Five Guys is one of our top two burger places also, my number one though is Pal’s Sudden Service. We save a little money at Five Guys by skipping the drinks, just getting us a burger each and splitting a small order of fries like y’all did. It is a little pricey, but the food is always excellent, it’s always hot , cooked when you order it. So I’d rather spend my money there than go to a fast food place where the food is usually not hot and quite often not even correct sometimes. Hello, good review! The food looked good. Five Guys is a burger and fries restaurant, they do sell hotdogs, but they don’t have toppings like slaw and chili, most of that would get thrown away. Restaurants have food cost to consider, I used to work with food! Thanks for the great review!
Thank you for watching. Yes, I found out that they don't have it. But I do think if they are going to sell hot dogs, then they should have what typically goes on hot dogs. And my wife also pointed out that slaw is something that a lot of people like on a hamburger, as well. So, it wouldn't be like they would have to carry it just for the hot dog. But thank you for watching, and for commenting.
First time our family ate at Five Guy’s was in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. After a few years our city finally got a franchise here. It seems that our local Five Guy’s is not as generous with their toppings and the amount of fries. I thought perhaps it was the worker who was adding the toppings but discovered it’s been that way since I remember. I now ask for extras. Seriously, I never ate a hot dog with coleslaw. It’s not even an option in Johnstown, Pa. Pulled pork sandwiches that I make at home, I tried just a little bit but I didn’t care for it. I really think it’s a regional thing. We definitely cannot get southern food and I enjoy many of the fixins. I know I took Sandal’s on vacation and we looked everywhere. When we came home, they were waiting for me on a kitchen chair pad. I even told my husband I remembered wearing them! He gave me “That Look “ when I said, “Found them “! He just shook his head and smiled! 🤣😂 Blessings to you both.
It's interesting, how different areas of the country eat things different ways. In North Carolina, a hot dog "all the way", is slaw, mustard, chili, and onions. Obviously, I don't eat the onions, but I do want the rest of it on there. I'm sorry the Five Guys near you is not generous. Pretty much every one I've ever been to down here, loads you down with the fries.
In my mind a patty melt isn’t truly a patty melt if it isn’t on rye bread. That’s the way I grew up with them. No comparison. I’ve tried them on other bread and was disappointed every time.
I've never gotten one, but here's what I found online. It appears that it's a regional thing... "The sandwich consists of a ground beef patty topped with melted cheese (traditionally Swiss cheese) and usually with caramelized onions between two slices of griddled bread (typically caraway-seeded rye or marbled rye, though sourdough or Texas toast are sometimes substituted in some regions, including the Southern U.S.)"

@vafunseekers As far as being able to go to a steakhouse for the same price, probably not. But Five Guys sure does give it a run for its money, as far as price goes. It is by far, the most expensive hamburger place we've ever been. That's why we don't go more often. If I'm going to spend that kind of money anyway, I'd rather have a steak. im sorry I just cant agree with you on 5 guys. i was just there a couple weeks ago and ordered a cheeseburger ( california style) and a small fry. the fries were barely in its container and scattered all over the bag and also heavily salted down( i never asked for salt). the burger was a bit of a mess also with sub par tomatoes and lettuce on it. the part that bothers me the most is it costed me almost $19 dollars for that. i will not be returning anytime soon if ever at all.
@BobL84 You are certainly not obligated to agree with us on that. But we clearly did show how many fries they gave us, and it was plainly a lot of them. And since they are so well known for their fries, most people do think they are excellent quality. We do, as well. That's our personal review of what we think of the fries there. I really don't know why they even put the cup in there, because the cup is basically pointless. There's no way it can hold the vast number of fries that they give you.

@@genehinders9639 Yes, she loved the patty melt. I do think if they are going to offer a hot dog on their menu, they need to have the toppings that are traditionally associated with a hot dog. They did have relish, but I don't even use that. I'm a slaw, chili, and mustard guy when it comes to a hot dog.
Nice review. The menu was entertaining. Who knew that the two "sugar bombs" - ketchup and BBQ sauce, were so different in calories. Ketchup is 20 and BBQ sauce is 80!!! I always thought they both were variants of flavored sugar and equal in calories. Burgerr prices didn't seem bad - they were each under $10 and certainly not a ripoff like some of the casual burger places.
the hot dog is hebrew nation all beef 1/2 pound you can buy them in the grocery stores. I like the way they fry the hot dog but it needs cole slaw or chilli.
@BigEd1971 It certainly does need coleslaw and chili. I didn't know if it was Hebrew National, or Ballpark. But it was a really good hot dog, otherwise.
I had five guys before in Texas but the staff there made fun at handicap little girl .im Partial Disabled ny seft and losing my eyesight. So after seing this i never went back
Never heard of this chain establishment. I'm so glad we don't have a lot of these near us because I worked too hard to lose 60 lbs 7 years ago! If I were younger I could chance it but when you get older your metabolism leaves the building!
@freeandfancy Yes, that is true. It's harder to lose weight than it used to be. We are curious as to where you live, that you don't have Five Guys. I'm thinking they are pretty much nationwide now.
A true patty melt is on rye bread, doesn’t look like that’s what they use. Seems like just a burger on toasted bread. Five Guys just too expensive compared to our In and Out Burger. Five Guys fries look very good, I like fries cooked to a golden brown like they do.. Thanks for review.
Since I've never gotten one, I had to research it. Apparently, a patty melt can use different bread, depending on what region of the country it's in. Here is what I found...
Don't care for a plain hotdog without toppings. The burgers seemed to not have any taste last time we went, and we don't care for crispy fries, and tell them that. We like steak n shake as well. Safe travels and God bless.
@MikeM.1971.GenX. it wasn't. Not sure what video you watched. There were several people there. Have you ever eaten at one? If you haven't, then I'm not going to argue with you about the quality, because we just did. Anything else?
No, it's a personal preference. The burger stays warm inside the tin foil, but fries get cold pretty quickly. Who wants cold fries? And what was funny? Personally, I'm all for letting people eat however they want to eat. That's just not a big concern of mine. It seems like the people who are the most concerned about how we do things, are always first-time commenters. I wonder why that is?
I don’t mind paying more for good food that we like. My problem with 5 guys is as soon as we get our food out comes the broom and they start sweeping like they closing up for the night. Some 5 guys not as bad as the others. No one wants someone sweeping while you trying to eat. It’s just me I guess.
I guess there's an upside and a downside to that. It is the idea of them keeping the restaurant floors clean, that some might find appealing. Thanks for watching.
The wife and I stopped at five guys and had a hotdog and a hamburger and fries and two waters. The total cost ended up being $27. That was a year ago and never again will we be going to five guys?
first time me and my wife eat at 5 guys we tried to order 2 large fries the person said you never ate at 5 guys before , she assured us one order of fries would be enough and it was
Absolutely. And we wanted to make people aware of that. When people hear "small fries", they automatically think of what most fast food places serve. We didn't want people to make that mistake here. Thank you so much for watching!
I've eaten at Five Guys twice, the price has gone up a lot since the last time I ate there. The first time my grandson and I ate there we said we wanted two orders of fries but the man taking our order assured us we only wanted one order, he was right.
@ritalockett9788 Yes, even a small order of fries is basically more than what we need between us to share. It took us forever to get them eaten. Thanks so much for watching!
You can literally go to Longhorns and feed a family of 4 cheaper than Five Guys. I don’t know how they ever sell a hot dog. I’ll take the #17 at Steak n Shake for $4.99 over any burger joint. Yall need to hit the road full time 😀
We would love to, but we are not quite at that point. It's going to be a while on that one. We agree, that Five Guys is expensive. But we have several reviews at Longhorn, and the way to build a channel, is to have a wide variety. Plus, again, she wanted to try the patty melt that she read about online. Longhorn isn't doing that. But we do love a good Longhorn steak. Thank you for watching.
@@jakethebarber1We just went down I-75 through Pasco County, on our recent vacation. Very familiar with that road. We've been to Waffle House, but I don't think we've ever gotten the patty melt. That's why we put the reviews out...So people can decide if they want to go or not. Personally, we have never been to Smoky Mountain Brewery, and won't go because of the name of it.
I did not call you any names, Sir. I said you were being a troll. That is certainly how your comment came across, but perhaps unintentionally. I regret the misunderstanding. No worries. No hard feelings. We did not get robbed. These videos generate an income for the channel, and in just the 2 days it has been up, it has made more than the meal cost. @larryramsey3208 Well, we appreciate that. You are free to comment on here, even in disagreement. That doesn't hurt the channel in any way. We all have our opinions. Let's just be respectful to each other. I apologize for the disagreement.
I agree, that Five Guys is more expensive than the average burger chain. I think we said that in the video. But you do understand that we make money on the advertisements on this video, and the meal pays for itself?
@@h4l414 I didn't read too much into anything. If you'll recall, I asked you what you meant. Literally, my very first response. Asking for clarification, is not reading too much into it. It actually means I wasn't reading anything into it.
Way over rated and WAY OVER PRICED ! Do yourselves and your viewers a big favor and go to Boss Hogg BBQ in Sherrills Foard for the BEST hamburger and most reasonably priced in the area ! I challenge you to !
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, as we are. But issuing a "challenge" on where to get a burger? Seriously? Don't need a challenge on where to eat a burger. We rarely get to Sherill's Ford, but if we do, then we will give it a try. Certainly not driving all the way down there, just for a burger. But if we're in the area, then sure. Honestly, if I were going to a BBQ place, I'd probably get brisket, ribs, or pulled pork. I don't generally get a burger at a BBQ place. We said in this video, why we went to Five Guys...My wife wanted to try the patty melt. And she said it was one of the best she's had. Did you try the patty melt? I ask this, because we have been to Five Guys numerous times, so we actually know whether or not we like the food there, because we can taste it for ourselves. We can decide for ourselves, if it is overrated. As for expensive, yes, we said it was. But our meal cost $36.00, and in the week the video has been up, it has made more than double that. So, I think we did okay. But we appreciate the concern. Thank you for watching.

The food looks good. I am like you, I like slaw and chili on a hotdog. Hope you both are having a good weekend. 0
@cathymcgee1674 We are having a very good weekend. And we hope you are, as well.
I fully agree with you about the hot dog
My mom and I always love Five Guys all times only lunch and supper. ❤❤❤
Very delicious 🤤 juicy double cheeseburger 🍔 and fries 🍟 perfect 👍🏻 at my hometown Asheville. Just first time ate lettuce wrap burger very delicious 🤤 no without bun, oh wow love it. 🫶🏻❤️🫶🏻❤️
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Good review, I’m sure they are good, I could eat the fries. I don’t eat beef because of cholesterol. So glad you got the mics going again. I hate the garbage music that seems to be everywhere. Love the old hymns!!
Yes, I fully agree with you. Seems most restaurants today, think people want to hear a concert.
@@NCMemoryMakers amen brother
That dog does seem lacking...needs some extra toppings I agree!
The Mrs is a big PattyMelt fan too....sounds like it was a good choice.
@@NCMemoryMakers I'm with you on that!
Thank you for watching, and we are glad you enjoyed it.
the hot dog is hebrew nation all beef 1/2 pound you can buy them in the grocery stores. I like the way they fry the hot dog but it needs cole slaw or chilli.
@BigEd1971 It certainly does need coleslaw and chili. I didn't know if it was Hebrew National, or Ballpark. But it was a really good hot dog, otherwise.
Five Guys does load you down with fries.I have never ordered a large, but I would imagine it would come in a five gallon bucket.
@@keitheverhart9556 Lol... that's probably about right. We've never ordered a large, but I would like to see somebody do it one time.
If you are ever in Greeneville Tn you need to try Pal's . Very good food.
There are several Pal's locations in Northeast Tennessee. A few in southwest Virginia, as well.
I had five guys before in Texas but the staff there made fun at handicap little girl .im Partial
Disabled ny seft and losing my eyesight. So after seing this i never went back
come on down to eastern NC to Winterville and try Angus Grill Great Hamburgers
We will have to give it a try, if we are ever down in that area.
Thank you for watching.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend
You too!!
Don't care for a plain hotdog without toppings. The burgers seemed to not have any taste last time we went, and we don't care for crispy fries, and tell them that. We like steak n shake as well. Safe travels and God bless.
Thank you for watching. I do love the burgers there, but I do agree about the hot dog needing more on it.
If the restaurant is so good, why is it empty?
@MikeM.1971.GenX. it wasn't. Not sure what video you watched. There were several people there.
Have you ever eaten at one? If you haven't, then I'm not going to argue with you about the quality, because we just did.
Anything else?
We like 5 guys but it's on the other side of town, the high traffic issue convinces us to go somewhere else.
Yes, I can understand why heavy traffic would make you want to go somewhere else. Thanks for watching.
never saw someone sit and wait to eat burgers till fries gone..lol...is that a southern thing?
They are priced pretty high. There's no denying that.
first time me and my wife eat at 5 guys we tried to order 2 large fries the person said you never ate at 5 guys before , she assured us one order of fries would be enough and it was
We love Five Guys even when we had to eat in the truck during Covid. I like a hotdog with mustard so I may try that sometime. Thanks for the review.
DUH...lol
Duh? Not sure what you mean. Can you elaborate?
I love me a good patty melt, last one was at Waffle House off 75 and state rd 52 in Pasco County FL
@@jakethebarber1We just went down I-75 through Pasco County, on our recent vacation. Very familiar with that road.
We've been to Waffle House, but I don't think we've ever gotten the patty melt. Thank you for the suggestion.
I usually get the Texas toast cheese steak when I'm there. But I'm sure she will want to try the patty melt on her next visit.
Steak-n- Shake are good, except for their fries.
We also like their fries, especially with the cheese and seasoning on them.
and for your money you get your food in a paper bag and fries you eat them from the bag??? thanks for the review, but I wont be going there...
Your choice. That is why we put the reviews out there...So that the viewer can decide for themselves.
I agree with you Shawnasi! The garlic burger is my favorite! The more garlic, the better!😋
@nancymcdaniel4733 Yes, absolutely. That is both of our favorites at Steak 'n Shake.
Thank you for watching!
I will spend the money to go to Smokey Mountain Brewery and have onion rings and a great burger , never been impressed with 5 guys or Red Robin ......
That's why we put the reviews out...So people can decide if they want to go or not.
Personally, we have never been to Smoky Mountain Brewery, and won't go because of the name of it.
I think five guys is overpriced my wife and I went there and we thought the price is unbelievable
@@lylelynch6173 They are expensive. There's no denying that.
I just deleted the comment. It’s not worth being called names over a hamburger or hotdog. Take care.
That is why I indicated you may not know how TH-cam reviews work.
Have a great evening, and take care.
@@NCMemoryMakers Well I sure don’t wanna hurt it in any way. Seems like you’re good people.
@larryramsey3208 Well, we appreciate that.
You are free to comment on here, even in disagreement. That doesn't hurt the channel in any way. We all have our opinions. Let's just be respectful to each other.
I apologize for the disagreement.
Cant hide money....
What does that mean?
@NCMemoryMakers funny way to say something is expensive.
I agree, that Five Guys is more expensive than the average burger chain. I think we said that in the video. But you do understand that we make money on the advertisements on this video, and the meal pays for itself?
@NCMemoryMakers Yeah, you are reading too much I to the comment. Is how friends joke about things that cost more than they should, lighten up.
@@h4l414 I didn't read too much into anything. If you'll recall, I asked you what you meant. Literally, my very first response.
Asking for clarification, is not reading too much into it. It actually means I wasn't reading anything into it.
Ray bread bla 👎🏼
What??
Been to this one many times! 🩷 the Buc-ees shirt 🩷 Check out the new Rural King 🙂
@princessleia1777 Yes, we'll have to check that out. We just learned about it in the live stream last night. It's in a part of Hickory that I don't go to much, and I wasn't aware it was there.
Yes, she has a few Buc-ees shirts. She likes to get them whenever we stop at one.
@@NCMemoryMakers Sub Station 2 is a good one to try if you like subs. There are two locations in town. One is closer to the mall area and the other is farther out of town.
