This ia the only industry where you can be thoroughly professional, clean, tidy, excellent customer service, and impeccable feedback and still struggle to get work because some smack rat is £5 cheaper. Madness
totally agree i stick to my price and pride myself on my service would rather lose out on a job than run making 50-60ppm seems a never ending supply of boom & bust drivers tho to make it even harder for us just trying to earn a living

Van prices have recently dropped a lot.
Brand new small vans were £20,000, you can get for £16,000 now.
I believe they will drop further.
Roads are diabolical too, pot holes and temp ttaffic lights everywhere must slow you guys up adding to the costs.
I considered doing some delivery driving a while back to top up my feeble pension but decided i didnt need the hastle and i do a bit of dog walking instead.
With the cx, owner drivers need the fleets & syndicates to piss off and maybe we would be ok.
People on facebook jumping into inboxes "can get you on the cx for free" an just take 10/15/20% off each job.
I’ve actually just heard something about this, apparently coming soon. If the vehicles on CX profiles aren’t registered and insured by the profile owner then they’re membership will be revoked

You cant include the cost of van playable in 1 year. The can cost would be spread over several years.
I did say that in the video, it’s just an

80,000 miles per year works out roughly to around 1500 per week and that's not excluding holidays etc. plus how many dead miles. I think almost most single owner drivers would find it almost impossible to do that many miles each week unless they are prepared to tramp every single day.
I personally average between 2000-2500 miles a week and I know a fair few people that do the same. I tramp out maybe once every 2 weeks
Rates haven’t changed in the 8 years I’ve been on cx
Spent 3k in repairs on the van so far this year, I’m close to hanging the keys up for good
When I joined CX 3 years ago the rates were better than they are now. In the roughly 15 years I’ve been in the industry they’ve gone up but only by a fraction of costs going up. Sorry to hear that mate

A lot of my customers sites aren’t easily accessible with anything bigger than a Luton. I was actually considering a trailer to carry more weight
The increase for the van is mental.
I paid £15800 for a 3 year old Peugeot Boxer in August '23 with 40k miles.

You need to stop using delivery apps and try to make contracts with companies to deliver their goods
