    The Australian pull up is useful for the devil steps, the weird wall one is mostly useless but if it was useful it could only help on the cliffhanger

    • @coachkitheninjaguy
      @coachkitheninjaguy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some of these exercises will be as useful or as useless as you want them to be.
      I think his grabbing technique is the same or similar to the Devel steps and many flat surface grabs.
      And if you lean your body back far enough and put your feet close enough to the wall or past the wall, like around the corner, then you can get your grip worked pretty well.
      And actually, those lower intensity activities where you’re doing mostly aerobic activity, less than 70 less than 80% of your maximum functioning heart rate, are really beneficial for the longevity of your cardio and muscular long term endurance and growth. They just feel more useless because it takes longer to wear yourself out on them. But our boy has a point here!

    I like the video and what you were trying to do with it but I strongly disagree with everything besides your psycho chain saw and cannon ball alley ideas where you just built small versions of those obstacles.
    Clapping pull ups are good for training the strength you need for the salmon ladder but not enough and they also will train the strength for almost every obstacle. The ones you had for the devil steps and cliffhanger were useless and won’t gain any strength at all. But still its really easy to train the muscles you need to do these things with just weights. Getting used to the movements and skills is the real issue that people have trouble with and you failed to address that.

    • @TheNinjaLife
      @TheNinjaLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ninja Games I really appreciate your honesty and feedback. I will admit, the wall thing doesn't do much for me anymore, however these exercises where used when I had nothing but a normal gym with weights. Difficulty is for sure an intro level. But non the less, each of these training exercises are meant to help expand the mind with creative ideas when training without actual obstacles. Thanks again for watching and I'll be more thorough on future video's. Keep living The Ninja Life!

      @@TheNinjaLife I am starting from square one, and these are helping me to think outside the box. I signed up with an app for 6 weeks through Meagan Martin, am doing this video, and another one of beginner (no level) parkour, and another vid covering how to go from 0-30 push ups, and just focusing on these for two weeks.
      With no gym nor climbing opportunities, this is helping me so much! Thanks for putting in the work and the effort to get these up to spark ideas on how to start, rather than just seeing what I can't do.

      @@TheNinjaLife hm well how can someone build up upper body strength at home?

    • @TheNinjaLife
      @TheNinjaLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The absolute best way to start training upper body strength is pull-ups. if you can't do pull up's yet, then buy some resistance bands (they cost roughly $20 for a pack of 4 on amazon, depending on the brand) Here's a quick link to gain the forearm strength you'll need using everyday house hold items. I'll definitely make another video for upper body strength for beginners at home.

      Made them from baseballs softballs and wood. But you can buy them online now for a fairly decent price. Amazon climbing grips, 3ball or atomik
