29:10 I knew Kratos was agile and quite driven. But now this explains the stamina for that "hero's welcome" he got in Ghost of Sparta
His strength, speed, endurance, agility, reflexes, skill in combat wisdom and will was what made him be a general. But other than being a demigod, he was driven. Commitment, focus and sheer will was what made him most respected and loved in Sparta.

I’ve seen people question what happened to Kratos’s body after he died from being impaled by Ares, I believe that the Body Burner was the one to find Kratos and burn his previously impaled body.
I guess he was right after all 😅

Was also one of the chillest characters with him
He's the first person to enter Pandora's temple
And so, the gods made him immortal to do the job that he's doing now

Those mini-games are like high pressure free throws.
They literally give you 1.2 secs to react to it, but they upped the time the later games but it was a pain knowing you got it right and it still counted as a miss
Those pandora temple cyclops quick is actually to fast than regular cyclops that's why
NGL, I feel bad for the body burner for having to live this purgatory position the gods gave him for his failure. But hey, in the end, at least Kratos helped prove him wrong by retrieving Pandora’s Box, somewhat giving the body burner a sign of relief that the box is finally found and opened much later to help him not think about the box anymore as it’s now in the hands of someone worthy.
"May the Gods grant you strength to conquer the perils that lay before you." You can hear when he says this that he's so done.
You may have already noticed it but, once you enter the Ring Of Pandora, that music will play through the whole game unless you close the application and restart it. It still plays even in the main menu. For some reason, this is not the case in the PS2 version, but I guess the PS3 version has some kind of slow loading time, causing the Ring Of Pandora music to glitch out.
I just replayed my first bought god of war on my old ps2 today and its even the case in the ps2 version. I even have 2 songs playing at one when there are action moments in the temple but from poseidons chamber it seems to stop the double song glitch.
The gate keeper is my favorite character.
He is cool!
And we still don’t know what happens to him in God of war 3 after you kill Chronus

When Kratos died after being impaled, the harpies would've brought his body back to this dude to burn.
He would've acquired his Blades.
Also since he can never die he would still be in the temple in GOW3 and would've been tossed around when Kronos fell

I like the climbing animation in this installment more so than the ones is proceeding games. It's simpler and makes sense despite the graphics and budget limitations. Also, the music and theme of the game feel more like an inquisitive adventure like Sinbad or Jason and the argonauts and even the Odyssey. The consequent ones are good in their own right, but I found them lacking in small things such as the climbing animation with hands instead of stabbing his blades into the wall, the adventurous immersive journey, and especially these small encounters with insignificant people that give it personality. Even more so than the Jason, Perseus, Pieritheus, theseus, hercules and so forth. For despite their fame, they feel slightly less driven and out of place imo. Not entirely but without them this game feels better when the famous Medusa and Minoutar are presented to the player as pleasantly unexpected as they were. This is a Kratos before he was a vengeful monster after gods, despite it being good as well, has more expressions in his stoic face than just the angry one in the proceeding installments. Edit, not saying the future ones are bad, but there is definitely a massive difference in Kratos after gow 2 that influenced future games way too much is what I'm saying.
I miss this game soo much. i sold my ps3 for a ps4 so i cant play it anymore. Man what i wouldnt give to play this again

Playing the og God of War for the first time and i was stuck on the cyclopes for hours coz i used up my spartan rage on a previous encounter. I even ok’d the easy mode choice just to see what i had to do to beat them. They became braindead so that didnt help. I watched this then i managed to beat them on my original spartan save file. Love bro👊

Pandora’s temple. The greatest obstacle on earth. It’s always the same. Just like Archimedes the builder of the statue of Apollo, Pathos Verdes has lost his mind because of the gods.
Trust me while I was playing this game when it prepared me for what is to come. Traps, obstacles and challenges. You do all this well.
Another lesson I took from playing puzzle games is to be careful.
Here u are inside this temple but you’re not the first. Soldiers and the minions of Ares are trying to get the box but can’t. It really looks like Kratos is the smart one who can get the box.
Lastly why don’t you use Artemis blade?

28:41 always loved the background (Or foreground) stuff the devs did in the game. Just *a little way of say to the player; YES THERE ARE OTHER "HEROS" (or well intentioned fools) AND QUESTING ADVENTURERS!* Kinda makes my wish the series didn't go the direction it did...y'know the whole APOCALYPSE drama and all that stuff. *HECK I'd even pay for a number of spinoff games based in Santa Monica studios' interpretation of the "Heroic age" of greek mythos. (look it up)* The idea is you'd play as other obscure figures from greek myths. Remember that *the historic (real world) Kratos was basically an archaic god of strenght that was later replaced largely by Hercules (though some cults no doubt persisted) before being "reborn"* as the KRATOS of today. I mean there isn't just the Olympian gods and the most well known mythic heros, *there's hundreds (more like thousands!) of lesser known gods, non-Olympian gods (but no less powerful), crazed heros, crafty con-artists and MUCH more to draw inspiration from!* I've never understood why people think Greek mythology is played out in media, we've barely scratched the surface folks! What really needs to happen is writers and worldbuilders to *take a break from the familiar gods and figures* and start reinventing some of the other, weird but AWSOME characters from classic myths. If it could be done with Kratos, it could be done with others.
p.s. I'd also pay serious dough for an mmorpg set in Greece's mythic age of heros. players could be demi-gods, (lesser) *mythical creatures or even the lesser classes of gods* like satyrs (often served dionysus) or even nymphs (who are yes goddesses of nature, just less powerful but very numerous, often the daughters of some Titans), *empowered mortal servants* (liken to Kratos was) of the gods or simple very *"gifted" mortals,* who gained abilities like say being able to understand animal speech or developed extraordinary talents to rival gods like, usally in indirect none combat things like being able to play such beautiful music it could 'enchant' even a god (as in entrance them but not outright control them), could be cool!
*note:* On the whole demi-god idea, I can imagen the gods (especially Zeus..) had WAAAY...more half-god kids, certainly we've only heard about his most famous children or atleast the ones whose myths were preserved. (an in-game excuse for players gaining great fame but for some reason their stories never survived into later ages)

I bet when you first started this took you hours of hard work and patience I just beat god of war 3 on chaos mode last night but you truly are a master cuz in my opinion god of war 1 is the hardest but all in all incredible gameplay

Lol me too. I remember I was like 10 when I first played it. Beat it after a few days. The atmosphere in this game is amazing.
Play on PCSX2 emulator. Although it might have some graphic glitches but, yeah, try playing on emulator. I recommend a Gaming PC though, just so it can handle games.

Ok, so I can’t even get past this on normal mode. The medusas completely overrun me and there’s no way I can manage the QTE. Never have issues on the earlier medusas but these.
At 15:35 my game freezes to where my ps3 turns off and I have to unplug it any suggestions?

That weapon is completely broken even before its powered up. You can kill even strong enemies in like 3 swings.
+Key_Of_Destiny47 you can only kill the enemies without armor in 3 swings.

Told no story of his lifetime. He wanted to obtain the box but died trying. Now he is condemned to tend and burn all who followed and died as well. As he said "it was never done you know".
His name is simply, "Body Burner." You can look him up. He's fairly interesting.

Do you think you could give me advice? The save file for the one you spawned at (right at the beginning) won’t load for me. I have another save file for an easier difficulty to see if that was the issue, but every time I cross the bridge, and get to the end it just completely stops. I bought another copy of the game thinking the other one was too scratched, but even when I use the new disc the files won’t load.
