Mohd saleel he just doesn't care lol he is fueled by anger and rage he doesn't care about nothing aside from his revenge but he does change in the new game
KRATOS was always that, HE FUCKING KILLED all of humanity just for this shit , he was never the hero. Just another asshole, you dont remember it like that because when you were younger, you thought it was cool to be selfish
It doesn’t make why would Zeus figuered out that Hephaestus lied to him according to the wiki Pandora’s temple wasn’t fully constructed when Kratos entered it and retrieve the box for instance Pathos the constitutior went insane during sometime the temple construction and eventually killed himself so why would Zeus just blame everything on Hephaestus just makes no sense
Pretty sure the entire reason he gives him the weapon first was so the electricity could course through kratos. Kind of obvious honestly. Why bother trying to kill him? Desperation i'd assume. Kratos already had his doubts after being sent to tartarus and Heph's sudden shift to wanting to help kratos before was pretty suspicious to begin with. I doubt Kratos would have spared him by the end even if hephaestus didn't try to kill him.

For anyone who doesn't know Greek Mythology, in Greek Myth, Ares, the God of War has an affair with Aphrodite, respite being married to Hephastus. Which is what he's talking about at 4:56
GokaikillerTobi Well brok himself said that the blades of chaos (Hephaestus is their creator) compared to mjlnir (thors hammer) are special also what are those?
Out of all of his family members Hephestus wasn't any different cause I do understand his suffering after he's beautiful Pandora taken away, tormenting by Zues, and imprisoning him in hell in a way I felt sorry for him for everything and I know it was never his fault for this to happen.
Now, he does. He actively tries to spare his boi of his sins and violence now because of his regrets. That's part of what I love about his character arc.
*I know this is an old comment but...* Too funny! XD I bet Hephaestus wishes his "faithful" wife was that into it when on their honeymoon...or any other time they did it...
Me: Hephaestus, was it really necessary for you to make Kratos a set of weapons before trying to kill him? Hephaestus: Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No but I do it anyway cause it's sterile and I like the taste
Hey I agree I should have been he makes the electro weapon then you drain zueses power with it and then kill him that hephaestus is a valuable charecter
I think he would’ve died anyway seeing as the Underworld being destroyed and Gaia trampled the rest of Olympus, add to the fact the he couldn’t escape from his prison
Something I have to say I like about Hephaestus’ design in this game, Hephaestus is usually portrayed as large and bulky, despite being born with deformities, his flashback even implies he used to be bigger rather than his skinnier appearance here, which implies to me that Zeus has kept him there for so long that he’s become malnourished
Well they seem to be leaning into other aspects of the mythology, like Hephastus being conventionally unattactative, which was unheard of for Olympians, and that is why Zeus paired Aphrodite with him. Zeus wanted someone who wouldn't...overstimulate Aphrodite's...fertility. Because too many gods are a threat to him.
@@faded9581 Eh? wasn't Zeus laying the pipe with Aphrodite on the regular anyway? not to mention Ares and in some stories many others. Seems to me Zeus was lying about his reasons and prob wanted to keep slamming her without issue so he put her with Hephaestus to make it easy. It would be a very Zeus thing to do too.
@@Archedgar In Homer's Iliad, Aphrodite is Zeus' daughter. But in the Theogeny, Aphrodite grew out of the sea when Ouranos genitals fell into it. I think paternal incest is the one line even Zeus did not cross. But if the latter is true, your theory makes a lot more sense.
Zeus does have an affair with Aphrodite in some versions, but not all. The usual story of how Aphrodite was given to Hephaestus is that Zeus offered Aphrodite to him as payment for Hephaestus to release Hera from a booby trapped golden throne
Isn't weird how all the gods are gigantic, Ares, Hades, Hephaestus, but Zeus is the only one who's as tall as Kratos? did he make himself that small to have be on even footing with Kratos? or is Zeus secretly the shortest of the gods?
Zeus used to be able to change size to make himself gigantic as seen in GOW2 but I think he lost that power after Kratos ran him through with the Blade of Olympus.
Actually as depicted in the mythology the gods are giant benevolent beings. If they reveal their true selves to mortals they'll die from their aura of glory. Their power is so great they emit a glorious aura. That's why zeus hides himself in mortal form whenever he cheats on hera
remember the final fight against zeus in GOW 2, he is fucking huge, so I think the gods can alter their own size, and @ the beginning of GOW 2, kratos is gigantic as well before he tricked by zeus, cmiiw
The gods can willingly change their size and form if they're powerful enough. The final boss battle with Zeus at the end of the God of War II proves this. Zeus alternates between mortal size and huge imposing Olympian god size.
Normally, I wouldn’t even shed a tear when the Greek Gods are brutally murdered but Hephaestus is the only Olympian in the God of War series i feel sympathy for. All he wants is his daughter back from his cruel father, there are very few stories more tragic then that.
4:57 that phrase is a reference of the greek legend of Aphrodite. She was supposed to be the wife of Hephaestus, but she secretly had sexual relations with Ares. so, when he said "has Aphrodite conquered antoher god of war ?", that is directly related to that legend.
I just realized at 8:10 Hephaestus is examining dead Cronos' face, right after Kratos killed him. Hephaestus must've thought "damn is this Cronos? Kratos sure is a tough man to kill". Pretty cool.
7:34, 7:37 Hephaestus got so tired of Kratos' logic that he agreed with Kratos P.S. I believe he did that coz he realised that he cannot change Kratos' way about Pandora, so he decided to play smart and send him to Kronos to get Kratos killed
Kratos hasn’t changed much in the new game.He still hates gods in general,it’s just the gods he holds responsible for the death of his family are dead.
I felt bad for Hephaestus. Beaten, lost his wife, his daughter taken away and lived in hell shunned by his own kin. You can tell Kratos felt no grudge against him but in the end he felt betrayed and had to do what he needed to be done. I honestly wish he could’ve been spared.
Funnily enough, Hephaestus here is voiced by the late Rip Torn. The same man who would play Zeus in Disney’s Hercules. And Corey Burton, who plays Zeus in the God of War series, also played Zeus in the Disney Hercules cartoon series. The more you know..
"I have done you no wrong Hephaestus!" You literary just slept with his wife. Edit: If I remember correctly Kratos can choose not to be an asshole and not sleep with Aphrodite. But let's be honest, most people did.
Hephaestus and aphrodite already divorced and he remarried to aglaia goddess of Beauty and glory and in some myths hephaestus and aphrodite never married
Considering that he wants to save her daughter. I think Hephaestus was trying to control Kratos with his power through that weapon. Maybe finish him off after saving Pandora.
Reginald Ditto The weapon would be charged from the electricity from Hephaestus' ring, thus when he touched it it began to electrocute Kratos hoping it would kill him but it would seriously take more then that to do it.
Hepheastus's plan was to 1: Send Kratos to his certain doom against Cronos. When that failed he improvised 2: Make a pair of masterful weapons Kratos would accept without question, then turn on him. 3: Oh s**t that didn't work! Just hit him!
Agreed i remember back in 2010 when i traded my Xbox 360 for a PS3 and i was so impressed by the visuals and it really proved that the PS3 was by far the most powerful console of the 7th gen
Hephaestus is the only god I felt sympathetic for and actually quite liked. He is the only god in my opinion that has a backstory that I makes you feel for the character. The story makes Hephaestus seem like a good guy. You can see that he does care for his daughter and loves her. And yeah him trying to kill Kratos was kinda dumb but he was just trying to protect his daughter. He couldn’t have stood by and let Kratos kill his daughter
its why Kratos doesnt hold any grudge against Hephaestus for trying to kill him since being a father himself at one point, he understands why he tried. if he was in Hephaestus position & found out somebodys trying to kill his daughter to further his own gain, he woulda tried to do the same

Of course he would be doing things like that.
7:00 can we take a minute to analyse the savagery of the beating Zeus is giving Hephaestus, plus look at the damn effect he looks like Zeus punched all the fat out him and blinded one of his eyes
Ok
Incredible performance by the voice of Hephaestus
Rip Torn, who, believe it or not, played Zeus in Disney’s Hercules
i like how kratos used sarcasm with hephestus, these two talk as though they are actually friends
well... as far as kratos would let someone be his friend XD
anyone else laugh when kratos said "that is a question you should ask your wife"
Phantom-Oblivion
Dah fuck kind of friendships you're used to having?
Hephaestus is also one of the the few gods that wasn’t an asshole
They share a hatred for Zeus, so common ground.
@Michael Carnevale Hephaestus did nothing wrong to him until he tried to kill him. Kratos doesn't hate every god as long as they don't get in his way
Why does Kratos look like a spoiled brat who doesn't take no for an answer "ever". I don't seem to remember him like that. "I did what had to be done!" *looks away in self-pleasure*
AplusBeats my thoughts exactly, let's hope in the sequel they change his character, here he just sounds like a spoiled teenager.
- don't kill my daughter, kratos.
- fuck you i'll do whatever i want
Seriously what the hell was that, maybe we were too young to notice this before
Mohd saleel he just doesn't care lol he is fueled by anger and rage he doesn't care about nothing aside from his revenge but he does change in the new game
Mohd saleel he's a dad now
“Self pleasure”
KRATOS was always that, HE FUCKING KILLED all of humanity just for this shit , he was never the hero. Just another asshole, you dont remember it like that because when you were younger, you thought it was cool to be selfish

Just wathed to Save his daughter
But it woulded be kratos if he not brutaly kills everyone
RIP english
Ledor Bloodraven I felt bad for him too but did Kratos have a choice in this situation?
@@almighty_demon_slayer9563 Hephaestus deffinitely did have a choice, and he chose wrong.
@@Lonewolf-jv5yo because he a dick
“here Kratos, kill me with this!”
WTH!?!!

There was no need to call someone an idiot unless you’re so sadomasochistic you want a beating for your rudeness.
For anyone who doesn't know Greek Mythology, in Greek Myth, Ares, the God of War has an affair with Aphrodite, respite being married to Hephastus. Which is what he's talking about at 4:56
How does he get any work done cramped up like that?
Guess that's what being a godly smith can do for you.
@kataki HAHA god level skills
KatakiDoragon brok and sindri put him to shame
Why would he make him a super weapon if he intended to kill him?
GokaikillerTobi
Well brok himself said that the blades of chaos (Hephaestus is their creator) compared to mjlnir (thors hammer) are special also what are those?
Out of all of his family members Hephestus wasn't any different cause I do understand his suffering after he's beautiful Pandora taken away, tormenting by Zues, and imprisoning him in hell in a way I felt sorry for him for everything and I know it was never his fault for this to happen.
Rest In Peace Rip Torn the voice actor of Hephastus God of war 3 (1931-2019) age 88 cause of death Alzheimer’s disease
Fun and ironic fact: Hephaestus's voice actor is the same one who played Zeus in Disney's Hercules movie
Kratos is the kind of douchebag who sees people actions but never his own
Adi Rubaei He was cursed to see himself killing his family for eternity. Clearly he has seen quite
He does
That’s basically what the very ending of 3 is about
Now, he does. He actively tries to spare his boi of his sins and violence now because of his regrets. That's part of what I love about his character arc.
Clearly you don't know Kratos

Mr. Handel-Bar he made those weapons to be a conduit for his lightning attack.
Urine isn’t sterile...
Is that a Patches O'hulahan reference?
@@yadfaraidoon9977 yes it is

Hey I agree I should have been he makes the electro weapon then you drain zueses power with it and then kill him that hephaestus is a valuable charecter
Excuse me I mean that way he is a valuable charecter
Yeah too bad Cory barlog didn't direct this. They didn't have to kill him
I think he would’ve died anyway seeing as the Underworld being destroyed and Gaia trampled the rest of Olympus, add to the fact the he couldn’t escape from his prison
0:29 the way his voice changes
Isn't weird how all the gods are gigantic, Ares, Hades, Hephaestus, but Zeus is the only one who's as tall as Kratos? did he make himself that small to have be on even footing with Kratos? or is Zeus secretly the shortest of the gods?
Hermes and Helios aren't that big either. Poseidon as well.
"A weapon such as this can't be rushed."
He crafted it in 20 seconds. How is that "can't be rushed"?
well when you're the god of smithing, I'd assume he's pretty good at it. he could probably do anything else in under 5 seconds.-

That's Rip Torn who also voiced Zeus in Disney's Hercules and played as Agent Zed from Men in Black.
RIP Rip Torn! May your works and talents live on!😢 6/9/19.
Normally, I wouldn’t even shed a tear when the Greek Gods are brutally murdered but Hephaestus is the only Olympian in the God of War series i feel sympathy for. All he wants is his daughter back from his cruel father, there are very few stories more tragic then that.
8:16 "YOU SENT ME TO MY DEATH" gets me everytime 😂
Especially that it is a question. He still trusts Heph to assume that he would answer honestly.
4:57 that phrase is a reference of the greek legend of Aphrodite. She was supposed to be the wife of Hephaestus, but she secretly had sexual relations with Ares. so, when he said "has Aphrodite conquered antoher god of war ?", that is directly related to that legend.
The sound of haphaestus's last breath. Sends chills down my spine.

Kratos: I thought you would have escaped this cavern by now

I just realized at 8:10 Hephaestus is examining dead Cronos' face, right after Kratos killed him. Hephaestus must've thought "damn is this Cronos? Kratos sure is a tough man to kill". Pretty cool.
8:19 you can see Cronos nose and lips.
They are related after all.
Even that Blue spike thingy lodged into his jaw.
7:59 the correct answer was “the retribution you seek”, Hephaestus.
R.I.P Rip Torn

yeah he only wanted to see his daughter again but never could
Fun fact: This and along with Pandora is one of the deepest regret that Kratos had.
7:34, 7:37
Hephaestus got so tired of Kratos' logic that he agreed with Kratos
P.S. I believe he did that coz he realised that he cannot change Kratos' way about Pandora, so he decided to play smart and send him to Kronos to get Kratos killed
Even though he tries to kill Kratos, I still felt bad for Hephaestus. He was just trying to protect his daughter.
4:20 one of my favorite moments of the game.

Amazing
I felt bad for Hephaestus. Beaten, lost his wife, his daughter taken away and lived in hell shunned by his own kin. You can tell Kratos felt no grudge against him but in the end he felt betrayed and had to do what he needed to be done. I honestly wish he could’ve been spared.
Calm yourself, smith god.
Fun fact: The voice actor who played Hephaestus also played Zues in Hercules (rip torn)
Funnily enough, Hephaestus here is voiced by the late Rip Torn. The same man who would play Zeus in Disney’s Hercules.
And Corey Burton, who plays Zeus in the God of War series, also played Zeus in the Disney Hercules cartoon series.
The more you know..
I never realized that cronos was behind the smith after you killed him. Neat detailing.
"I have done you no wrong Hephaestus!"

Edit: If I remember correctly Kratos can choose not to be an asshole and not sleep with Aphrodite. But let's be honest, most people did.
You have too though..for an achievement I mean..
@Justin Gary You don't understand the reference...?
Hephaestus and aphrodite already divorced and he remarried to aglaia goddess of Beauty and glory and in some myths hephaestus and aphrodite never married
The actor who voices Hephaestus is voiced by Rip Torn who voiced Zeus in the 90s animated Hercules movie
8:12
It took 9 years and someone else pointing it out for me to notice that THAT IS CRONOS' CORPSE RIGHT NEXT TO THEM
“This will be worth the wait”
*makes the thing in like 6 seconds*
why even make the weapon?
Yeah, I didn't get that. I know he probably used the stone for that electric current but still, he ended up helping Kratos a lot more than himself.
Considering that he wants to save her daughter. I think Hephaestus was trying to control Kratos with his power through that weapon. Maybe finish him off after saving Pandora.
4:09,what the hell....
Reginald Ditto The weapon would be charged from the electricity from Hephaestus' ring, thus when he touched it it began to electrocute Kratos hoping it would kill him but it would seriously take more then that to do it.
Hepheastus's plan was to
1: Send Kratos to his certain doom against Cronos. When that failed he improvised
2: Make a pair of masterful weapons Kratos would accept without question, then turn on him.
3: Oh s**t that didn't work! Just hit him!
Hephaestus: ''Kratos?"
Kratos:"You sent me to my death!"
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SCENE🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Agreed i remember back in 2010 when i traded my Xbox 360 for a PS3 and i was so impressed by the visuals and it really proved that the PS3 was by far the most powerful console of the 7th gen
Wonder what Brok and Sindri would've thought of Hephaestus?
Brok would roast him 24/7 and Sindri would be cleaning him through out the whole game.
They would worship him.
Hephaestus: "Well, as long if it's only one Olympian!"
Hephaestus: XD
Kratos: "I seek the Flame of Olympus. Do you know of it?"
Hephaestus: °___°
I like how kratos has a sense of humor and actually converse instead of just grunting like he does in God of war and Ragnarok
He's the only god I killed that I felt bad for. Rip Torn did an excellent job with this role!
Before you kill hephestus you can see something that looks an awful lot like cronos behind him that's not there before
Hephaestus is the only god I felt sympathetic for and actually quite liked.
