@@giovannicenturino1310 Unfortunately, I think every team is guaranteed at least one player be selected. They may not play, but they are guaranteed at least one All-Star selection.
They have immunity, so we're entitled to know which player used the buzzers and who didn't use it. The immunity agreement was about getting to the truth but we didn't get the whole truth.
I was going to say that answer was written by a lawyer, but as a lawyer, that's only how you would advise a client if they were under oath. This was written by a PR person who thinks they're a lawyer. As a lawyer, I would come up with something better that may not quite be true, but can be walked back. If you're under oath, you have to make sure it's true. But this is just an interview.
If they didn't use buzzers he would have flat out denied it 100%. The fact he danced around the question and saying "oh well Major League Baseball didn't find anything" speaks volumes of his guilt and his absolute bitchness
Using buzzers is one hell of an accusation to be leveled upon a team and its players. For Hinch to not just say hell no we may have stole signs but never did anything that egregious tells me there’s a coverup in the works by both the Astros and the commissioners office to try and save face.
I didn't think that they actually used buzzers until this interview with Hinch. I think his answers show pretty conclusively that they used buzzers....
Of course there's not gonna be any proof that they used buzzers! Buzzers are easy to toss out after every game or hide away. It was VERY obvious Altuve was wearing something under his jersey in game 6 of the ALCS in 2019. He's shy and his wife didn't like it???? BULLSHIT! He was wearing a buzzer and knew if the team ripped his jersey off, the cameras would see that shit instantly. It's such bullshit that these players aren't being punished for it too, nor have ANY of them taken this seriously at all. Altuve trying to spin the "underdog" narrative talking about how "people will forget about it once the season starts" and "they'll be in the World Series again." No honey. We won't forget and every single win the Astros have this year will be picked apart with a fine-toothed comb to make sure they won it cleanly. And every away game they have they'll be met with boos and banging from the crowds. Their season is gonna be HELL and I can't wait.
Lindsay N Seems to me that the rest of the team wouldn’t have tried to tip his jersey off if he had a buzzer under it. They would know. If he had one, he wouldn’t have needed to tell them to NOT do it.
@@earthshine2k That's not necessarily true. They likely knew, but because of the excitement of the moment he was reminding them not to do it. Which is very clear. Had it been for his embarrassment/his wife being mad they would have done that shit anyway.
MLB needs to subject all team dugouts, including player equipment and uniforms, to random inspections to screen for cheating and rules violations. Banks get audited, restaurants have health inspections, sports is also big business and should be held accountable to the rule book, not just taken on their word.
I read a story about a guy who killed his wife. When the police arrived he said he was going to kill himself after, but he couldn't go through with it.
The Nats were warned on this and before the WS came up with a very elaborate set of signs so the Astros couldn’t figure them out. Basically they used coded signs.
People will watch just to see how the Astros are treated. Baseball already isn’t very popular so I doubt anyone’s viewing habits will be influenced by it. If I was an Astros fan I wouldn’t watch. That’s it.
Avery Fabian the nats knew the Astros did that. That’s why they Astros scored in the first few inning and getting shut later. In most of the games with stras and Scherzer. Strasburg after one of his games stated that he picked up that he was either tipping pitches or the Astros knew their signs and decide to change the way he held the ball and changed signs every inning.
The Washington Post has an article about how the Nationals suspected the Astros and instituted a complex system of switchable signs to prevent them. The catchers had QB-style wrist guards with the five sign sets per pitcher and each pitcher had their sets written on the bottom of their caps.
I didn’t even notice that in the interview. Because I understand wanting to say something or give context and then forget that it was a yes or no question. But to see him say very clearly “no we didn’t use whistling” and then dodge the question on buzzers. Maybe the purpose of this interview was to say (without actually saying) “yes, we used buzzers and got away with it.”
I think that if players/teams are upset about the astro players getting away with this should go on strike. That would make the MLB do something about in a heart beat!
Don, just because the Astros lost in 2019 while cheating doesn’t mean the Yankees are can’t say they feel cheated, they literally were cheated, having an advantage from cheating doesn’t make you invincible it increase your chances of winning in an illegal way
If they didn’t use buzzers, how hard is it to say: “As far as I know, we never used buzzers to communicate signs to players. And the MLB report corroborates that we never used the buzzers.” Isn’t that the kind of thing Hinch should have had prepared if all the buzzers were made-up?!?! Also, I could imagine a lot of ways the MLB investigation could have been more thorough than it was. Some of the things that came to my head are science fiction ideas or illegal, but they are within my imagination. The thoughts for me include 1) A time machine really could have cleared things up. 2) Locking up all the Astros players and front office people in separate cells where they couldn’t communicate their “story” before being interrogated would have helped establish a more definitive idea of whether or not the players were lying. 3) threatening to ban the players if someone later proved that they lied. 4) Offering a reward to any player who could provide evidence that buzzers were used would have helped the investigation as well. 5) I also don’t think anyone has had to answer the question of why they would have stopped stealing signs after they worked to win them the 2017 World Series. It’s not as if the Astros players were celebrating after game 7 as if they felt their championship didn’t really count. I’m still not maximally certain that the Astros did communicate signs to players with buzzers. But I think it’s far more likely that they did than didn’t at this point. I’m about 90% confident now. Before that Hinch question and the players defensive responses I was at about 55%. But so far they have continued to operate as if they are hiding something wrong. What’s really sad its that it seems that MLB has failed the baseball fans almost as much as the Astros. The commissioner’s team needs to make it clear that they are working to develop an electronic system for the pitcher to vocally tell the catcher, while the pitcher’s glove is covering his face, the location and pitch that he are going to throw. The extra delay for the video footage isn’t enough to prevent further sign stealing with technology and non-team members on the field and in the dugout during the game. What has MLB done to stop a team from hiring someone to go to the centerfield bleachers to decode the signs with their phone and some binoculars and visually communicating the pitch-type to the batters? MLB’s response almost has appeared as if their concern is to seem like they care about the annoyed fans. It hasn’t appeared yet to me that their goal has been to stop the cheating from happened or punish the cheating which clearly did happen. The Astros need to be stripped of their 2017 World Series and AL championship. And the same is likely going to be true for the 2018 Red Sox. I’m not suggesting that the Dodgers can be given the World Series by default. But MLB should certain show that their position is that crime doesn’t pay.
I can’t stand the Yankees, but I have to give you two props the way that you have covered this whole Astros story from the beginning until now. Well done guys

And, to accept that help...well, to me that is a character issue...now all of his hitting successes come into question. This changes a plate appearance into a batting practice appearance. I just cannot accept it. Altuve now represents another f'ing cheater like Maguire and Bonds et al.
What if he still kicks ass this year. What then??
Alex Vanroth
Hell yuh 🤘🏼
Why wouldn’t he just throw heat, the guy throws 100 plus MPH.
@@alexvanroth175 what then? What kind of new cheating methods are you using midget? Thats what. He just got caught cheating and was told you are good to go no fines no punishment for cheating. How the fuck is he not going to try and find a new cheat since he cant be touched. Fuck out of here.
As a Astros fan I feel embarrassed for my hometown as well as everybody who believed in the Astros, such a shame
FINALLY, an Astros fan with a little PRIDE and RESPECT for the GAME! Thank you...
@@skrillaforilla9665 Glad we have your approval.
@@alexvanroth175 ...Don't like your own comment. WEAK
@@skrillaforilla9665 I didn't. Quit making shit up ,like this whole buzzer conspiracy. You're the ignorant one, letting the Yankee radio guys spew their bias opinion on your little brain.Grow up!
Thank you for putting respect for the game first. I see so many Astros fans who either don't care or bring up other teams cheating. It's sad, really.
I feel they did find something but are trying to cover it up.
"We weren't." (Whistling) "I believed in what we were doing in 2019." (Using buzzers)
Guys, wake-up! It's not that Manfred didn't find out about buzzers, it's that he covered it up!
Next season every team that plays the Astros before the first pitch should protest the game. If everyone did that it would send a clear message to the MLB that this isn't over or forgotten.
I've said once & I'll say it again, Manfred needs to go!
💯
Rachel Maddow would be a good choice as replacement MLB commissioner.
Please Manfred, ban the buggers and let us move on
Manfred is a joke, and will do nothing, that's why everyone needs to find illegal streams to watch there games next year, I'm not gonna renew my subscription, if Manfred thinks cheating is ok, then everyone should cheat mlb
Just don't watch.
All I know is this. If you're an Astros fan do not travel to Yankee stadium in 2020, you're gunna have a bad time.
How about the fans make a statement and Dont Go to baseball games. Maybe then MLB will understand how outraged people are that the players did not get any penalties at all for cheating the game and the fans of the game.
Best comment ever. Fans control the game just by simply not endorsing it. Go on, dare I say, strike. 😂
He failed to deny because they did use them!! He answered like a corrupt politician. And Manfred is a coward for not standing up for whats right and handing down further punishment ON THE PLAYERS. I've lost respect for Manfred.
Absolutely
Yep
Cesar that’s exactly what this is turned into, politics, and it makes a fool of the level headed fan
Manfred is a loud mouth talking head. A guy who would say WE EMPHATICALLY DON'T tolerate this, to a weak punishment.
I hope more players would sue the Astros AND MLB for this F up.
What precedence did this set? Players can cheat and only the upper management would get suspended/fired.
Disgraceful
So Hinch comes out to apologize and ends up telling us more lies.
They found nothing because they didn’t want to. We need a player to grow a pair and flat out admit to what they saw.
Even an Orioles fan can agree with these Yankee guys!!!!
If the mlb does not open this case i will be livid
Royals fan here. I just wanted to say that this show has had the BEST coverage of this scandal. I will be rooting for the Yankees and Dodgers until they get some titles to make this situation closer to right.
Houston may have messed with the two largest media centers in the country. New York and LA.
Great point!
The nationals countered the sign stealing with different signs
I really hope “Beltran’s Niece” has buzzer/vibrator pics. MLB just wants it to go away. The commissioner NEEDS to take this seriously!
I don't want to see the vibrator pics.
Jeff K lmao vibrator pics
I’m not a Yankees fan, but I am thrilled to see these guys hammer away at this topic. The more Manfred tries to brush it to the side, the more pissed off all the players get. Cody Bellanger- new favorite player off of my team.
Why are the Yankees and YES network now the good guys? Why am I rooting for them? The world is a confusing place nowadays.
He is careful not to say "no we did not use buzzers" because eventually it will found to be true and he doesn't want to be accused of lying to investigators. Apparently he has a good attorney.
Hinch should take a lie detector test. Strap him up!
The players told them about the buzzers. Just like that Patriots tapes from Spygate was so bad they destroyed them, the mlb protected their brand
Just a question I've had....how many Astro players will play in the 2020 All-Star game? Just curious.
0 trust me ZERO!!!
2 or 3 of them
I know for sure 1 to represent the team but I'm so curious when he shows up on the dodgers ground how the reaction is going to be.
@@giovannicenturino1310 Unfortunately, I think every team is guaranteed at least one player be selected. They may not play, but they are guaranteed at least one All-Star selection.
@@hclpfwtx I can assure you, I will be there to greet them
They have immunity, so we're entitled to know which player used the buzzers and who didn't use it. The immunity agreement was about getting to the truth but we didn't get the whole truth.
AJ Hinch should be banned from MLB for life
I was going to say that answer was written by a lawyer, but as a lawyer, that's only how you would advise a client if they were under oath. This was written by a PR person who thinks they're a lawyer.
As a lawyer, I would come up with something better that may not quite be true, but can be walked back. If you're under oath, you have to make sure it's true. But this is just an interview.
Cheaters need to be banned
0:59 wonderful analogy that made my day
We're acting like the guy was going to admit to it lmao. Of course wasn't gonna say they used buzzers.
Stop the cynical shit.Take a hard stand .Be a man
If they didn't use buzzers he would have flat out denied it 100%. The fact he danced around the question and saying "oh well Major League Baseball didn't find anything" speaks volumes of his guilt and his absolute bitchness
Why can't Hinch or some member of the Astros be taken to court and asked under oath specific questions? How is this any different than Roger Clemens?
Where’s Gerrit Cole about this? He was on the astros in 2019 and is on the yankees now. What’s to stop him?
Hired gun. Doubt they ever let him in on anything
I really hope Yesnetwork keeps putting more of their videos on TH-cam, this is really great!
They Nats could've easily switched up signs between innings.
Is there any way to watch this full show online?
Using buzzers is one hell of an accusation to be leveled upon a team and its players. For Hinch to not just say hell no we may have stole signs but never did anything that egregious tells me there’s a coverup in the works by both the Astros and the commissioners office to try and save face.
I didn't think that they actually used buzzers until this interview with Hinch. I think his answers show pretty conclusively that they used buzzers....
Mlb is protecting the Astro’s because some of their players had the most sold jerseys..
Has anyone said how long this has been going on? I'm thinking of games 4 and 5 years ago where they were chasing ace pitchers in the first inning.
He is scared to flat out lie because he realizes the truth will eventually come out.
Fire Manfred!
let's keep all the Astros safe in 2020. thank you MLB commissioner for protecting our loving Astros 💗 we all forgive you Jose Altuve.
MLB needs to subject all team dugouts, including player equipment and uniforms, to random inspections to screen for cheating and rules violations. Banks get audited, restaurants have health inspections, sports is also big business and should be held accountable to the rule book, not just taken on their word.
Amen brotha
I’m an Astros fan and I wouldn’t be mad at that. I believe they should do that to everyone and every team
I read a story about a guy who killed his wife. When the police arrived he said he was going to kill himself after, but he couldn't go through with it.
For the love of everything holy we know they used buzzers
Can you imagine the amount of heckling and boos the astros will see on road games , it’s gonna be ridiculous
...Houston Asterisks
The Nats were warned on this and before the WS came up with a very elaborate set of signs so the Astros couldn’t figure them out. Basically they used coded signs.
WIN!
The commissioner the players an owners i believe just killed baseball by hiding everything from the fans #boy i cant wait for football season
People will watch just to see how the Astros are treated. Baseball already isn’t very popular so I doubt anyone’s viewing habits will be influenced by it. If I was an Astros fan I wouldn’t watch. That’s it.
I guess in baseball cheaters always win. Do something Commish!!! You're ignoring one of the biggest scandals in baseball history.
The cheating make me want to watch baseball
Altuve should be BANNED from baseball..... if you love the game.
Houston pitching lost that 2019 World Series
STRASBURG FOOL!
The offense was pretty weak during the world series.
Deflection at its best... smh...guilty
He had shirtless pictures on Instagram that wife thing is a joke
I'm surprised that Waste Management hasn't sponsored the Houston Astros.
Nike: supplies shoes
Addidas: supplies clothing
Waste Management: supplies trash cans
STOLEN POST! BOOOOOO!
Don, just because the Astros lost in 2019 while cheating doesn’t mean the Yankees are can’t say they feel cheated, they literally were cheated, having an advantage from cheating doesn’t make you invincible it increase your chances of winning in an illegal way
If they didn’t use buzzers, how hard is it to say:
“As far as I know, we never used buzzers to communicate signs to players. And the MLB report corroborates that we never used the buzzers.”
Isn’t that the kind of thing Hinch should have had prepared if all the buzzers were made-up?!?!
OF COURSE! BEST COMMENT******************
I can’t stand the Yankees, but I have to give you two props the way that you have covered this whole Astros story from the beginning until now. Well done guys
I couldn't even watch the interview, I was pissed off. Got robbed from having Dodgers vs Yankees in the world series. Mind you the Dodgers didn't make it last year, but makes me sick to my stomach as the a Dodger fan. SMH
Definitely! NY/LA!
Have they asked Cole yet? He was with them all in 2018 and 2019. We have enough info about 2017 at this point and Cole would be someone who would probably have an idea if they cheated or not in those years.
It was only during the 2017 series
