Adult onset flat foot is a common foot disorder which is seen is middle age person. The 2 most important causes of this ailment is Posterior Tibial tendon dysfunction and Spring ligament tear. Posterior tibial tendon is a dynamic stabilizer. Spring ligament is a static stabilizer. The problem is seen more often in obese, diabetic, seronegative arthropathy and rheumatoid arthritis. Varus knee is also a risk factor. Avoid steroid injections in the posterior tibial tendon . The deformity is usually progressive. Hindfoot deformity is slowly followed with forefoot abduction and spring ligament stretch. Slowly it involves ankle as well and may cause arthritis in foot and ankle joints as well.

Foot exercises are the cornerstone treatment for you .intrinsic muscles of your foot needs to be make strong .. ideally we recommend doing Xrays and Ct scan to rule out any bony abnormalities and coalitions

There is no medicine but you can try medial arch support, its an orthotic available in market. If there is pain we can give you medication for pain control

4 साल की उम्र में घुटने के नीचे वाले भाग का आपरेशन हुआ था, उसके बाद 12 साल की उम्र में दर्द होना शुरू हो गया और सूजन भी आ गई, डॉक्टर को दिखाने पर बोले की कमजोर है टांग, व्यायाम से ठीक हो जाएगा, जितनो को दिखाया, यही बताया। पिछले साल (23 वर्ष उम्र) फिर से दिखाया तो फ्लैट फुट की दिक्कत आई, सूजन भी वैसी ही है। फीजियो थैरेपी कराया, आर्च स्पोर्ट भी दिया, तब आराम आया था, पर अब फिर से वही दर्द है। क्या आपरेशन से ही ठीक होगा ?
