Nope definitely not underrated for alot less of a price GM was giving us the zo6 and zr1 making more hp and way more torque and money to mod even further
1) LFA should have been the new Supra 2) Supra should have been the 86 3) 86 should have been the new Celica (paying homage to the early 70s RWD Celica)
@@patx35 agreed that makes no sense. The AE86 is a cheap daily driver that is practical but small. The AE86 was a fluke (it was never meant to be special) and Toyota trying to remake it can do good but it can never truly live up to it. As far as Celica goes I don't think that will ever return it just wasn't really popular when they stopped making them, maybe in the future once we get nostalgic. As for the LFA that's not what the Supra is, the Supra is a car that isn't the most expensive but still pricey an overbuilt engine with an amazing new platform with lots of potential for aftermarket power cheap and easy. The new Supra literally does this perfectly with the b58, its extremely overbuilt and easy to swap turbos and make big power.
@@pgmallon Honestly does stir the soul considering all my money gets spent on mods. I customize my car, have a ton of fun, don't have any break downs especially when I need to get shit done and get to work. If anything my cars are dependable, reliable and trustworthy. Trust is not easy to develop.
@@d1sturb3d119 and yet those mods still make it a soulless car. Toyota is trash when it comes to designing sports cars. There specialty is making under powered, cookie cutter A+B cars that's #1 priority is reliability over everything else and in doing so they have severely compromised the performance and driving dynamics. Name any Lexus vehicle in the past 6 years and compare it to the same competitor in category and price class and the Lexus always loses when it comes to tech both electrical and mechanical. Even Toyota's CEO admitted 2 times from 2010-2018 that they can't compete with the germans.
@@paulj9821 So clearly you aren't the buyer they're targeting. For buyers of the brand, we know what we want. A car that gives us performance, while being reliable at its primary role of being a car. Personally its been the best vehicles I've owned. And my ISF has yet to see any car get close to passing me on track. For all that performance German fanboys shout about, few know how to extract it. I think German vehicles are engineered exceptionally well. German business practices and planned obsolescence leave a lot to be desired. Anyone who knows a thing or two about these cars know how much performance there is to offer with reliability to boot. But that's just me.Call it soul less all you want, fact is cars that can't do their job are soul less. Cars that can do both are special to a lot of people.
When the idea started, it was ahead of its time. When the product was released, others have caught up. However, why do people still revere the LFA despite it being already part of the world of supercars? Other manufacturers may have caught up, but only because they release good cars that have good features. On the other hand, Toyota released a great car with great features because they were aiming for perfection. Whatever the other companies did, they did their best to perfect and add it into one car. Other cars were built to beat records, or be in a collection, and some needed to have a performance version to race. The LFA has all that in one car. It was an engineering and aesthetic marvel, which is what Japan and its cars are known for. It's fun to see reliable ordinary brands like Toyota and Ford build fast cars, because their foundation is always reliability, not performance. As a result, they build fast cars without sacrificing other aspects. Perfection takes time, and the LFA embodies that.
In case people didnt know, the engine was actually designed & built by Yamaha. Yamaha have done afew engine builds for Toyota, from the Celica to the MR2 to the Camry... Yamaha's work is much more prevalent in the 80s and 90s moels and petering out post 2010ish... The sound elements of the engine was actually tuned by Yamaha's audio division who took it out for testing and arranged the car's cavities, envelopes and casings etc. Hard to explain, but the engine bay, through to the footwell through to the exhaust mounts, the materials, etc were all specifically calibrated to achieve that sound... So there you go, many people used to ask what would ensue if Yamaha were to build a car, well, this is it... nb - Ooops.. i just saw that he's actually mentioned Yamaha.. I wrote/posted this as the video started & hit post before he got to that point.. which brings me back to add this.. LOL
2 units are available in Dubai , with less than 1500 miles on both for about $600,000. V10 engine just sounds other worldly also super reliable since its a Lexus 2 other V8's that sounds good are Shelby GT350R & Maserati MC Stradale
The car was so good that Lexus didnt even want to sell them at first. They knew they would never see it again, sooo they just leased them knowing they would get it back. Lol
It was barely faster than the ZR1 at Nurbergring and on most tracks the ZR1 was actually faster. And for the price difference $300,000 I could upgrade a ZR1 significantly and it would be nice and a faster then the LFA Nurbergring edition.
The LFA doesn’t get enough credit. The greatest part is that you feel confident when driving it. Very well balanced car. From wat I heard, it’s very adaptable to the road. Just absorbs it like it’s the train tracks that hold and make the train steady.
The GTR really hurt the LFA's release. GTR launched faster, shifted faster, had the throw people back into their seat for "cheap" factor. While the LFA was so dreamy in magazines, to the time it actually got released it was lackluster in specs compared to the competition despite its handling and driving prowess. It was a little slow and too late with its NA v10, single clutch auto. That said, it's still a thrill to the senses.
The LFA might be Lexus' first supercar, but technically the Toyota 2000GT (1967-1970) is Toyota's first supercar. The engine was also developed by Yamaha. How about doing a Bumper2Bumper on that?
That would be best but there are a few in private collections here in the USA. All it takes is a willing and gracious owner. The car would be safe. It’s not they are driven on Bumper2Bumper.
Bombardier rotax "brp" way better than yamaha anyday .. js..........no not js it's the truth had both ridden both and wouldn't spend good american money on anything other than brp. The one time you realize that such a beautiful engine sound exists in very few video games. I'd love to see Lexus make another Super/Hyper car with a motor that amazing. Mix that motor with 1-2 Forced Inductions and pair it with a dual clutch transmission and the end result would be absolutely insane. I hope you're listening Toyota.
Forced induction would take away the engines godly harmonic acoustics.

3:36 godlike editing 🤣
1) LFA should have been the new Supra
2) Supra should have been the 86
3) 86 should have been the new Celica (paying homage to the early 70s RWD Celica)
The 86 paid homage to the AE86, the cheap, lightweight, low HP, RWD Corolla.
Most underrated comment here. I was thinking the exact same thing when the supra finally dropped.
The supra with a V10 engine?
Simon Riley I would be more than happy to take the V10 anyday over the B58.
As a fan of Lexus, this video speaks to me. One of the most reliable cars, that I've had.
Nothing like reliability to stir the soul...

Yes I Will Raid Lexus Headquaters
I've always loved the LFA it's such a sleek beautiful car and the sound my God sound is absolute heaven
9:44 never really seen a car just take off like that. The change of speed looks insane especially since no boost.

@НАТО в шоке, США обосрались You can't compare supercar to hypercar
LOL

How powerful is that version of the LFA?
Pax Humana 562 hp with 6-speed sequential gearbox

Such Clickbait: LFA is a legend.
Just finished watching - good stuff per yuuuj.
Agreed. It's an enigma that car people with a show or a magazine to write still over analyze.
The LFA had the Nurburgring lap record on street tires. Not cups. No one buying a LFA paid attention to the GT-R.
3:36 wtf was that transition dog 💀

The LFA might be Lexus' first supercar, but technically the Toyota 2000GT (1967-1970) is Toyota's first supercar. The engine was also developed by Yamaha. How about doing a Bumper2Bumper on that?
Would love to see that but that car is probably one of the rarest car in the world. If Donut wanted to be leant one it has to be directly from Totota
That would be best but there are a few in private collections here in the USA. All it takes is a willing and gracious owner. The car would be safe. It’s not they are driven on Bumper2Bumper.
