Everyone you can get 10 to 12 hours with the g14 using multiple apps excluding games. All you have to do is install G helper and delete the armory. This alone increase the battery life and makes the g14 be able to be used in 80% brightness md=ode the entire time.
Also apparently for people who dont do 3D, because he says in the conclusion: "If I want on the go I'd pick the Mac, but if youre a 3D modeller you'd go for G14" Now imagine if youre a 3D modeller/architect that wants to do some solid gaming on the side, you read the title and go buy the Mac only to be disappointed because the G14 infact is the one that crushes the Mac at those tasks, not to mention we'll get the new G14/G16 in around 6 months time so if anyone wants something even more powerful they wait for those. I hate videos like these
Actually it's the other way around. G14 is always going after the MacBook since day 1 just that this video made it look like the MacBook had to catch up to the G14.
@@eplugplay8409 G14, and other premium laptops are always chasing mac. But the 2024 model had comparable display, speakers, build quality, portability - Mac's forte. And it was beating mac in CPU, GPU, ram, storage. Only thing mac had better was efficiency (hardware wise). With M4 performance upgrades and higher ram, mac is back at the top again. Nonetheless, both are excellent laptops, it just depends on the use case.
I have the 2024 G14 and I love it to death. It's an absolute joy to use. I'm not an Apple hater (had Macbooks before), but for me the reason why I would still always pick this G14 over the Mac is for one simple reason: it's not a Mac. I just prefer using Windows, I don't want to be locked into Apple's ecosystem ever again and I like tinkering in my OS. That said, I think this year's Macbook Pro is a fantastic machine and if you're someone who does like MacOS: just get this one, you won't need anything else. I won't and I'm sure the Apple fans will have something to say about it, but I'll stick with my trusty G14, which hasn't let me down once in almost a year of very intensive use.
@@naga_rjn Hey, thanks for asking. I'm a bit of a PC hobbyist; I like using weird little programs to tweak settings, or mess around in code. That's a lot harder on a Mac than a PC - the Mac is designed for maximum comfort, maximum ease of use and maximum performance. Everything works out of the box and you don't have to worry about anything, but you sacrifice customizability and you'll be 'locked' somewhat in an ecosystem of devices and apps that will limit your choices. If you're looking for something you can just use right away and never have to worry about, go get that Mac and you won't regret it. Otherwise, I'd recommend Windows or Linux for the freedom it offers.

rocking a g16 4090 here. Absolutely amazing. I like to mod stuff and have the power to do my generative ai stuff using the dedicated GPU or just lay on the couch and watch content. Had mac before, nothing against them but I felt very locked in.
As a owner of both G14 and Macbook. I prefer G14 because of Windows ecosystem. You can basically throw it to every task with no problem. Crazy performance with plug in of course. For power efficiency wise Macbook is the one to go.

I decided to make the switch to mac when my g14 screen wouldn't turn on hours before a I was supposed to give a presentation when I was miles away from home only for it to die minutes before the presentation despite only being off charger for a couple of hours. Before this I thought I'd upgrade to the latest in g14 line - up, but considering my goal is to travel more I went with the mac.
@6:30 I own a 2014 G14 and my screen woble experiences is a bit different than yours, mine doesn't have much flex or wobble at all. Mine is more like the MacBook. Maybe there are just production variations.
It’s a shame the MacBook Pro has the worst response time I’ve ever witnessed on a display. The blur and ghosting is unbearable in a $2000 product. OLED MacBooks can’t come soon enough..

Thank you so much for this review Ben! As I am a 3D artist that focuses among many things in modeling and has been considering the Asus Pro Art P16, but after the M4 announcement it has become really hard to choose as both offer great advantages and some compromises.
Unless you need specific Mac software, the G14 is better all around. If you just need very simple things and long battery life, then neither of these are best for you.
The G14 is not better all around. The Mac M4 Pro beats the G14 in Davinci. Premiere is known to run terrible on Mac. As for gaming the better M4 Max has the performance of an RTX 4080. The Mac is truly superior to the G14.

As a multimedia illustrator on the go, I made the switch to Mac because being able to quickly easily meet my clients needs is my priority even if I’m away from my studio.
I game on windows and the g14, but gaming on mac is getting better, not because of native apps but crossover/whiskey it is straightforward now with less issues, the mac wins in everything other than than running apps and games

I would assume that anyone buying a laptop for gaming would not buy a Mac, so this is more about professional users that want the best device for their specific workload. It shows that the M4 Pro/Max are simply superior in efficiency andf petrformance versus Intel and AMD. So, if macOS has your software then it is a no-brainer for non-gamers to buy the Macbook Pro. This is just facts. If you are not worried about slower performance and battery life i,e, you are caught in the Windows world, then you can buy the G14 even though it would mean you are settling for second best.

I m sure you never have used a high end windows workstation so stop talking crap about things you never used. I use both. Editors at Hollywood doing high end movies almost all use intel or Amd. They use 16bit arri footage. There no way any mac is gonna touch a xeon epyc computer with A6000 cards. Even on engineering that beast can run for 10 days on heavy processing ,try that on a mac and you ll need to dial 911. Try editing a 400GB file 8k 16bit on a M4.
Instead giving results for each laptop one by one in a row, it is much easier for your followers to see the results in one screen at the same time. Maybe seperate image even, but at the same time in one screen... A small recommendation for your future contents.
That would be a bummer for people watching the video on a mobile phone. Split screen is fine for bigger texts and video playbacks comparing the body screen etc. But when you use something like a Bar graph or even histogram etc, it'll be difficult to follow when watched from a smaller device.
Consider price.. I got the g14 pro with the Ryzen 9 / 4060/ 16gb ram / 1tb hd for $998 on sale from Best Buy. With the really nice OLED screen, it really is a great laptop to use. Its not slow at all and powers through any common Adobe project, business work, etc.. There's not a lot of downside for this price.
@@bodigames There is no significant difference between a mobile 4060 and a mobile 4070. These are not the desktop variants and actually differ from Laptop to Laptop performance wise. RAM is not gonna make the biggest difference in gaming. Especially not after the 16 GB range.
With a 3x brighter screen there is more dynamic range within the colors, and it is a higher resolution screen, so you can get more visual garbage pushed into your eyeballs more intensely. Awesome, right? I also know for a fact that me eyes do not have 90% color accuracy and that a brighter picture is easier to see. Anyway, nobody knows what the real world looks like anymore, HDR took care of that.
Even though, Windows have customizability which I love but nothing can beat the consistency of the Mac OS which for me is a deal breaker. But it all depends on personal preference.
I mean, this is a channel aimed at creators and the G14 and Mac can both be used by creators, so I think it's fair to compare them. Gaming is a different ballpark where the Mac is not equipped to play in.

How is windows cheap? For 1000 bucks I have an HP laptop with 16 ram 512 storage and a Ryzen 7 5000 series. For 1000 I have a MacBook Air M3 (faster than Ryzen 7 5000 series) 16 ram and 256 storage. It truly is comparable. It’s not like 5 years ago when you got a trash overpriced Mac with 128Gb 8 ram and some cheap Intel I5 for 1000….. Apple improved a lot

The G14 he used had 32GB ram and a 4070. That is a massive difference.

How is windows cheap? For 1000 bucks I have an HP laptop with 16 ram 512 storage and a Ryzen 7 5000 series.
For 1000 I have a MacBook Air M3 (faster than Ryzen 7 5000 series) 16 ram and 256 storage.
It truly is comparable.
It’s not like 5 years ago when you got a trash overpriced Mac with 128Gb 8 ram and some cheap Intel I5 for 1000…..

funny.. I have this macbook and it can run emulated Wukong in 4K / medium (FSR balanced) on 45fps. EMULATED. And you cant even hear fans...

@@marianbencat6658 and it has to be emulated to do... the G14 will run the same game much better than that. Its cool and all, I love Crossover/Wine/Proton and I'm a big Linux user and gamer... but nothing compares to actually playing games made for Windows in Windows.
