same, im not fan of it too. i dont like being in front of class and i hate going on stage with something what i know im not very good at. im slowly getting over the stage one though. last school year i literally bailed the dance lessons for christmas party of my school so i had a reason to not dance in front of the school (i have bad balance and im a bad dancer) but this recent school year what finished this year, i even learnt one part of the dance in one day because just day before school christmas party my best friend’s (who has serious anxiety and like that) dance partner in our class’s dance broke her leg and my friend had an anxiety attack because she thought she has to do it alone then. and i went to our teacher and just told her i will take that spot and learnt it in less than 12 hours until as perfect as i could just to help my friend out. i was really nervous but me and her had fun together

can we just take a moment to acknowledge this is everything she does in 1 day only. the productivity omg
i mean yes it's a lot but this is also just one day! and college is also super weird in that some days are a ton of work and others you'll just have a single class or no hw at all - it's not like high school where it's hw every night, some days are super stressful and others not at all! I'm definitely not this productive every day and I seriously struggled with staying motivated in quarantine. which is totally okay ! we're in a pandemic, and it is 100% fine to not be operating at your highest level or be productive all the time - it's important to be kind to ourselves as we adjust xx

Just remember, you are no less valued for what you do/ do not do during a day. I think that you have to do what is best for you! If that means not doing anything in a day and taking time to rest- that should be your priority, not comparing yourself to others

i was amazed by the way you talk confidently in front of the class. if that me, i probably having an anxiety or panic attack. never be that good in talking in front of people by the way. may be you can make a room tour for that room.
this was me my WHOLE life!! my face gets really red and hot and my heart starts beating really fast whenever I talk in front of the class. It's been this way for as long as I can remember, and for some reason being online is worse!! I try to remember that everyone gets nervous sometimes and that even if I mess up no one will care, and I prepare as best as I can by having my notes in front of me and planning what I'm going to say so I don't get stuck! I feel you tho it can be so scary :( honestly the biggest help is just practicing it again and again and proving to yourself each time that you can do it!!

A little bit of a side note but I took a speech 101 class, which was sadly required 😭 anyways, long story short for the class you had to give four or five different speeches. One of them being an impromptu speech as the final. We were given a topic and 5 mins to prepare a 5 minute speech.. it was by far the worst speech I gave. if I have to speak in front of people I prepare my ass off 😭😭😭

Sienna Santer I do the same process to get through the anxiety as best as I can. I notice when I start talking my voice sound surprisingly confident, but on the inside my heart is beating like crazy.

you’re such an inspiration to me. i used to always think of Harvard as an impossible school but your videos inspire me to work harder :) and i loved your little speaking segment in class, I’ve never been a socially awkward person but i definitely am more nervous in front of my class than to strangers. with quarantine I’ve found myself hiding behind a screen and avoiding all chances to show my face or voice besides my closest friends. trying to work on becoming social again haha

Harvard is a lot harder if you’re studying math/computer science or any thing science related(physics, chem)
@@based3211 it’s hard in any way. harvard takes only very talented ppl so it’s not like if u choose business or design or smth else it will be easier to get it. u just have to be best in ur class bc then u have to be better than 3000 candidates
I LOVE how you're actively breaking the dichotomy of girls being "pretty and dumb" or "ugly and smart". We are MULTIPLE FACETED people and not some stereotype from a movie . You show that girls can care about their appearance, be in a sorority AND BE SMART. I know its like duh to say so, but we still (myself included) tend to view others through stereotypical lens. For some reason, this is the best vlog I've ever seen. It's really fun to watch someone intelligent like you study really hard.
I'm impressed of the productive that is your day OMG. My day is literally: Wake up, eat, check social media and sleep. It's not productive at all.
It's been 5 years since I finished university, but I enjoy watching "study with me" kind of videos as I am now a teacher and I still enjoy reading and studying myself. Watching people attend class in their pajamas while lying on the sofa, just made me realize how wonderful uni life was when there were classes in real rooms and we could meet people face to face every day, study together, and spend time together... It's crazy how much life has changed in a year, and how "normal" it seems now, when it's not. I really hope this pandemic ends soon so every student can go back to normal student life, go back to the real world outside of the screen, socialize and study in real libraries surrounded by real people. University taught me SO much in my early 20's about life, and I feel very sad thinking an entire generation is going to miss it :(
Your view on Glossier's marketing is great! It sells an image and a lifestyle instead of the product itself, as if to say "If you use our products you will live this aesthetic and dewy and glowing life!." They also cleverly sponsor influencers who showcase that specific aesthetic. I am currently doing a report on Media and Consumerism so it was great hearing your views on it :D
