I strongly feel the reservation systems in our country require thoughtful reform or reconsideration, as there are concerns about certain negative aspects associated with them. By prioritizing merit-based opportunities, we can foster a more progressive and competitive society, promoting healthy growth and development. My heart goes to everyone in Manipur (Both Meitei and Kuki) who have lost their loved ones and livelihood. I wish the conflicts ends for good and peace prevails in the region soon. - Indian from Tamilnadu

Several kings only from the Meitei community used to rule Manipur in early days and now we have been shown in a wrong way in front of the whole world through some media. After having merged with India, our Meitei community represents India in the field of sports, arts and culture and always associate with the nation in the field of education also.We don't go against the nation. Different people from different states of our country have been living happily and peacefully in Imphal valley with Meitei community for many years and we still want peace. This is a good elaboration and gives a comprehensive pic of what is going on in Manipur. There are several factors that went wrong, let alone the impact of colonialism, especially the mindset of divide and rule. The important thing is many communities in India need healing. Acknowledging the problem in the first place is important and no political mudslinging. We can not change the past but definitely make an effort to look forward. The solution must come from the people of Manipur that may satisfy all the communities in peace and harmony.

The meiteis will be allowed to live wherever they want in their own state. They can pursue ST demand without any resistance within.

Mainland Indians don't know Manipur had its written Constitution adopted in 1947 and a council of ministers headed by captain Priyobrata. Manipur merged with India on 21 Sep 1949 with a written agreement. India adopted her Constitution on 26 Jan 1950. The chief commissioner of then undivided British Assam Mr Quinton and other four British officers were executed in Imphal by Meitei in 1891.
Modern Polo is a gift of Meitei people to the whole world. Indian classical dance Rasleela is another contribution. Manipuri language, the lingua franca of the state, has its own written scripnt.
Bollywood Hindi film's popular music director Sachin Dev Burman was born to a Manipuri Meitei lady named Sanasam Nirmala. (SDB's father Nabadwipchandra Dev Burman was also born to a Manipuri Meitei lady named Keisam Jatiswari who was one of the queens of Tripura King Ishan Chandra Manikya who ruled during 1849-1862. SDB's mother and grandmother both were Meitei ladies. Almost all Hindi film songs of Dev Anand were composed by SDB).
Apart from many medallists in Olympic and Asian Games, out of 634 athletes India will be sending to 2023 Asian Games in China, 42 players are from Manipur and Meitei except two or three other brothers.

Indeed it is true like Ms.Palki said that is crucial to understand Manipur's history to understand the conflict.
For millennia Manipur was inhabited by the Mieties and the different Naga tribes. The Kukis as rightly pointed by Ms. Palki were brought in by the Britishers as late as the 1840s.Although the understanding and agreement of bringing in the Kukis from the Chin area of present day Myanmar into Manipur by the Bristishers could have been earlier than that of the 1840s.From a few villages, a mere trickle to today forming 28% to 30% of the population even out numbering the many local indigenous tribes is a perplexing reality.

Yes manipur was a much bigger kingdom. At one point, it used to include parts of Bangladesh around the Chittagong hill tracts and even extended to big chunks of Myanmar in the east. However, there was constant war between Myanmar and Manipur, so there were fluctuations every now and then. By the end of colonial rule, the Map of Manipur had significant become smaller. In 1947, Manipur had its own Constitution, governing policies and Representatives. A merger agreement was signed in 1949 between the king of manipur and India and it officially became a part of India. However, for the sake of diplomatic alliance, a part of Manipur called Kabaw Valley was offered by the then PM Nehru to Myanmar and monetary compensation was asked to be given by Myanmar.
