This studio concert is epic. I first found Lovebites in early 2021 by typing "live rock music" into the youtube serch bar and I found them (Lovebites) playing Shadowmaker from this concert. Miyako did a piano arrangement of this song. I don't think I have ever heard Haruna do a drum solo in one of their own songs, this cover proves that she is totally capable to do so. Love the background image, I would hang that on my wall.
I had not heard the original Helloween song before until I watched LOVEBITES play it live. I only know a couple of songs from Helloween because the videos were played on music channels. I have tried to buy the DVD of the full show but it's hard to find. I suggest you watch Miyako 's solo piano cover of the song. You guys always have great reactions. Hi, you two, thanks for bringing us this awesome cover version. It's VERY close to the original, which was first released by Helloween on their 1988 "Keeper of the seven keys pt. 2" album. According to an interview with guitarist Michael Weikath I remember reading many years ago, he wrote it specifically with a mind to give their bassist and drummer a chance to shine, hence the bass- and drum solos.

I immediately went to the record shop and the first song I listened to was this amazing song Eagle fly free. And now hearing the song from Lovebites is like hearing it the first time. Weird... Fell like I had the same dream. And there was this guy... His face was all burnt, and he had a weird hand, with like, knives for fingers... Oh well! I'm sure it'll be fine! Anywho! That was such a cool thing to witness!..The individual solos we're all badass and Miho was busy on that bass the entire song... only time she got to chill was during the choruses...Haruna is a Giant behind those drums...they all kick so much ass! ... Helloween is one of Haruna's most loved bands and as you can tell she really loves this song. Lovebites does this song more than justice and Miho is the bobblehead of the band with her 500+ metal tee collection (wearing Metallica here). This was the LIVE show for the fans when COVID had shut everything down. Love Midori who looks like she is either coming from or going to a ball. M&M here are just sensational as usual but Miho really gets some shine time along with Haruna something that is a rarity for the band.

And since you loved the drumming so much: These incredible drum parts were created by Helloween's 1st drummer Ingo who by many is considered the Godfather of power metal drumming. Sadly Ingo lost his battle with mental illness and substance abuse about 30years ago. His successors (Ulli/Dani) play the solo section slightly different and Haruna absolutely nailed the original.

Poor La Gringa, mixing up reality with dreams...or nightmares. Though I did get a feeling of deja vu when she mentioned it...and a sudden fear of very long fingernails and striped jerseys. Hmm...anyway...this was fantastic. Everyone playing absolutely perfectly as always - I sometimes want to hear a bum note just to know they can come down to ordinary human levels from their Goddess pedestals! I was trying figure out what was so different about this sound from them, and I finally figured out that there are almost no cymbal crashes from Haruna, compared to most of their songs.

Wow, back to my young adult days, August 1988, Halloween, band from Hamburg, metal band from the old Federal Republic of Germany (yes, the GDR, the wall and all its horrors still existed), in August 1988 Halloween released their third album "Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2". This album went down in metal history as a pioneer for the power metal style. It also contains clear elements of heavy and speed metal and the 2nd track on this album: Eagle Fly Free - decades later, Lovebites took this song and I like both versions. But for me the women are clearly - sorry boys - the better instrumentalists - much better!

I'm so glad to see you guys got to see that version, I actually prefer the other cover version of the song with the girl and guy covering it. Gabby guns and company absolutely killed that version. Don't get me wrong I love Asami in every way, 😊 however her voice is not a natural hardcore Rock voice. I saw some reactors say that it is impossible to get that sound quality all in the same room. I thought that the studio was specially designed to make that possible? Anyone with knowledge about that? Thanks.
Normally in a studio recording you have the vocalist isolated so his/her mic doesn't pick up any noise from instruments that are either direct input or mic'd up. There is always residual noise from instruments however with recording equipment today it can be cleaned up pretty well. From my experience when a band records live in a studio the vocals are always isolated in a booth or recorded separately at a later time. I've also recorded to click tracks meaning bass and drums record together (tho in separate booths with monitoring in headphones) and then all other instruments are layered over it to allow for better mixing. You can totally get this sound quality with everything going direct input tho into the recording console. That's just my experience with it.. I'm by no means a recording expert lol
They were not inspired by this band at all, it is just Haruna's favorite band. They were inspired by multiple bands like Miyako was inspired by Deep Purple, Midori was inspired by Extreme, Miho was inspired by Iron Maiden. I personally never like helloween but have heard this song and Lovebites rendition is 100% better

When ASAMI is singing "low", her expression sounds quite "thin" (she's not an "alto"-range, but mezzo-soprano-singer). When she's singing "high", she has an enormous over-pressure . . . both of them aren't good. Either the composer (Miyako, Mio) is in duty to range her voice within the musical keys where it can "shine", or the sound engineer of the final record mixing has to amplify her silent deep voice to an appropriate effect . . . ! Don't get me wrong: LOVEBITES is my favorite number one. With a large distance to the rest, no doubt . . .
I would rather you listen to all the original songs before you start checking out covers...you still haven't checked out addiction Bravehearted above the black sea under the red sky or much off their new album ....this song is good but their original songs are better imo....

Hmm...anyway...this was fantastic. Everyone playing absolutely perfectly as always - I sometimes want to hear a bum note just to know they can come down to ordinary human levels from their Goddess pedestals! Probably going to be waiting until the end of time for that to happen though.

It's a great cover. I'm sure you'll like it. The ladies from LOVEBITES are well acquainted with the musicians from HELLOWEEN. In Japan, the promotion of HELLOWEEN Albums is handled by the same Label ('Victor Entertainment', Japan), with which LOVEBITES cooperates (contract).
This live studio concert took place on October 25, 2020. The concert was dedicated to the 3-year anniversary of the release of the first LOVEBITES Studio Album 'Awakening from Abyss' (October 25, 2017).
Due to restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, LOVEBITES could not perform in concert halls. Therefore, the concert took place in the studio and was broadcast live on the Internet to fans of the band. During the concert LOVEBITES performed all the songs from the Album 'Awakening from Abyss' (12 songs , in the same order as on the Album) + the song 'Eagle Fly Free' (HELLOWEEN cover).
Concert was recorded and released on Blu-ray/DVD under the title 'Awake Again - Live from Abyss' (December 2020).

I was trying figure out what was so different about this sound from them, and I finally figured out that there are almost no cymbal crashes from Haruna, compared to most of their songs.

Wow, back to my young adult days, August 1988, Halloween, band from Hamburg, metal band from the old Federal Republic of Germany (yes, the GDR, the wall and all its horrors still existed), in August 1988 Halloween released their third album "Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2". This album went down in metal history as a pioneer for the power metal style. It also contains clear elements of heavy and speed metal and the 2nd track on this album: Eagle Fly Free - decades later, Lovebites took this song and I like both versions. But for me the women are clearly - sorry boys - the better instrumentalists - much better!

I saw some reactors say that it is impossible to get that sound quality all in the same room. I thought that the studio was specially designed to make that possible? Anyone with knowledge about that? Thanks.
Normally in a studio recording you have the vocalist isolated so his/her mic doesn't pick up any noise from instruments that are either direct input or mic'd up. There is always residual noise from instruments however with recording equipment today it can be cleaned up pretty well. From my experience when a band records live in a studio the vocals are always isolated in a booth or recorded separately at a later time. I've also recorded to click tracks meaning bass and drums record together (tho in separate booths with monitoring in headphones) and then all other instruments are layered over it to allow for better mixing. You can totally get this sound quality with everything going direct input tho into the recording console. That's just my experience with it.. I'm by no means a recording expert lol

They were not inspired by this band at all, it is just Haruna's favorite band. They were inspired by multiple bands like Miyako was inspired by Deep Purple, Midori was inspired by Extreme, Miho was inspired by Iron Maiden. I personally never like helloween but have heard this song and Lovebites rendition is 100% better

When ASAMI is singing "low", her expression sounds quite "thin" (she's not an "alto"-range, but mezzo-soprano-singer). When she's singing "high", she has an enormous over-pressure . . . both of them aren't good. Either the composer (Miyako, Mio) is in duty to range her voice within the musical keys where it can "shine", or the sound engineer of the final record mixing has to amplify her silent deep voice to an appropriate effect . . . !
Don't get me wrong: LOVEBITES is my favorite number one. With a large distance to the rest, no doubt . . .
I would rather you listen to all the original songs before you start checking out covers...you still haven't checked out addiction Bravehearted above the black sea under the red sky or much off their new album ....this song is good but their original songs are better imo....
