The way Prof Bimol Akoijam has looked at the ongoing carnage in Manipur--his ability of self-appraisal, self-criticism, objective and logical approach to the current issue, all the while offering ways to alleviate the situation and the need to go beyond colonial given concepts and terms--manifests how erudite he is. And also, to be able to critique fellow academics' approach to the current mayhem takes not just intellectual superiority but also courage. Thank you, Sir. It was an enlightening observation. It would be great if Karan Thapar and oja Bimol have a discussion on this issue.

We are asking seperate administration for our survival! forget funds we lost our blo.ody homes!!! He is an academician at the end of the day, and remains an idealists. This conflict wont have arise if the valleys are content in valleys but wanna grab the hill areas. His POV on how all the current communal riots in Manipur could be to serve a means to an end - does bring a fresh perspective to any viewer. We want separation. We dont want to go back to the valley where we’re vulnerable and WHERE KIL*ING US IS CELEBRATED. Mind it. Us demanding to prevent ourselves from such incidents again has nothing to do with POLITICS.

One thing is evident; Dr Haokip does not call out any of the Kuki leaders even once whereas Dr Akoijam has enough guts to call a spade a spade on both sides. Dr Haokip's recommendation is that of a separatist, which has been the narrative from CCpur since day 3 of the conflict. When this learned proffsr askd how the army or the police failed... he is indirctly hintng at the plan hatched by the CM and his goons without stating the obvious. He means to say that the situation could have been controlled if the CM wanted to.

Meitei blood had shed more than 3000 years for the safeguard of Kangleipak, people who might have migrated few decades or max hundred years won't understand the relation between the motherland and son of the soil. Just a small observation: debating parties are not able to come to a conclusion because both parties identify different things as the root cause of the present scenario.. doesn’t help if both are right on a different plane… should try to touch upon even those topics no matter how uncomfortable they are, else the cancer will never be cured.
