I agree with the last comment. I played around with the sensor light that was yellow to no change. It’s cleaner now than I’ve ever seen it but my problem was something to do with the remote. I gently cleaned off the inside of the remote, and then it started working again. One of the sensor lights remained yellow as it started to work again.

This entire video should be taken down and rewritten. He is completely off the mark about this applying to all brands and as far as a yellow light being a problem. My Chamberlain emitter is NORMALLY yellow and receiver is NORMALLY green. A yellow indicator is NOT an issue and has people needlessly changing door sensors in a effort to get rid of a yellow indicator!

Question, about 6 months ago I had a motion light installed outside of my garage, 2 times in the past month I woke up in the middle of the night the light was on, and the garage door was open. I close the door and the motion light outside the door goes out. The light is mounted above the garage door on center, outside. Can the motion light somehow trigger the garage door to open??

so my sensors are okay, but suddenly, the craftsman garage door opener stopped operating, and the yellow led is slowly blinking, why suggestions? Both the yellow and green lights should be steady on. If the sensors are not aligned properly, the green light will blink or be off entirely. The yellow light never blinks.

  • @RimfireAddicted70

No no no! A yellow light on one side is correct and normal. One side will be green the other yellow or red depending on brand. A yellow light does NOT mean malfunction or miss alignment. A blinking light means alignment issue or wiring issue. Aligning the sensors will not change the light's color please correct your info!

You just saved me a lot of time. Walked out to go to work and the garage door wouldn’t close with my clicker. Saw one green light, one yellow light, assumed it was misaligned or wiring went bad. Saw your comment immediately and realized it was the clicker!

    • @bigdog8008

@@thekbops Original presenter said this works with any opener - Liftmaster, Chamberlain or Genie. That is incorrect. With a yellow light on a current Chamberlains - there is no fix, it isn't broken. The emitter (sending unit) has an amber LED that is always lit, the receiver (receiving sensor) has a green LED. If the light beam is interrupted, the receiver will start blinking. This interruption can be an object or dirty/misaligned emitters/receivers.

I’ve a Legacy garage door opener. It opens fine. But, when trying to go back down to close it. It gets all the way to the very bottom almost about 1’ left & then starts to go back up. I believe it has something to do with sensors being off? But, looking at how the light is red” on one side & green on the other the sensors both seem to be aligned fine. No blinking. Could this be a adjustment issue or spring? I had to recently changed the capacitor do to it smelling like electrical smoke & sounding like it was frying.
I’m lost at this point now as what to do next?

Contacted Chamberlain customer service: Hmm. Not sure why its doing this with the app and not remote as this typically is due to a sensor issue. Lets try resetting the sensor
      To reset:
      1. Remove the wingnut holding the sensor with the green LED
      2. Point the sensor to the floor for about 10 seconds (LED will go out)
      3. After 10 seconds bring the sensor back into the bracket getting the LED to go back solid then re-install the wingnut
      4. Try closing the door from your remote (not the wired wall button) and see if the door now closes or still reverses back open with the light bulbs flashing
