Great video. I currently live in Edinburgh and just wanted to say that, as a Scottish person, I really appreciated the fact that you pronounced the word "Edinburgh" perfectly. I know words can be hard for other dialects but you smashed it. Thank you. I am glad that you enjoyed your trip.
so glad to find your channel - great commentary and nice voice and i feel i am travelling to places i have never visited and doubt i ever will - so from one introvert to another - thanks - great channel
I’ve been saving these videos for the week leading up to Ireland for excitement and to destress. So cool! Oh and the big sashes for kimonos are called Obi. They’re so cool!

Well, I just happened to find your vlog. Love it. I am a crochet person and don’t know how to knit really. I know only to do the first very basic knitting stitch. That is all but enjoying your video. I sub to see the rest of your trip. Looks like you had lots of fun so far. I guess I will be following you and perhaps find a video for real beginners to learn how to knit.
Fantastic recap! I can almost feel the gorgeous sweater-weather and yummm all that food! The ferry fish and chips were just unbelievable! Can’t wait for part 2!
Oh, boy, sign me up! What a fantastic trip so far. The knitting and textile bits are super, but also I would love to tour the ship and the museum. You look so pretty with the North Sea wind blowing your hair!
It really was amazing! I think you would have really enjoyed yourself. Maybe one day you'll find your way onto one of my tours. I would love that! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed :)
Hi - just for the record, there is a large pod of dolphins which makes its home just outside Aberdeen harbour. However, looking at the ones you saw and the way they moved, they might well have been porpoises - it's that wheeling motion. Great video btw, and am just about to catch up on episodes - 4. Don't know how I haven't come across you before - the algorithm has been letting me down!
I’m so happy you had a good time in the most beautiful country in the world - yes I’m Scottish and therefore biased 😂 I also love that you leaned in to the fact Scottish summers are rubbish and you were happy that you could wear all your gorgeous knits ❤ also, stunning pronunciation of Edinburgh!
You are so brave ! 💜 🏴 someday I wish to go, but I definitely need a tour guide friend ! Loved this . Thank you so much for bringing us along!! 😊
I was very surprised seeing you knitting ❤❤continental. Real Scots use the throwing method. Just a wee bit info. Enjoy the rest of your wonderful trip. 🇨🇦❤️🏴
Hi Rachael! So happy that you got such great video of our trip. I was sorry to have missed the first event as my plane was delayed. Can’t wait for the next installment. My husband enjoyed seeing what I was to, in Scotland. P.S. I hope you didn’t get sick at the end of the trip like me and four other fellow travelers.
How fun!You are blessed. My English grandparents draw me there because Walter Dawson,my grandpa that came to America, his mom’s maiden name was Bowes Lyon,Queen mothers maiden name. Love Scottish accents. You’re blessed. I have to go there before writing book,a memoir.
Thanks for sharing your Edinburgh recommendations! I live in Glasgow and have hardly been to Edinburgh, I've just been to the National Museum of Scotland and a couple of vegan restaurants but I'll definitely check that makers' market out next time I fancy a day out.
Thank you lovely to see my home country through a visitors eyes. Ps. I went to Antarctic this year Ona cruise. Met a great group so knitting pals and we would meet up most days for chat and crafting while discussing the next ports yarn shops.
Wow…I can’t wait for Part 2! I would love to go to these countries. As a group I was suppose to go during the COVID time to Ireland, Scotland, England. So then 2 yrs. ago we went to France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy. But darn it, never stopped to look for yarn! But I would to go in 2025! Thank you for sharing your experiences. I’m new to your podcast but it captured my eye to your channel with the word Scotland. 🤗🧶

What you thought were scarves in the Japanese costume exhibition were obi. The obi is the long piece of fabric, often silk and often also embroidered, that is wound round the waist to keep the kimono in place. There are various kinds of highly decorative knots made with the obi at the back.
Hello Rachel, Loved your video in Scotland, what I wonted to know is - what was the thing like hanging on your wrist & where did you get it because it cool (I’m registered blind but I can just see a little bit to knit)😊😊 I live in England - south east coast about 2 hours from London 😊

Thanks for the tip of the artisan market in Edinburgh, I will check it next time! Why do almost every youtuber use selfie sticks? I am sorry, we who watch are not interested in anyones face, please just film the surroundings! I suppose it is a generation thing but the narcissim of generation Selfie is more and more annoying.
So glad I found you! We were on a cruise last year that called into Lerwick, Shetland and when we did the Shetland pony experience we were almost eaten by midges 😂. They come out when it rains we were told. Unfortunately I didn’t get to buy any wool as my back was really bad and I just couldn’t do the walking, but I would love to go back one day. Fellow passengers had bought up big and we had a show and tell back on board. We get the series ‘ Shetland’ here in Australia, great show, good armchair travel too. Look forward to more of your tour and your lovely knitting, have subscribed 🥰

Ack! That would have been difficult!
Boots amd Walgreens are now the same company so fab analogy 😅 xx
