Thank you for this video Chuck! Last year I began a project for a portable hex for POTA with a 3d base/hub, and using Pex water pipe. I’ve yet to finish it, but watching your video has inspired me to re-visit it and work toward finishing it!
Beautifully done, Chuck💯👍 I could not do this any better myself. Looks very professional. Golden Rule here, save as much unecessary Weight as you can without giving up on Stability. Hey, tnx for another neat Video. I share this One with my Facebookers. Until the ext One. 73 from Coast to Coast and Sea the shining Sea de YFUG 💯🙋♂
@@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures that's the problem mate is finding the time. I e not been on the radio since the WPX contest. I am still struggling to decide which radio I want next the line up is 991a, 710 or the G90. Currently running the ft817.
Very impressive Chuck, i'd be really bloody proud if I could make something like that mate. I love the improvements you've made, you really can't beat a hexbeam in my opinion. Well done Chuck.
That is a great looking setup! I helped a friend put a buddihex up before the totality event. Super easy and it looks like your way will be as well. Good luck, I might have to do this some day.
Thanks for explaining this build. Do you think at some point you can put the measurements for the base plate and the poles' pipes in the description? I want to build one of these and feel I might have a trade school build the center plate for me. Thanks again, and I hope to catch you on the air sometime. 73s
@@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures Thank you. The measurements would be excellent. And if you don't mind, the template you used so I can get it to the shop. Thanks, de W3CT.
I'm over here fighting a single long wire, Chuck over here with real tools, printing and weighing in grams, do you have wire on there between 10 & 12? Can't wait for 2.2!
If you were to sell the HUB and make a suggested parts list for all of the other parts, I would buy it. I don't have the tools to do the hub. Would love to build a hex beam. I think the hub is the most important piece.
What is a good website that has the build instructions. How long at the fiberglass poles? How long are the top support ropes? Where do I find the clips you used? How do I weave the wires inside the hex?

Enquired the cost of a locally built Hexbeam. It is almost one third of the cost of my FT-710! So I am still on my homebrew fan dipole for 40/10m which allows me to work on 40, 15 and 10m. 73 de Jon, VU2JO

Thanks for sharing Chuck, it takes a lot of time to design, gather parts, assemble, make changes and so on! Looking forward to the next video!
Brilliant as always Chuck. I will be making my smaller centre shortly.

I love the name of the antenna. "Chuckie Hex."
Thanks for sharing, You always have some cool stuff. KO4HPC 73

Great tune up on the Chucky-Hex!!
Nice Chuck. Good luck with it.
Don I don't have to tell you how well these work!

We are talking about doing something like that!
Chuck, this is a very cool thing. 🎉
Thanks David!
Nice work Chuck!
Hayden thank you , you know I have to make it easy so we can make that contact hex to hex lol
hello can you please tell us what material was used or a tutorial that inspired you for this creation
73 good job for this video
I added the guide I used to do my build in the description.
Thanks. I will be looking for your old chuck hex video
There are two, I liked the first set up but way too long to set up. Thanks for watching!
Impressive and well done. Hmm, projects for after that second retirement. Thanks and 73, KF0NNQ.
Thanks Bill, yea even retired I seem to not have enough time Lol.
This is exciting 🎉
Thanks David , they are great antennas!
Visit some sign shops in your area, see if they have any free (or cheap) thick Plexiglas remnants for making isolators for your antenna feedpoints.
Hmm interesting James.
Looks Great Chuck. My question is why do they fed hex beams from the top?
I'm not sure why but they all feed at the top, if I hadn't seen it like the I would have feed from the bottom lol.
Looks good - start with a good idea and then just keep refining.
Hi Chuck, can you tell me where did you get the spreader arms? Seem to be part of camping tents. Regards
I purchased the tent poles
on Amazon, amzn.to/3Ue5OXU
nice job Chuck
Thanks Clif!
Good upgrades Chucky!😂The thumbnail should be used for product stickers.😁👍
Do you have a drawing for the dimensions? I was thinking about making one of these and the dimensions you have would fit on my mill lol
Flat edge to flat edge is 4.75" and point to point is 5.5"
Thank you looking for more of the build video
Chuck have you ever used lightening holes in the base plate?
Lol look at the old one but not on purpose good Idea!
What is a good website that has the build instructions. How long at the fiberglass poles? How long are the top support ropes? Where do I find the clips you used? How do I weave the wires inside the hex?
What are those yellow things you are using to hang the wire?
They are insulators for electric fencing.
Thanks for the video! 73 de Bill
Thank you for watching and the comment Bill!
Are those tent poles?
Yes they are tent poles other companies call the tubing by it's real name but just tent poles.
roof rake or pool vacuum handle what do you think for the center
