Love that you are doing a body off frame resto on the F-100. My thought would be that the chassis and drivetrain be glossy and new looking and the body you keep the patina, do PDR and small body work and do a statin clear on it.New metal inside the bed and rhino line it.
What do you think a better air source would be to push into this system? A old buffalo turbine maybe a big compressor or one of those blowers they use for giant moon bounces? Let me know what you think
Ok… 2 birds with one stone… could be something if you wanted to put the F100 into service… make a hitch mount on the front of the truck. Modify the trailer of one of the buffalo blowers to where you could disconnect the trailer arm on it… then slide the remaining part of the chassis/arm into the hitch on the F100… Make a shoot for the buffalo blower to where it’ll mount into your air blade arm. Could end up being a dual purpose tool to dry AND blow the debris that’s right up against your SAFER barrier away from the walls on a regular race night. On our buffalo trucks they have the GIANT ones in the bed but they also have the smaller one mounted on the front of the trucks for that reason
Saw tractor in background and thought maybe The blades on a tractor mower may accomplish same thing, holes on top to improve air flow. Kinda like a fan blowing downward. Maybe different blade pitch to push air instead of cut
Whatever you find to use, the more CFM the better. And the more likely it is to deal with the back pressure. If you have a big pull behind buffalo turbine already, seems like it could do the job well.
It’s not a bad thought. I just would rather not get soaked sitting out in the elements while trying to dry the racing surface. That’s the main reason I’m thinking a truck mounted one is the best option

Use the PTO on the tractor to drive a blower . Connect the blower to your dryer blades with 4” brake duct hose
an old buffalo turbine or a billy goat walk behind blower
Food for thought. A 3 point pto air compressor for the back of a tractor.

Welp I know what one of my winter projects is!
With a bigger size you could also incorporate a heat option to increase the air temperature to dry it even faster
take the compressor you use to blow out your water lines and connect your air things to the compressor and tow behind the truck you are fixing up.
dont you have a buffalo turbine blower, is their somhow you can fabricate somthing to that?
Do away the castors and use a small rubber tire like a small lawnmower tire. Use some sort of turbine to get the benefit of heat and compressed air.
Hey Dave,
What about the heater units they use for party tents? They would produce both heat and air flow
This sounds like a decent option. I wonder how much air they actually push
take an old gang reel mower apart and replace it with the air blades you made and then a compressor and that track will be dry in no time
Dave, you need to get a microphone.
