In this episode of #PoliticalAdda, ThePrint’s Political Editor DK Singh and Amogh Rohmetra discuss the effectiveness of Model Code of Code in the digital era with former IAS officer, author and Convener, Forum for electoral integrity, MG Devasahayam. Clear and hard hitting arguments that expose the dangerous game of the Sangh Parivar and their government.

What Mr Devasahayam said is very true and that it has to evolve as per technology, as per developments in each election and keep interacting with public and political leaders alike on a regular basis to make themselves relevant

A strong opposition is today's need which can pressure the BJP.. A far-right wing opposition

A significant number of the points brought up in this discussion are extremely serious. As a citizen I have been brought up with a strong belief that the election commission is strong independent body but if the EC is being subjected to politically motivated appointments we need a different process at the earliest for appointments to the commision. What are some other methods for appointments to such a body globally to ensure impartial electoral process?

This old man clearly is no fan of BJP or Modi as his views are said with one eyes shut towards the opposition but wide awake towards BJP n Modi.
It’s now becoming a norm nowdays for the english speaking elite group thinking they are the only ones whose fit to rule the country and as such appearing in many youtube channels to slam BJP n Modi but tightly shut their mouth against the opposition parties.

So you prefer hypocrisy of your leaders, say thy are secular, pander to muslims to get their votes but run and pray in temples daily to show to hindus thy are pious after saying want to ban Bajrang Dal?
If you prefer hypocrites as your leaders, so be it but i prefer leaders who hv an ideology and stick to it no matter wat n not sway like grass to get votes from everyone

NAKED HYPOCRISY ruined such an important discussion. The Print could have brought in Yogendra Yadav here. At least, with him, there is NO PRETENSE. One should always call a SPADE a SPADE, but "your" Spade and "my" Spade add no value. The former IAS officer is peddling an agenda-driven one-sided narrative. It makes him UNFIT for this panel. Lalu used to roam around with an Osama Bin Laden look-alike to galvanize Muslim votes; Siddha made the "75% reservation" comment to divide the Hindu votes despite a clearly established Supreme Court ruling. There was also the bogus Amul issue. INC mentioned "sovereignty" in its tweet. These are CLEAR violations alongside whatever Modi and others did.
