Monument-Solar | How far can your panels tilt?

This is a quick video demonstrating the versatility we have incorporated into our off-grid RV solar racking system. Having the ability to tilt your solar panels affords you the ability to maintain full access to your roof just incase you need to perform repairs or you wish to inspect your system or water proofing. It also allows you to tilt your panels for greater solar absorption. Incorporated into our patent pending design, the panel which is closest to the sun will actually pivot further in which keeps it lower than the panel behind it. This helps to reduce possible shading when you have the panels tilted in the same direction. You can also tilt the panels at 45 degrees in opposite directions. This can be helpful if you want to keep snow or other debris from accumulating on the roof during the off season. This position can also be useful if you wish to have a consistent flow of power throughout the day. Position your RV in a North/South position and one side of the panels will capture the morning sun, both will capture during the day, and the other side will capture the setting sun. In order to take full advantage of this you will need to insure that your right and left solar arrays have independent runs down to your separate charge controllers.
