wondered how to make a main menu in roblox studio? or how to create a shop which has working GUI? ive made lots of 2024 roblox scripting tutorials about all the different bits of roblox to give you some up-to-date information about all of its properties and events.
my goal is to simply give some insight on how to use the various features and instances roblox studio, and show you some fun stuff you can do with them. thanks for checking out this roblox scripting tutorial :)

It's deadass scary how far ai has come. Imagine twenty years from now seeing the most realistic ai generated video of you committing a crime you never did
I think they'd either make some AI detector or other stuff
But yeah this is horrible
The thing you suggested is probably coming out in 2 years instead, seeing how fast ai is developing
@@Emouse2is that's never coming.
That would never pass, and is already very possible to fake.
@@dascreeb520510 years ago the level of AI we have now was thought impossible with today’s technology. We are decades ahead with AI already. This is a real issue & threat, it’s coming sooner than you think. Even deepfakes have improved to an astonishing level since they were first available.

The team of half life went around real locations taking photos to use as textures. Now it will just be AI generated. Part of the magic of creation gone.
True, Valve was absolutely based, most creative people in the gaming industry, sadly they don't do anything currently.
True, knowing that one of the valve team members using a MTG card for a scrapped idea for cards in mvm is kind of a cool history! Really awesome to think about
I see what you mean but then again no. That would just take much more time and with ai it will be easier
@@1ts3rick but it lacks authenticity, quality, and can come out to not what you exactly want. That’s why the quote “If you want something done RIGHT, you do it YOURSELF.” Exists
I feel like it'll still exist in the same way rotoscoping or other techniques exist as artistic tools. They just give something AI can't directly provide.
byteblox had to say "in the nicest way possible" before saying "AI is just a tool" because he doesn't want the robots to look at this video and hunt him down
Something I don't understand is why people always want them to look better. The appeal is that it looks like roblox. The appeal has always been that it looks and feels like roblox. If I want graphics I'll play an unreal engine game.
Yeah and for some reason roblox is just trying to make better graphics while they could try and give us more liberty, for example, the voice chat is just really bad, its only proximity and you cant change much about it
yeah i was just thinking that, that low quality feeling of the textures is a very aesthetic look and makes eoblox unique if you ask me..
Prespective from a 2007 player (Current Acc 2009). Back in those days, new features were a big deal and got the community really pumped. Even though many players today want the old-school Roblox look and feel (like R6 and retro visuals), during the 2007 - 2015 era, what most players wanted is actually what Roblox is trying to achieve now in terms of graphics and engine stuff. Players always craved better graphics and a touch of realism. They would have loved skinned models, or even just custom asset importing - they always wanted things to look awesome. When packages (bodies) were introduced, they were genuinely celebrated, not mostly frowned upon like they are today. People also ate up stencil Shadows even if they got removed and tbh its one of the few old things I do miss.
Another example is the “Next gen” trend from back then, where people put in a lot of effort to create things that we now take for granted or even dislike for no apparent reason. Things like animated guns, R15 bodies before it was officially made, or even first person arms, crouching, It was all called "Next gen" by the community and every official feature had that hype. I think this current mindset you and a lot have did come around 2015, but I'm not sure as around that time I got Minecraft and completely forgot about Roblox until like, 2020 despite adult things.
And like while many players today want Roblox to revert to its old, retro look, and stick to more poor graphics; many of us who’ve been playing since the early days (me included) actually prefer the direction it’s heading in. Minus the stupid decisions like the removal of Tix and the poor handling of UGC of course.
@@sanikku7359 I miss realistic games when they were impressive and difficult to make in the online lego game. Animation Lab was so cool in 2015, or whenever it was.
6:35, That's not true, the AI only generates Albedo textures, aka color textures, which makes it look bad. There are textures for roughness, metallic, normals, etc. which would make it look way better.
Not to mention it doesn't leave the lighting to the actual engine, it precomputes it which makes it look bad.
It’s also because Roblox limits image sizes to 1024x1024 to save bandwidth.
so technically you could tell it to produce one with no baked lighting

In the hypothetical future when AI takes every single manual labor job, creative jobs would be the only line of work humans have at that point. We can't just let AI take those jobs too
I know some people might say "well it isnt as good as real artists so they wont be replaced" how about in the future when AI improves even more? AI isn't just stagnant in terms of quality, and by the looks of it, it's gonna keep improving more and more rapidly
We're allowing mindless AI to replace actual real human creativity, i dont like it and I dont see a universe where it could possibly be a good thing

we cant have higher quality textures because they want to save on memory space, imagine how many textures are uploaded per second, now times that with their resolution, if it was any higher theyd have 50 terabytes of textures in 20 minutes

To anyone saying this is the end of the world.
Ai image generators are effectively google images, but every image becomes one image.
Obviously it weighs how important each image is, but its really just google images but fancy. That's also why it makes nonsensical mistakes, because it isn't sentient and can't just assume what's right.
that is... just not true
Oh no but it is.@@incription
Although a slightly more accurate description would be a collage generator
yeah but AI can also steal and use copyrighted material, and also other people's works.
@@xen5558 That's what the original post implies, you aren't allowed to just take images off of Google images
This is huge since we had the same exact textures for almost two decades
i some what like the fact that is low quiality textures, as they look like old roblox gear textures, and if you wanna make custom stuff that looks like old roblox textures, its good, for example, the cup really looks like a old roblox texture.
In my opinion, at its core i feel this is a good way to get the point of a texture across for a quick update before putting the time in to make a nice texture later on, it will really help speed up development and still make sense instead of having to go out of your way to create in full every step of the way when you can prioritize the important parts that need to be done. Especially if you have an update schedule.
but ohh noo, for roblox making the shirt resolution any higher quality is disastrous, or maybe letting us wear hq hats with designs that, in r6 look like smeared peanut butter due to the sheer amounts of compression
i think this is both really amazing yet scarily concerning because we (smaller dev groups) will be able to produce more stuff quicker, but this also influences the laziness of making stuff and may make future games 100% relied on AI
"Stuck with new textures... FOREVER?" -squidward if he played Roblox
Solid vid, I think all the generators need to add a feature where you can upload an image and then change that image based on the prompt that you type in.
there should be a sticker or something for if a game didn't use A.I. cause I can guarantee all of the bad scam games will use this and it'll make it easier to find good games
im not surprised they released a tool that actually may be a pretty damn good addition but still limit how many times you can use it.
calling it now, they are gonna make it so that if you have premium you get more uses or some form of "give us your money and you can use this more" option
i hate it when greedy devs want to make money off of their work >:(
Thank you for letting me acknowledge about the Ai assistant in roblox studio it kinda help me to add small features in my game!
It would be cool if they also added a 3d mesh generating ai so you could generate meshes and then also generate textures for it.
that's just going to take more jobs away, so this is going to be hell for me and lots of people who do textures, program, ect. for a living

Have you seen Nvidia and what theyve been working on? They are working on completely replacing programming with ai itself as their programming language.
Ai wont be writing code of other languages, the very ai model itself is gonna be the programming.
Huh
That sounds super vague, what does this even mean?
Im guessing the way this works is that the AI gets multiple pictures of the model from different perspectives, and then it generates multiple images for each view that try to closely resemble each other while using photos of the model as base/boundary. After the process of forming the final texture, all the images are projected onto the model then baked together into one image.
Honestly I'm still not very open to the idea of using AI in creatives to this extent wherein majority of the output comes from the machine than the man. Nonetheless, it's impressive
Eventually Roblox is gonna ruin itself so much that everyone is gonna settle for retrostudio
"models can't have textures that look too good for some stupid reason"
that stupid reason is you're using AI when you could learn how to unfold UVs and apply 4K textures yourself. I get the appeal of using AI for single-dev games but normalizing it this much is not great and aims to jeopardize thousands of people who are going to school so they can do this professionally.
there was a better way to say this bro
Yeah but it doesn't have that same authentic feel of hand created textures.
🗣
exactly
Sounding happy now, great videos as always 🙏
Sad part is you can't apply materials to the terrain editor so we have to make terrain in blender and then apply it to the mesh. Make it so non organic Roblox studio has a long way to go
bro boo hoo you need to actually put WORK in!?!??!
Programmers will probably be the last ones to be replaced… alr i see it can write some killbrick but when it comes to advanced stuff it becomes as dumb as 5 year old baby… plus if you don’t know anything you can’t even give it good prompt so it will probably respon with bad code with “wait()” here and there…
Nice video! But please use an audio plugin called ''De-esser'' so the ''S's'' on your speak like when you say ''something say saws saw'' or idk doesn't make the ''S'' só LOUD!
I think this would be better if the textures were generated with no shading and maybe if normal, metallic, and roughness textures were generated too.
One of the big things with ai generated assets is that theres a chance of the ai generating something very similar if not the same as someone elses work that it used for training. You could get sued for that so they usually say not to do it for your games. Im hoping that roblox used their own assets to train the ai to prevent copyright issues when using this tool
I will stick to the original 2017 textures no matter how much you try to make me
I made a dragon model, and it gives pretty nice texture, even to a whole winged demon model.
Its literally the roblox shadows or lighting that ruins the meshes texture, if you set all the lighting colors to white it will actually show it without roblox's shading
I know it would be crazy complicated but imagine an AI that could generate meshes/3d models, even outside of Roblox Studio
there is one, element x uses it in one of his videos
It already exist
It already exists but it’s not perfect and fixes from someone who knows what they’re doing would still be required
Nvidia has papers on this tech, tho they use a different approach. No one implemented it tho
This is actually a revolutionary use of ai instead of stealing content. You're making content by using robloxs assets instead of something off of the internet.
imagine how much better it would be further if it generated the texture as a PBR material as well with normal maps etc
i mean at least u can tell (at least from what u got the ai to generate) it has some flaws and i feel like the style of the texture is the same so just like ai generated roblox game icons / thumbnails this will just be a useful tool, especially for ideas but if u are serious about making roblox games then no.
I kinda hope roblox removes it tho as it's stupid because of how well developers make games
@@gneu1527why? This helps a ton
The reason why the preview doesn't look like the final texture has nothing to do with the Roblox engine itself. The generation is a two step process. First step is novel view prediction from the input mesh and your prompt (the outputs are the preview images on the left you can inspect) and second is a diffusion step where a neural net generates a final texture from the preview images. This final step varies in accuracy and is much more compute intensive than the first one. That is why the final texture doesn't really look like the preview images. I think in general these tools are already really powerful and will just become better and better...
back in my day we couldn't even upload a custom mesh.
The ai seem to just generate images, then project them into a model. Because they are images they dont have any accurate material simulation ( PBR ) or parallax, or any kind of fancy techniques.
This is actually so cool!
VERY bad for artists, not cool
@@average-wubbox-enjoyer artists can still do a better job, it's likely for people who don't have money to pay an artist. AI can not add many details an artist can take into consideration

Next step is to get AI to create actual parts, if I want to make a Desk with specific instructions and don't want to actually make the whole thing part by part, I can give it specific instructions. I hope for this so I can actually make my own game
Tbh this actually makes making ugc alot easier, instead of wasting hours making the texture you can just get the mesh and use this.

they say AI can never be perfect aswell as it will never be able to achieve High Quality work with a Perfect and High Quality Results, but the fact is "Perfection" are just standers , and AI can easily meet those standers with enought time and developement something that us humans cant considering it abbility to learn and store tons of info and uitilize them on the need, with that its only a matter of time aswell as giving the AI to the wrong hand and 10/20 years of development and i guarantee you that it will be able to take over every possible aspect in this current time to a point where artist and 90% of workers will have they're jobs runned over by AI, unless some regulation been done in place, but i doubt those regulations will help artist

Maybe for the bulk of basic models but if you ever worked on any kind of hero prop (something that is the focus of the game and gets a lot of screen time), you will know that it needs quite a bit of personal touch to make the thing look good. Not to mention the overall art style of the whole game, which just wouldn't be there if you used mostly AI props (you could tweak them but that still requires some art understanding and manual work).
In other words, AI art might look cool at first glance but it generally lacks any kind of depth present in real artworks, which makes it easy to gloss over.

the only reason i could remotely agree with this that they stated in the video was how it could be used for otherwise samey props to make them look a little bit more interesting/different from one another.
However lets be honest we both know all stuff like this will do is decrease the already low average quality of a Roblox game and then bloat the site with soulless shit quickly being churned out to make a buck, all it will do is accelerate this sites decline in game quality and make it harder for actual developers putting real effort into their games to get noticed.

People say that, yet they complain when a game takes too long to develop. AI tools are great when used properly.
In a game dev setting, you would probably want to have an AI tool that can help generate textures, especially if you're building a world with tons of small details.
