Finally found someone with a similar minimalist UI! The way I found to learn new jobs with my UI is basically using muscle memory, 1,2,3 always main combo, Q E R for combo finishes, stuff like that. That way you can basically play any new job as long as you place the core skills accordantly.
While idk if I'd be able to handle not seeing a lot of my skill shortcuts, I honestly really enjoyed seeing how your stuff is setup. It's like watching a good minimalist pc build video just in ff haha. I play controller but I've been trying to use an mmo mouse to try m/kb healing so maybe when I'm more used to that, I'll try something like this out because I do like removing clutter from my screen!
ive never heard it called the skeleton before this video but i dont have a better name for it! in my c++ classes, we were encouraged to make a "skeleton" code file that's a template for starting new projects from. same idea i suppose! it really helps a lot to have that "screenshot of the HUD editor" (what a mouthful lol) oftentimes HUD discussions/videos will show the UI in use but not in-edit and it can be frustrating trying to figure out how they did that, there's so many questions, (did they hold shift to snap align or manually position? did they leave space for expanded 2x2 inventory? do they have hidden elements arranged so they can be toggled on sometimes, and where would they go? how big should the buffer between elements be? etc.) i regularly spend hours editing the HUD because i like to change it up and "optimize" things and it's so much easier to mimic the "bones" than to exit and re-enter the editor over and over to try to mimic something. so yeah thank you for the great video it was really well presented
I just wanted to thank you for helping me boost my confidence to main SCH again, I use to main SCH as my shield and ast as my pure healer so this video definitely helped me ❤
I just wanted to say that I was a samurai before but I always wanted to learn how to play scholar but I had anxiety and your videos helped me a lot with that!
i love u i was wondering why i wouldnt wanna remove my health/mp bars if i have the party window always turned on and was looking for exactly this! thanku!
I have been using minimal hotbar setup for Summoner and Black Mage, and tried it with Scholar(main) too; interestingly although it works, having all the buttons on Scholar feels more comfortable...
The moment I've done all of ARR I started doing some of the Extremes as well as Coils MINE with a party half full of fellow blind people - I started using similar UI setups, would recommend. I usually played lvl 50 content on RDM, but I would definitely recommend this setup for BLM especially! It has very few things you need to keep track of since Job gauge does some heavy lifting on that part and it makes the UI extremely clean! Love your videos and style by the way! Thought about making a discord server for community building where we can discuss the videos, make suggestions et cetera? For this video for example I would love to see other people's setups, but TH-cam is not exactly the place for that
When I was making minimal UI for RDM I was literally shocked of how little the job needs to keep on screen 😅Also, we do have a community discord! (It's in the channel page)
@@UmbralRYT Oh! I am blind, read the main description under the video and did not scroll further! ...AST on the other side... ooh boy, around 16 buttons that you "need" to track
Do you ever struggle with keeping eyes on your personal HP or MP since you are not using Parameter Bars? Or is it not a problem because this HUD is just for Healer and your eyes are on the Party List? I just play DPS and I'm trying to learn Tank then Healer. I want one HUD for all jobs. I just don't know if I can get used to looking at the smaller monochrome HP bar to know when I'm dying. :P I'm thinking of sorting the list to always put me on bottom and then "dock" myself at the bottom of the screen. But having eyes on the bottom of the screen is rough too. I dislike when there's a really tall boss and I can't see their small nameplate and floating HP bar. I guess this setup puts your PC under the hotbars when you pitch up the camera fully. What a system. Hydaelyn give me strength. There are so many factors the HUD game never ends hahaha
The idea is interesting, but I'm very confused about using the skills without seeing them, I don't really understand 🤔… maybe I'm just too noob for this 😅... in any case, nice job for the video as always 😀

yeah, it does take a while to get used to 😭
this one is really nice, short sweet, detailed and included the skeleton.
id also like to mention that your character is always super well dressed! you glam game is ON POINT!

oftentimes HUD discussions/videos will show the UI in use but not in-edit and it can be frustrating
trying to figure out how they did that, there's so many questions,
(did they hold shift to snap align or manually position? did they leave space for expanded 2x2 inventory? do they have hidden elements arranged so they can be toggled on sometimes, and where would they go? how big should the buffer between elements be? etc.)

ty, please post more of those 'chill healer pov' videos!
Omg, that UI is SO COOL! Legit the best one I've seen!
Mine's kinda minimalist too but yours is best.
Thank god Im not the only one who tries to have as little as possible on my damn screen!

how do you get the display only hotbar?
Even more impressive is that this is showcased on Scholar, a job with one of the highest action count
Used to play ShB like this. Maybe I should set it up this way again, I love how clean it looks.

I feel like the chat box is a pretty major omission here, but otherwise it looks nice.
yes I was looking forward to this!!!

No chat window or mini map? Idk if i would like those hidden while playing
Thank you so much for making this video explaining your thought process on the UI it will definitely help me improve mine!
What I truly wanted to know is what reshade you're using, the colors look stunning!
it's neneko_wildflower ! ✧d(•̀ v•̀ )
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Thank YOU for watching
You can actually make your hotbar minimalistic by only putting broil, bio and energy drain
interesting. thank you so much!
My issue is simply that by 90 you have tons of buttons...
TONS
Beautifull
Hi umbral, would like to ask how to enable the display only hotbar ?
it's basically a hotbar that you put skills on it without having keybind attached to any of the buttons ✧d(•̀ v•̀ )
@@UmbralRYT ohh if u disable the hotbars where the actual abilities are on do the binds still work ?
@@oxymoron818 yup, it will still work perfectly fine!
@@UmbralRYT thanks for the replies Umbral
interesting
Heh that's cool..though umm...imma play HUD warfare 2024
Oh, I got 'ere early.
nice to look at though not really my cup of tea. you'll need more for harder content. to each is own tho o7
