Just a heads up - if you're looking for the best possible alternative to the original M7 from 2002 (in terms of depth and potency, albeit with a small twist on the scent profile) - it's Sand Aoud by Mancera. I've recently released a full review on it.
The first spray of this I tried I was taken aback from how "classical" it was - extremely masculine and intense I thought I'd be passing it on. But since then it's all I can think of and now I absolutely LOVE the smell.
Absolutely fantastic scent.
Great comprehensive breakdown. I have the older version with the OUD ABSOLU written on the bottle. It's very oily and medicinal. I also had the original version, but gave it to my dad because it was too mature for me at that time.
My dad went through it quick and asked me for another bottle around the time it was being discontinued. Ironically, my uncle gave it to me when I was 16 and starting my fledgling collection. Also, my uncle (72) still has the ORIGINAL sitting on his dresser and doesn't even realize how iconic it is.
When I got older, I bought the ABSOLU version and gave my dad (67) a bottle. He still wears even today.
The original from 2002 and my version are very similar, but the original is deeper, slightly sweeter and more well rounded. Oh Yea, the juice is thicker/oilier than my ABSOLU version.
I wonder how much maturation has played a part in the better performance of the original 2022 bottle. I would love to get my hands on one... maybe one day.
I hope your uncle realizes what a gem he is sitting on and protects that bottle the way it deserves!

Yes I had the 2002 version on the brown bottle and I own the 2021 version and I absolutly agree whit you.... the original is deeper, slightly sweeter and more well rounded, but 95% are the same in dry down.

I just got this today and thought I got the old M7 as the photos were of the black bottle that said Oud absolute m7 . Beautiful scent and refined . Well blended indeed
The Oud is very mild as in most frags at least to me as I have raw oils from multiple artisanal curators of exotic ouds. This has a similar vibe as safari extreme but toned down to be more versatile. Great job on the clarification of the bottles and frag review!
It is a phenomenal scent. Although the Oud is definitely mild, I still detect a slight animalic tinge in the dry down. Such a unique scent.

You are missing the second formulation. It was released around 2007-8 and had the red bottle but only on one side. Instead of a totally red glass borrow it was clear with a silk screen red side. It was also way watered down and didn't possess the cherry cough syrup dr pepper opening. I have all of them and nothing touches the original

I have the 2002 M7 batch, i bought a couple before getting discounted I'm down to my last bottle, i had people offering to buy it, i will not sell it I just can't live without smelling it, it is perfection in a bottle, when the M7 oud absolu came out i remember i was so happy, i went to the shop sprayed it on, i have never felt insulted like that before, how dare they do that to an art a masterpiece, it's like me spraying over a painting and say there you go now it's more hip, it makes absolutely no sense that they would do that, just release the original batch from 2002 and double or triple the price (it used to be 17-20 on discount, 27-35 retail) i hope someone clone it, it's just a shame so many people can never experience the original M7, there are some fragrances I can't live without fortunately many of them are still being sold, i got the Gucci pour homme, yes it's fucking amazing but it's not even close, if Armaf will dupe it i will send them 5ml max
Maybe the fact that your original bottle has been maturing for over 20 years has something to do with the difference between that and much more recent bottles.
@@realscentreview nope, they different fragrance different scent just same name, and mine turned out to be the 2003 or 2004 batch, i contacted both Armaf and Lattafa if they want to clone it since I live less than an hour from Armaf factory and like 15 minutes from lattafa both have zero interest unfortunately
Youre talking absolute nonsense! The original M7 amd at least the very newest iteration of M7 are the EXACT SAME. I cant speak for the Oud absolu version because ive never had it. But the newst M7 from 2021 is the exact same as the old 2002 fomulation.
@@atourdeforce you know i went today to check the new M7 and soon as i smelled it I remembered this comment, andi got the original discontinued M7, they smell nothing absolutely nothing alike, I don't know if you did a comparison or just made that shit out of your ass but they smell nothing alike, the new m7 is good, but nothing like the old M7, I'd do a check-up if i was you, something wrong with your nose or ass or brain or something
So many reviewers don't seem to understand the nature or the *origin* of Oud -- It comes from and is found *only* in the hottest places on the planet, but they want to say 'it's recommended to wear Oud only in the fall, winter, or spring and not in the summer'.... WTF?!?!

The best in Acqua di Parma Oud ,fresh oud unique end versatility
Very underrated brand with high-quality and great-smelling colognes, but the poor performance just does not justify the extreme prices for me.

Ive been buying M7 since around 2004, ive had multiple of the original bottles and i wish i kept one soo bad.
Ive nrver tried the Oud Absolu, but i can guarantee anyonr buying the newest version that just ssys M7 that it is the EXACT same as the old original one from years ago..
I cant for the life of me understand how people dont realise its the exact same scent.
I genuinely think its just snobs trying to look like they have a superior nose and knowledge of scents so they mske up nonsense pretending like they are able to detect differences.
I promise any of you who havent been lucky enough to smell both, they are the EXACT SAME.
This has always and will always be one of my favourite winters scents because its the most unusual smell out there. Theres simply nothing like it.
