Fuel level for the fires affect cooking speed more than anything. This is really apparent on the barbecue. If you “overclock” the fire over 100% items cook noticeably faster you can even see the change in cooking speed when the fire fuel goes from 101% to 100% or 99%.
This is a very interesting observation, we didn't make that connection. Some of our tests with cooking time were inconclusive, so this could have played a role. Thanks for sharing! It would be interesting if you could task your Villagers to maintain the cooking fire at a certain level - but that's probably overkill.
Great stuff 🙂 Which recipe do you think sounds the most delicious? It's between Berries Jam and Garlic Jam for me. Maybe Meat Soup and Carrot Stew as well.
Aww, thanks! Just by the sound of the name? Definitely not Garlic Jam! 😂 Probably Berries Kompot and Scrambled or Poached Eggs. Meat Stew is nothing to be frowned upon either though... damn, now you make me hungry!
You can see all the possible dishes at the warehouse when you place a cooked food storage, and have a worker. Go up to cooked food storage and que a task for the worker, there you will get a list of all possible dishes.
That's true, but you don't see the recipes, only what dishes exist (incl. some seemingly unimplemented ones). Since it would have been too much to cover, we'll have a separate guide for Cooking Recipes.
Thank you! Yes, coast is close by as well. Regarding the Mine - with how it currently works, it actually turned out to be a bit nightmarish at the beginning. Crawlers spawn fairly fast and Villagers go in there (like idiots) to collect stuff and almost get themselves killed on a regular basis. Sadly there are no access rules or anything that can be set, so we have farmers, hunters, etc. go into the Mine - especially in the beginning, you'll have to keep a close eye on it. Not sure why it doesn't show my previous answer, but in case you can't see it either: Fish is cut into pieces just like large Meat Hunks, you drop the fish on the ground and then harvest it with a knife by holding R. BBQ workers and cooks do the same as long as they have knives and fish or meat recipe as active tasks.
When you interact with the cooking pot and add ingredients, the bar just above the ingredients indicates water. As long as you have enough water in your water pouch (in your inventory or shortcut bar), you can press the plus icon to the left of the bar to add water. You will then see the bar grow blue, depending on how much water you add. You can see it very briefly at 8:18 in the video.
@@Pixelcave Yah. Thanks I have a look on my water pot is always empty. Then I saw the R button to fell it up. I overlooked that there's an R option when I go to any water well. I thought i have to go there and just drink. hahaha!
Not sure if you missed it, since there's even a timestamp, but at 2:00 we explain exactly that - the method of unlocking cooking recipes. If you want a full list of all available cooking recipes, that's a different video (also linked in the video, description and pinned comment).
Thanks, but I really don't know why you need to tell someone their voice/talking is awful. If you think that way, that's fine, but not everything needs to be said. Not very kind.

Great info, thank you. I saw you built the village around the mine, are you also close to the coast? Would you share your seed?

Keeping your fire fueled in the red zone will also cook your food faster.
Great tip, yes! We only figured this out later, also in regards to warming yourself faster at fires in winter and such. Definitely good to know! 👍

Easy to overlook, indeed. At least you can relax a bit more now with the extra stash of water. 😆
