I have had the POC Ventrail spin for a couple of years, the fit is superb & the adjustment on the straps is far better than other helmets ive used, I crashed in one & wrote it off but it saved my life so I bought an identical helmet as its replacement, they are the best I have used.

Thanks for doing this review. I decided to purchase this helmet after some light research and watching this video. I've struggled to find a helmet that fits well and looks good. Too many helmets I've encountered have a mushroom/bulb look. (I know helmets are for safety but I still want to look good too 😅)

Great review! I have been considering getting one of these helmets. I can special order one, but our shop doesn't stock them, so your video answered a lot of my questions about the product. Thanks! I've been reluctant to order one because I've always thought that POC helmets were too "mushroomy" in shape and appearance. It looks as if the Ventral Air has done away with that problem! I've now whittled my list of options down to either this helmet or the Specialized Prevail II AnGi Mips helmet. It's a tough decision.

The aesthetics of that helmet sure are good. I guess that comes at a price, eh? I don't need the venting as much as you do. I cut my ride short today because there was a cold wind, and I wasn't dressed for it. When I checked outside my front door, it felt warmer than it did on the bike. And we've got snow flurries forecast for the next couple of days.
It’s priced competitively with others in the class . I didn’t buy this one, it was sent in by a vendor for review.
Do my Oakleys fit in the eye garage? No.1 consideration!!
Helmet is amazing, I had 22mph frontal crash into a big guys chest. He had multiple broken bones while I came out with a small brain trauma. Obviously the helmet broke totally but I bought a new one the same week.
Sorry to hear about your crash, but glad to know your helmet saved you from more serious injuries. I never ride without a helmet, no matter how short the ride. Thanks for sharing ToykoVersace.

One question: Are the lateral straps of the Ventral Spin adjustable in length?
Yes they are somewhat..but not by much. If you size the helmet correctly, then a lot of adjustment is not needed.
Nice video, of the three helmets u have, which is ur favourite and why? I’m guessing the synthe is ur fave?
I just started using one of these 2 weeks ago, the all white variety, the ventilation is very good, noticeably better than my Kask Protone (and Kask Utopia helmet which is more like an aero helmet)
Agree. I have used the Protone in the past and this definitely vents better.
Hi everyone, can someone give a hint regarding the difference between Ventral Air and Ventral Air RACEDAY? From that, I know the last one has a smaller weight. And it looks like there is different outer geometry. is it really so?

Measure your head and see where it falls in on the size chart for the helmet.

After last crash I have to look for a new helmet. My shortlist now is Giro Synth and POC Ventral Air Spin. As you own both - which one you prefer? Than you!
Hard choice as they're both so nice, but I'd lean to the POC for it's airiness...although the Synthe is lighter.

Great review. I'm wearing Giro and Bell (same company) for a few years as my head shape seems to work with these brands. I'm looking at the Ventral right now for it's airflow. I read recently that POC changed their helmet shape to suit more of an oval head shape. Would you be able to comment on this as I see you also have Bell and Giro helmets?

The POC helmet I tested is suited more for round shaped heads. Most vendors supply pads to accommodate different shaped heads. This helmet did not have any extra pads to accommodate oval shaped heads.

This gentleman here is the only person I have seen that can wear this helmet and not look stupid. Most people look like mushrooms with this on.
Thanks Tony, but the Ventral Air spin is shaped less than the really 'mushroomed' style of the Omni. I didn't keep the Omni, because of the shape you mentioned. I like the tweaks they did on the Ventral. It is one of my main go to's when it gets really hot in our area.
Have you ever tried the standard Ventral Spin? I'm trying to decide between the Ventral & Ventral Air. I'm thinking maybe the Ventral will benefit me better. I'm in the Philly, PA area. We get very hot/humid summers, but still experience all 4 seasons. Been looking for comparison on the aero effect between the two & can't seem to find any anywhere.
I suggest you check with the Manufacturer for that specific of a data set. You won't find it in the public domain because there is no market for that.

Thanks for the review! I am going to look at one tomorrow and this was helpful. Also, most helmet manufacturers put the weight of the helmet (in grams) in a sticker inside the helmet. Also, how do you like the Ventral compared to the Synthe?
Hard to say, they’re just so different. I actually like having them both, because of the variety. It would be a difficult choice but if I had to pick one, I’d give the synthe the nod in aesthetics but the POC ventilates better. All POC helmets are an acquired taste. I love the Hydrogen white color though.
@@Veloharmony I agree, that white color is sweet! I went to the shop this morning and tried on the POC and Kask Protone, and went with the protone in white! I found the POC ear straps touching the bottom of both my ears, and they aren't adjustable! The Protone just fit better for me, have you tried the protone yet?

Research both and decide which features are more important to you and choose the model that has those features. Good luck.

You should check out the ABUS Gamechanger and the Met Manta. Both aero and low profile. My medium Abus is 270 grams and my medium Met is only 200 grams.

Not sure if that PoC helmet looks smooth on you, seeing that you always look stylish on all your rides, the Kask utopia helmet would though.
The aesthetics are sweet and I have to thank the Vendor for sending it in for a review. I don't currently have a Kask Utopia, but hopefully one will be sent in for review in the future.
Do you know how it fits with Oakley sunglasses?
Works fine with my Oakley radar lock.
