This game is some of the most fun I've ever had for videogames, and I've been playing video games for nearly two decades. It's the perfect representation of why we enjoy the collectathon genre while still being wholly unique in and of itself. It's not trying to be Mario or Banjo or Shantae or any platforming superstar, which is where Mighty Number 9 failed; it *wanted* to be Megaman, and when it wasn't exactly like the Megaman fans grew up with, it rebelled. This game, though, just wants to be it's own thing while clinging to a genre we love. The genre where you explore every little nook and cranny, where you're rewarded for noticing little oddities and sticking your neck out to try and investigate them, where the characters give you laughs and the music pumps you up. This soundtrack gets every beat right, and just accentuates A Hat in Time's charming glory. Sure, it takes some of Sunshine's secret levels design ideas, but it never feels like it's trying to take away Sunshine or 64 from you. It wants you to enjoy it for its own merits while making fun references and challenging you with some pretty precise platforming at times. And every level, every single level, is packed with love and meticulously planned out so that it feels distinct from the last level while still keeping the world's theme intact. Dead Bird Studio is the perfect example of this, and it alone could have carried the whole dang game for me, but Subcon Forest and Alpine Skyline and Mafia Town are almost as filled with love as Dead Bird Studio is. If you don't have this game yet and bothered to read this comment, I urge, no, *implore* you. It's worth every cent. And if you wait until the end of 2018, you'll even get a new world added to the game! *FOR FREE!* Gears for Breakfast earned themselves a fan in me, and I hope they'll continue to churn out more games with the quality A Hat in Time provided.

One thing I should point out, every single song has at least some parts of a certain leitmotif, for example, most Sub-con forest songs have little bits of "Your Contract has Expired" in it, which on it's own has a very small bit of the main leitmotif in it
Mafia Boss Showdown is a rock rearrengement of Mafia Town, The Battle of Award 42 contains various lehtmotif of the levels in the chapter like train rush, the big parade and the Conductor train, The Illness has spread is a more dramatic orchestral rearrengement of Alpine Skyline and You are all bad guys contains the various menu themes.
At 2:10:05 was my favorite part of the game the stealth in A Hat in Time actually feels like stealth! Because jumping around trying to not get caught by guards and camera’s is A LOT funner than of having to hide behind boxes or walls.
Honestly, Battle of the Birds was my favorite chapter. I loved the mix between Stealth and Movie Action, blended together and served with Chicken Nuggets. Even though Subcon Forest was a close second (Queen Vanessa ruined that for me...), I can’t deny this was the best chapter

I hope they don’t send in more DLC and just make a whole new game since it’s getting pretty old and the dlcs animations are so much more advanced there’s a big difference
I both want a continuation of this game and want to keep it the way it is. I have no doubt they could make an incredible sequel but something about it being this wonderful package of delight is special to me. Theres nothing quite like it :]

So beautiful that I started the game and stayed in Hat Kid's room while I listened to it. Highlights for me are picture perfect (1:27:01), Trainwreck of electro swing remix (1:55:31) and subcon village remix (2:46:49) The main theme and motif of the game also sends a shiver down my spine; happy times. God I love this game.
I listen to this all the time. It hasn't lost its magic yet, so I assume it never will. I don't know why, but it's really hard for me to express just how much I love most music. And I don't think there is a single exception on this soundtrack. I don't know how to put into words just how much I love every song on this soundtrack.
Joey Roth also the fact the each song gives a great impact on its area and how it makes that area better. Take the DBS basement soundtrack for example, it sounds so dark, malevolent, and just gives off that dark feel of the place. That’s the charm this games music has.
The Alpine Skyline level is for sure, my favorite level in this game. It's just so damn pretty to navigate through and all the peaks were super fun to parkour my way through. Couple all that with amazing music and you have the best level.
this soundtrack is a lot like a movie soundtrack in the grandness of it and it’s just an all around fun sound as well. The best part of it has to be the fact that there seems to have been literally no boundaries to it. some songs go as far as to elaborate and remix themselves in the MIDDLE OF THE PIECE. It’s so good

I just wanted to say that people say that only the Conductor literally wants you dead for his glory and for his award but DJ Grooves is no better because he starts you off with a simple challenge to be a diva and go around taking pictures and doing some activities but that just sounds like he wants to use you to become more popular and win his second award and smoosh it all over the Conductor's face and when it's time the do "The Big Parade", you will have to risk your life walking around, try not to fall, walk on phone lines to get around, heat seeking missiles (fireworks), and some weird electricity that appears on the building after a while. So my point is that the Conductor and DJ Grooves are both selfish and want you to die for their glory. I think they are equally evil no matter how chill dj grooves is.
I really hope that in the next 2 DLC chapters, Moustache Girl comes back but as a protagonist. She's one of the few antagonists in media who thought that they were doing the right thing for everyone.

People's favorite music pieces are normally Train Rush, BoA42 and YChE. Those are my personal favorites, too, but Dead Bird Studio, Dead Bird Studio is Closed, Dead Bird Studio Basement, Main Theme, The Phones Ringing (w/ headphones especially), Turn on the Pyrotechnics, The Conductor's Train, and literally every Time Rift song are super underrated and underappreciated.

This game is some of the most fun I've ever had for videogames, and I've been playing video games for nearly two decades. It's the perfect representation of why we enjoy the collectathon genre while still being wholly unique in and of itself. It's not trying to be Mario or Banjo or Shantae or any platforming superstar, which is where Mighty Number 9 failed; it *wanted* to be Megaman, and when it wasn't exactly like the Megaman fans grew up with, it rebelled. This game, though, just wants to be it's own thing while clinging to a genre we love.
The genre where you explore every little nook and cranny, where you're rewarded for noticing little oddities and sticking your neck out to try and investigate them, where the characters give you laughs and the music pumps you up. This soundtrack gets every beat right, and just accentuates A Hat in Time's charming glory.
Sure, it takes some of Sunshine's secret levels design ideas, but it never feels like it's trying to take away Sunshine or 64 from you. It wants you to enjoy it for its own merits while making fun references and challenging you with some pretty precise platforming at times.
And every level, every single level, is packed with love and meticulously planned out so that it feels distinct from the last level while still keeping the world's theme intact. Dead Bird Studio is the perfect example of this, and it alone could have carried the whole dang game for me, but Subcon Forest and Alpine Skyline and Mafia Town are almost as filled with love as Dead Bird Studio is.
If you don't have this game yet and bothered to read this comment, I urge, no, *implore* you. It's worth every cent. And if you wait until the end of 2018, you'll even get a new world added to the game! *FOR FREE!* Gears for Breakfast earned themselves a fan in me, and I hope they'll continue to churn out more games with the quality A Hat in Time provided.

One thing I should point out, every single song has at least some parts of a certain leitmotif, for example, most Sub-con forest songs have little bits of "Your Contract has Expired" in it, which on it's own has a very small bit of the main leitmotif in it
Mafia Boss Showdown is a rock rearrengement of Mafia Town, The Battle of Award 42 contains various lehtmotif of the levels in the chapter like train rush, the big parade and the Conductor train, The Illness has spread is a more dramatic orchestral rearrengement of Alpine Skyline and You are all bad guys contains the various menu themes.
At 2:10:05 was my favorite part of the game the stealth in A Hat in Time actually feels like stealth! Because jumping around trying to not get caught by guards and camera’s is A LOT funner than of having to hide behind boxes or walls.
Honestly, Battle of the Birds was my favorite chapter. I loved the mix between Stealth and Movie Action, blended together and served with Chicken Nuggets. Even though Subcon Forest was a close second (Queen Vanessa ruined that for me...), I can’t deny this was the best chapter

I listen to this all the time. It hasn't lost its magic yet, so I assume it never will.
I don't know why, but it's really hard for me to express just how much I love most music. And I don't think there is a single exception on this soundtrack. I don't know how to put into words just how much I love every song on this soundtrack.
Joey Roth also the fact the each song gives a great impact on its area and how it makes that area better.
Take the DBS basement soundtrack for example, it sounds so dark, malevolent, and just gives off that dark feel of the place. That’s the charm this games music has.

The Alpine Skyline level is for sure, my favorite level in this game. It's just so damn pretty to navigate through and all the peaks were super fun to parkour my way through. Couple all that with amazing music and you have the best level.

The way this game’s team is dealing with the gaming community is an example of how all gaming companies should. They are making it so easy for the community to interact with the game. The soundtrack of this game, before and after i played and beat it, gives me a feeling I've never felt before.
3:11:16 by far one of my favourite boss fight themes. And the fight was the best in the game. GFB surpassed my expectations and then some.
bailtheironman love that boss fight :) i hope some modders make a more difficult version with new attacks and makes it more difficult to get to him when he is blue, then i will try that with the 1hp badge :D and the music will be much more fitting than it already is XD (i still like it how it is i just want the fight to be more intense and challenging) :)

I just wanted to say that people say that only the Conductor literally wants you dead for his glory and for his award but DJ Grooves is no better because he starts you off with a simple challenge to be a diva and go around taking pictures and doing some activities but that just sounds like he wants to use you to become more popular and win his second award and smoosh it all over the Conductor's face and when it's time the do "The Big Parade", you will have to risk your life walking around, try not to fall, walk on phone lines to get around, heat seeking missiles (fireworks), and some weird electricity that appears on the building after a while. So my point is that the Conductor and DJ Grooves are both selfish and want you to die for their glory. I think they are equally evil no matter how chill dj grooves is.

I really hope that in the next 2 DLC chapters, Moustache Girl comes back but as a protagonist. She's one of the few antagonists in media who thought that they were doing the right thing for everyone.

People's favorite music pieces are normally Train Rush, BoA42 and YChE. Those are my personal favorites, too, but Dead Bird Studio, Dead Bird Studio is Closed, Dead Bird Studio Basement, Main Theme, The Phones Ringing (w/ headphones especially), Turn on the Pyrotechnics, The Conductor's Train, and literally every Time Rift song are super underrated and underappreciated.
