I've just re discovered YSL Kouros again..bought a bottle of it a couple of weeks ago and to me even the new formulation is great..lasts all day still on my skin and keeps developing in different ways throughout the day..man I'm never going to be without kouros again in my collection

Thank you Chris. To me, it's a very refined blend, very satisfying reformulation/adaptation. Tom Ford "a la Française", I understand very well why the public that he has now do not like M7 as it's not as excessive.

As I write this I am wearing a clone of the original M7 called D7 by Dua. It is quite enjoyable. But this week I also bought the current version you have in your hands at an online auction and am waiting for it to arrive next week. I feel here in the West that Oud frags are a bit challenging for the average nose. That's why I sought out M7 because I wanted something a bit more edgy, but still socially acceptable for the cooler weather. It might be that the original would still be a bit much for me and my wife. But I don't have that kind of extra cash around to find out. Glad I finally found your review. Peace
I love DUA and this is why I'm here because I'm researching D7 by DUA. How do you like it now? Is it a cold weather fragrance? Right now I'm in Texas where the temps are 90+, would you say it's not a warm weather scent? What's your take...
@@Mysticlees the current M7 by YSL is a western take on oud. To me it is also labdanum/ ciste bomb eith patchouli and myrrh. I love labdanum. The oud is present but it's very smooth 😎. I feel it's definitely a cooler weather scent, but since it has no amber, I've worn on hot days occasionally. It is rich though and not for jeans and a t-shirt. I was not overly impressed with the D7 but it might be a bit smoother than the M7 .
Cool review, but sorry to say this version of M7 is the pale copy of the original M7 by ysl ! That's why the vintage flankers are at sale for 600$ on eBay! Ysl policy is pretty weird this was renamed M7 oud Absolue & now it's again called M7? But the scent isn't the same for our sorrow🤔 thanks🙏
Also apparently the new formula that you have there is the best blend of all of the M7 formulas, and the classic formula from the early 2000s was a bit rough and divisive by comparison. I've never smelled the classic formula, but I do agree that the new one is smooth and I don't think very difficult to pull off at all, especially for an oud fragrance.
I love it, I have a bottle of the "Oud Absolute", like the one you have and it smells great and very sophisticated. It doesn't have any real oud in it but it does have that designer "clean oud" note which smells more like smoky wood chips or something. Honestly it just smells like a really well done piece of classical masculine perfumery with a more modern twist. Think 70s powerhouse, but with that smoky oud note and that's kind of what you get with this.
I bought this one but I regret, to me it doesn't smell like oud and it has a baby powder scent. Reminds me an old woman. Try Versace Oud Noir and tell me what you think. That Oud Noir is really good.

This took me some time to get it...but its amazing. YSL/Gucci era of Tom Ford is pure gold

Acqua di Parma Oud is great. An italian interpretation. My fovourite Oud Fragrance.
One of my preferred fragrances. Probably the best.

I do not think it's Oud absolute is the one with 2002 written on the bottle. But I don't know if the formulation is different.

Versace Oud Noir smells very much like Tom Ford's Oud Wood.

Bought a 100ml of this when it was new to the market. Hated it. Too Powdery. M7 Fresh was far easier to wear.
