now they downgraded to reflectors which is ridiculously insulting when this vehicle itself is nearly 80 grand

    Thanks guys. I didn’t get a chance to go through all the comments. Just a couple FYIS. You can get the interior AMG package as a separate option. And, you forgot one of the changes for 2024. The inside air vents now are now lined in chrome instead of black. But really, great job and thank you for taking your time going through the 2024 GLE. I also liked it you showed us the detailed base pricing.

    Mercedes is killing it with their new designs, I love the way all their new models look. I will say I’m not the biggest fan of the interiors but whatever I’m never going to own one. The 350 model is the weak link. I don't understand why the U.S. market doesn't get the 300hp version of this engine found in the 350 models in other markets. The GLE 450 is where it would start for me, as the I6 is near perfection. The Lexus RX just doesn't compare once you get out of 4-cylinder land. The BMW X5's I6 is still superior and the X5's facelift has made the X5 far more desirable than before. It's a tough choice between the two. The Genesis GV80 deserves a mention here too as does the new Range Rover Sport if you got the extra coin.

      I agree 💯 The GLE 350’s engine is a let down - a mere 2.0L inline-4 turbo isn’t sufficient for this SUV size

    • @tube7769
      @tube7769 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      agreed. you can definitely tell how weak that is especially when you drive slight uphill on the highway. 2.0 engine replay struggles to accelerate.

      Yep at $78k that motor is VERY disappointing. The interior to me is cold. Plus there is no 4 zone climate control. I thought it was a "luxury" brand? I spec'd one out with air suspension and 4 zone climate control and it was well into the mid $80's. One really has to love Mercedes to buy this overpriced underperforming vehicle.

  • @JakeDrives1

  • @josephpayton9151
    @josephpayton9151 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yall spent half of the driving scene just talking about the powertrains. 6 powertrains in total is a little excessive even by luxury standards. You got 2…4 cylinder options, 2 V8 options and 2 V6’s engine choices (pls correct me if im wrong) I was trying to keep up. It definitely takes a lot of muscle memory to remember all of them. Its good you guys had something to explain all of the engines. It takes a separate video to give all the information on all 6 engines. If you don’t like any of these options than you might as well get an electric vehicle.

    The GLE is very nice and the amount of stuff they offer is like trick a treat or festival. I mean, there is a ABUNDANCE of different options and packages you option on to this. Its kind of crazy ngl. This is only a 350 and and is almost 80k. For 80k I think it should come with the rear climate control and heated rear seats. Then again Mercedes is very option heavy. So you get what you purchase. Definitely lives up to their modo.

    Thank you for this demonstration. I have seen your other video comparing the BMW X5 with the Mercedes GLE 350. I felt from that video that you lean slightly towards the BMW X5. I think I am going to ask you the tough question: If you are to buy a new car for 2024 with same equal options in both cars, which car will be your choice comparing the , options, comfort, power aesthetics and price? Another question, in 2024 both BMW and Mercedes are coming with both models in a plug-in Hybrid, do you think this is the way to go, or is it too early?

    I have been shopping for awhile and the base option @ $62k is nowhere near the highest price choice in SUV’s for entry models. Many cars are over engineered with most of the BS never touched again by owners once they set it up. I like the idea that Mercedes gives you the option to pay only for what you want. I’m still considering other brands so not a fanboy yet.

    $1,700 for that paint color. It isn't evens some special matte paint or something either. That's just a bit silly. Maybe $300 extra but they shouldn't be charging for a different color in the first place. Car pricing is getting absolutely ridiculous. Mercedes just loves to charge insane amounts for anything they can.
    The interior in Mercedes just can't be beat IMO. They're so damn nice inside. It would be a shame to get such a nice/expensive vehicle and only get 255hp. Anything under 350hp just isn't enough for a vehicle like this. The 450 V6 puts out 375 and the V8 in the 580 makes 510 hp! I guess if someone is buying this just to have a Mercedes they wouldn't know the difference or care anyways.

    • @treydrier3169
      @treydrier3169 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah but for $78k you don't even get 4 zone climate control let alone ventilated seats. Air suspension is also extra. That motor is very underwhelming. I'm surprised Mercedes even offers it on a vehicle this heavy. Realistically you're looking at mid to upper $80's for a reasonably equipped GLE with a real motor.

    The driver is meant to be short. Like 5 feet short to make him look big in the GLE which is misleading. I don't like that kind of misrepresentation.

    Honestly its a ridiculous price for what you get. No air suspension and a 2L 4 cylinder motor for $78k. It doesn't even have 4 zone climate control or heated back seats. I'm not impressed with the interior leather and whatever that black trim is. Is wood trim an upgrade? This is disappointing as I have owned 2 prior ML350's. They were in the low 60's for a similar configuration except they had rear seat climate control. There are better options for the price imo. At this point you are truly paying for the name.

      @@Ryan2022 The Mercedes GLE is very nice. I leased 2 of them. This time though I went with a fully loaded Grand Cherokee Summit with air suspension and semi autonomous driving. The GC Summit is hands down my favorite - quiet, comfortable, great McIntosh stereo, etc etc etc. People who don't know and who have never owned one are all full of opinions. As an owner I can tell you its a great luxury SUV with the perfect amount of interior space and luxury.
