    The hoarder in me gravitates towards the 75-100 ml bottles. But I’m usually happiest when I buy the 15-30 ml ones when I see that I’ve stopped reaching for them so frequently after the newness has worn off.

    • @wendisparadeofperfumes5034
      @wendisparadeofperfumes5034  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's true. After it's not shiny and new a nice 30 ml is very satisfying. Not to much, not too little.

    If u pay close attention by the time you use up 5 to 10ml of any given fragrance the novelty starts dying off and we stop reaching for it. That’s why I prefer 10mls. If I run through the 10ml, I get another 10ml, by the end of 20ml I would have moved on to something new. This way I don’t have 80ml left sitting on my shelf. That’s my method this year and moving forward. I own about 30 bottles with almost 100 decants and I feel so overwhelmed by decision fatigue each day.

    I'm a fan of the 100ml, most of my collection are 100ml bottles. I feel like the 30ml looks like they belong on a child's vanity 😆 I just can't. That being said I am a heavy sprayer and wear perfume to bed every night as well. I really go thru my bottles. However I do enjoy a 10ml to try out a perfume if I'm unsure so I can really get a few good wears and get to know it. But tbh I don't even count 10ml, miniatures or below that as a part of my collection lol its more like a sample or well I tried it once or twice.

      There is something about a true full bottle isn't there? And yes somehow the 30s are so practical but they miss the mark. Lol if I don't count 10 and under I surely have a lot less perfume on my shelf!

    Im a freshy person so I do feel like I need the bigger size bottle. Need more sprays or more frequent reapplications. If I was partial towards ambers and heavier, more robust perfumes, I 😊would probably aim for 15-30ml sizes.

    Hi, Wendi! I just discovered your channel and I’ve been binge watching your videos. I think you have one of the very best fragrance channels on TH-cam! I’ve had a tendency to buy the 100 ml bottles because they are a better value, but I agree that the smaller bottles are more aesthetically pleasing. Even though I have a small collection, I am decluttering because life is too short to wear fragrances you don’t love or that don’t lift your mood (there are some perfumes I love but they contribute to my melancholia).

    This was fun and that's from a fellow hoarder! There are really so many factors when it comes to buying the right size but that Nicolai Parfums is the perfect example of right size, right price, right design and proportion. Most smaller bottles seem to be deliberately disproportionately looking like the 30ml Tom Fords, the 30ml Ormonde Jaynes.

    • @wendisparadeofperfumes5034

    I have collected about 50 bottles (various sizes - mostly partials) and 200 samples. I started collecting during the shutdown but haven't bought any in the last year. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anymore since I realized I was becoming an addict. It's also a very expensive hobby. Also trying to live a more green lifestyle. I want to sell about half of what I have but I've been procrastinating...I really hate posting and packaging, etc. - all the work that goes into selling. I'm a one spray gal and so I've had samples that last me years, lol.

    Lately I’ve been buying 10-15 ml sprays, because I’m a light sprayer. Aesthetically the 50 ml or larger are visually appealing. But realistically I know they won’t get used and will take up a lot more space. For sure the larger sizes are more bang for your buck, but only if you’ll actually use it up. It’s a conundrum. 😄 Interesting topic!

      A 15 ml spray will last forever if you are a light sprayer and if you have a few bottles. Logically it's really an ideal bottle size.

    Oh my there are so many factors but I must say I enjoyed the discussion. My collection is small maybe 30 bottles including 10mls. I find 50mls of perfumes I like to be great. Fragrances i feel I may like and have to blind buy 30mls. I would of liked 15mls but I pay lots of taxes when I order online here in the caribbean so 30mls make more financial sense. 100mls for perfumes I love.

    I was so happy to see a new video from you today! Happy new year Wendy! In regard to your video topic. I guess my collection isn't large enough that I feel I have to limit the sizes of the bottles I purchase to the smallest available. If it's a love after testing, I go with the 70 to 100 ml. However if it's ridiculously expensive, by default if I still want it, I sometimes have to go with the smaller size 50ml. I tend to wear those fragrances less often because of the price and having less of it to be liberal with. Not many fragrances seem to come larger than 100ml, but I will say it can be a much better value to buy bigger if you are in love with a fragrance because you will use it all up quickly no problem. The mega bottles only work if you use it a lot because it would potentially go bad if it wasn't used. If I keep adding to my collection I may end up with the smaller bottle philosophy. Or I may go to a one in only after I use one up. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! - Jenn

    New sub here 🙋‍♀🙂 Makeup used to be my thing and I have developed a big enough collection and now that I'm in my 40's, I basically gravitate to the same things (less experimentation and just grabbing what works , and more natural looks). So, I've stared getting into fragrance. I prefer 30ml bottles for seasonal frags and either 50 or 100 (depending on the deal I can get) for my main loves. It's always SO tempting to buy bigger because it's a better deal! I have to slow my roll and talk myself into what's more realistic (for me, just an average user without a huge collection). My philosophy is that if I like something enough to go through a travel size or 30ml, then I'll invest in the bigger size. I'm loving the mood shifting benefits of frags lately. I'm going through some circumstances that are beyond my control and I find myself gravitating to frags about 3x per day for a bit of self care, enjoyment, and uplifting. I look forward to each phase of the day when I either respritz or layer :)

    Also... I too got one of those sweet Guerlain 200 mls for Christmas but mine was Cuir Belugia. When I tested it, I knew it could be a frequent wear option for me and the value per ml price difference was worth it. I have a sample to try of the Oud Nude. I haven't tried it yet because I might love it... And I will have to wait quite a while to get it. 😅 I always calculate the price per ml and it is always a factor in my purchases. Sometimes I choose one fragrance over another if I like them equally because of the perceived value difference. After all... We only have so much discretionary income and need to choose how we spend it wisely.

    my favorite size is 30 or 50ml bottles. i think even if time/space/money wasn't a concern. (this assumes the company continues to produce the fragrance in the same formulation as when i first purchased/ fell in love with it! sigh.) i have bought 100ml bottles of fragrances for various reasons and they just take up too much space, and/or have gone off before i finish using them, etc. also, having a decent-sized collection, it's only so often that i'm going to wear a particular fragrance.
    i think the larger bottles, like the 150ml/200ml bottles, might be made to cater to the middle eastern market, where it's common to use lots more fragrance (per wear) than we do. i've read that middle eastern customers will often buy 3-4 bottles at a time of the smaller sizes (say 50-100ml) and even then will use up that much within a year or so.

  • @Blessed-me6tf
    @Blessed-me6tf ปีที่แล้ว

    If you suffer from perfume addiction like me 😂 make 10ml bottles your best friend since you are constantly buying more. Accumulating 100ml and 50ml will take decades to finish.
    10ml = low commitment. Don’t forget your nose and scent preferences might change before you finish that big bottle!
    Every single bottle on your shelf is your hard earned money sitting in liquid form staring at you, waiting to expire. Fragrances are not investments, you will never get your full money back. Enjoy it wisely and move on.
    “The more bottles you own, the worse you smell” because we get too busy testing different things instead enjoying the scents we truly love. Having too many options means you get less chances to wear your loves.
