    I'm excited to have received this beautiful new bike helmet, the POC Omne Air Spin helmet and there are some of my initial thoughts on the helmet! Unfortunately I have to wait a bit for warmer weather/less snow before I get it outside but from looks and fit alone I know I'm going to be happy with this helmet in 2020.

    Great Video!
    Two cents from my side:
    MIPS is primarily aimed to avoid damage on a linear axis and spin reduces the rotational impact by turning the helmet instead of moving the whole head along with it.

    Cheers!

    I really struggle to get strap around my ears in a good configuration. It's a lot of back and forth to get the thing right. The nice thing is once it's set it really doesn't need to be adjusted. There is a lot of friction in that kind of system so the strap doesn't change position easily.

    Just purchased this helmet and tried it on. I noticed that there are two buttons that connect the inner liner/retention system to the shell in the front. If I was to hit my head from behind, these buttons come undone and make the shell feel very loose.
    Anybody else experience this issue, or know why it's designed like that? Feels like it could be dangerous in an actual crash...

    I got the helmet today, it fits my head perfectly, but I notice the strap quality is not as good as my previous MET Strale helmet. MET's strap is more thick and smooth. Another big problem/ design flaw is the "Y strap", you can adjust it left or right, but you can't move it lower or upper. It's a good looking helmet, unfortunately, i have to return it because it doesn't fit my ear.

    • @cycloxer
      @cycloxer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct. I got the helmet and it would've been a keeper if not for this SERIOUS design flaw. It's worthless without being able to move the straps up or down around the ears. Not one mention of this in the video. I've got to send it back now since I can't have the straps on top of my ears.

      Same here, issues with the strap it is very uncomfortable. I bought correct size for my head which is S but the only way to solve strap issues is to get the bigger size M which I don't like it as my head looks bigger. Has anyone fixed this issue?

    Just a quick question, which do you prefer or recommend between the POC and Circuit helmet have there?
    Primarily Urban riding with some light trail riding. Style and comfort would be my priorities, not a fan of bulbous looking helmets.

    • @mikenaus
      @mikenaus  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the question!
      That's a tough call between those two helmets since I think they're both pretty decent! At the end of the day I find, personally, the POC to sit just a bit better on my head. It's definitely my go-to between them.
      Style wise I think they're both really sharp! I think if I were buying the Circuit again I wouldn't buy in black; it's just a wee bit boring to me.

    Hi Mike, I had the exact same MET helmet that you showed in the video, what size is your MET helmet and what size did you get for the POC?

    • @mikenaus
      @mikenaus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I got the medium in the POC and fits me great. That MET Strale is actually a large and it does have a fair amount of room. I had the MET Rivale in a medium for a few years, which fit ok (maybe not as deep as the Omne Air is) but it was pretty maxed out in size. I've tried on a few different MET helmets and I feel like I fall between their M and L sizes.

    • @adrianlau11
      @adrianlau11 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Naus Thanks for replying, I’m also wearing a large for the Strale, but I crashed & cracked it last week :( I also read a few online reviews saying that this POC helmet is a bit bigger than it stated, that’s why I’m not sure which size to pick.

  • @izylldus
    @izylldus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice video! But before I order one, I just need to clarify poc's sizing. I have a relatively small noggin (56cm head circumference) and usually go with small sized lazer helmets. Do you think a small omne air will fit me just fine?

    • @mikenaus
      @mikenaus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Best bet is always to try one on. Personally I found the medium to fit well to slightly oversize (as in a bit deeper than say my Bontrager Circuit), but the helmet shape is also something you should consider. Good luck!

    Strap adjustment is limited with fixed sides. I end up with the chin buckled to one side of my chin. Can't understand why POC would do this...keeping the helmet, but it isn't perfect.

    • @mikenaus
      @mikenaus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Although it was a very comfortable helmet... the straps weren't very adjustable and sometimes irked me.

    • @Sauternes1965
      @Sauternes1965 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree. I received mine yesterday and the L size is perfect for my melon, but the buckle is not under my chin but a little bit on one side.

    I just got this helmet and the strap length is too long. The strap is meeting at my jawline instead of right under the ear like yours is doing.
    I returned it to try another one to see if the one I got was defective or if it’s just the way the helmet was made.
    I tried on the poc ventral at a LBS and the strap length was perfect. Weird...

    I had bought a different helmet on Amazon at the beginning of this summer for my big headed daughter to wear while bicycling and scootering. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0ipcYkXV-2YCp_cBN3HLfzR_OoD0HQYx Well it was WAY too big and not adjustable at all. Previously we had really expensive but adjustable helmets from the local bike store and I didn't really want to pay $50 again for another helmet. I searched and was fairly sure from the reviews that this helmet was what I was looking for- and it was! The pads inside are comfortable, the rim in front provides a bit of shade, but most of all for me there is the dial adjuster in the back which allows for a really secure fit on my daughters head. It seems like it will fit for a few years too which makes me even happier! She loves the pattern and I might end up buying another one for her twin sister (who has a much smaller head!)I definitely recommend this helmet. My daughter is 5 but has a big head. Her twin sister could fit in this one as well but it's a bit big.

    The helmets of this cute-looking brand are very fragile, since their material comes from recycled materials, for example, plastic, their aerodynamics are good, but their strength after the first hit drops considerably. These falls have a defect in the 100 of the head, they are very tight, THEY ARE MADE IN CHINA, so if quality is not completely safe.
