What a neat little place to eat with great atmosphere inside and out. We love sweet potato fries but not sure we have had the lattice style cut ones, or at least I haven't. Would love to see that place in the summer when the daylight is longer to take in the water views. Glad yall enjoyed yalls meals!
What a lovely place to dine and a great story to hear also, had no idea about the flag. North Carolina has the most neat places to visit and to eat. We are new subscribers and are going back and trying to catch up, loving all the videos from Little River, Calabash etc. I love me some good seafood 🍤 Have you ever been to Ashe County Cheese Store in Jefferson? It’s a neat place, you probably have. You have a gold mine with your channel keep up the good work. God Bless you both.
Thank you so much for watching, and for your kind comment. Yes, we have a couple of videos from Ashe County and West Jefferson, where we go in the cheese factory. We go up there every October around the anniversary of my father-in-law's passing, because he is buried just outside of West Jefferson. You can search our channel for those videos. Thank you so much for subscribing, and we hope you continue to enjoy all of our content.
So sorry for your loss. Jefferson is a great town. We like to start on one end of Main Street and go up and then go down the other side, lots of neat stores. Guess we haven’t gotten to those videos yet. 🤗 Love your name by the way, had never heard it before.
@user-ru9wp4vs5m Thank you. Her father passed away in October, of 2010. We always go up to visit his grave on the Saturday after the anniversary of his passing, and we just spend the day in that area.
Wonderful review, enjoyed the thoroughness from the history of the moon flag made in Rhodhiss and Catawba River to the ambiance of the interior of the Copper Penny. The steaks looked great, it was a great experience to tag along with you, thanks for sharing!
I am from Hickory and now live in Newton and I was getting ready to suggest this place to ya'll when this video popped up. I like Prime Rib night also.
@staceywestbrook8466 If there was, I don't remember it. And I've been going there a long, long time. I'm trying to think of a place with a similar name to that, but I can't. The closest I can remember, is I think there might have been a Copper Kettle.
I'll have to check this place out! My grandma grew up in Rhodhiss. My grandparents met at the old theater in Granite Falls--she had actually walked down there from Rhodhiss.
LOL! That was her first time making it back in the early years. We all had a good laugh, but I kind of felt sorry for her. She didn't know. But it is funny all these years later. She does a fine job with it now.
Will have to try this restaurant. Love the Lake Hickory area! Great video! Thanks 👍🇺🇸
So glad you enjoyed it. We really enjoyed our experience there.
So cool. I retired from precision fabrics in vinton va. I was a weaver operating over 65 machines. All production work

@user-ru9wp4vs5m Her name is rather unique. It was her dad that gave it to her.

Enjoyed your review, and it definitely looks like it would be a great place to eat outside in warmer weather!

Food looks great, but why do they not provide rolls or bread?
I don't know. We didn't even think about bread, to ask.
Wasn't there a Copper Penny restaurant in Gatlinburg in the 80's?

Yes, these were really good.
We have not been disappointed at Copper Penny.
We weren't disappointed on our first visit, either.
Is that why you eat out a lot 😂 , no asparagus tips 😂 just kidding. 😅
