Not a Yankee fan, but I don't understand the constant reinforcement of this belief that Judge should be immune to being booed. The moment the postseasons starts, none of the accolades from the regular season matter anymore. The reality is Judge carried the team for most of the year and disappeared when it mattered most. Now, will booing help him play better? Who knows, but booing is definitely deserved for what was expected. Like isn't the ultimate goal to win the World Series? Why should someone be immune to boos because of some regular season accolade when he was a liability in the postseason(what actually matters)?

    • @someoneyoudontknow7705
      @someoneyoudontknow7705 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Honestly, he disappeared in the regular season when it matter most as well. I understand people who don’t watch the games just see his numbers and think he’s awesome. The truth of the matter is Judge can’t hit under pressure. The majority of his HRs were 1st inning solo shots or when they were already up 3+ runs. When he came to the plate and it was a tie or they were down a few it’s an almost guaranteed strikeout. When these situations came up is when I’d get up and take my dogs out or do whatever I had to. When I came back? Yup, strikeout. I couldn’t take watching it anymore. It was consistent too: someone else on the team would get a hit and put them ahead and then guess what? Judge’s next at bat…yup, he had a homer. It was so lame. So of course it was all about his homerun and not the player who actually put them ahead. I can’t stand the dude. He needs to go back home to SF.

NYCFC fans back in May had a brutal and honest conversation with James Sands at the end of the 3-1 loss game vs FC Cincinnati at Yankee Stadium
This happened when they weren't winning games since April
And there were mix reactions about it for how it was received because everyone saying that they were trying to be Curva Sud (AC Milan Ultras group) since they did that this past season in Serie A and they got to the semifinal of UEFA Champions League
And those types of conversations do always happen in soccer
So what I'm getting at here in the case of the Yankees getting booed by fans, there should be a conversation between fans and the players but I know it's going to turn ugly but these type of conversations needs to happen if they want to win.
My advice for these players, be in the shoes of the players playing European soccer either in the English Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, etc and they'll know what's like to have passionate fans cheering screaming and booing at your face

I think Yankee fans were just expressing their growing frustration and resentment with the Yankee's continued post-season failures, employing the same flawed hitting approach, and certainly their disgust with Cashman's inability to construct a roster that has a realistic chance of post-season success. Cashman has to go, too little real success, if we measure success as WS championships, in 20+ years at the helm, absent the aberration in 2009 when he was allowed to outspend every other team in MLB by close to 60 million and dole-out 500 million in free-agent contracts. But Hal is a money man, with his eye on the bottom-line and profit margins, and he is not obsessed with winning at any cost. Maris and Mantle were booed, so if these current players can not handle the heat in the kitchen, leave.

How does Michael Kay's explanation account for why Bruce Harper plays in PHILADELPHIA which is known for the worst fans in the world in treating their own players?
Aaron Judge is a great player. But he also spit in fans ' faces when he said that $213 million dollars is not enough money to play for those same fans. Mattingly re-signed with the Yankees when they sucked. That's called loyalty. Judge showed before the season he doesn't have it to us, but now expects it from us. And he got booed by people who will struggle to pay Bill's all their lives and who can be fired from their jobs.

Exactly. Judge lost me as a fan this year when he rejected the Yankees’ offer but supposedly wanted to stay a Yankee 😒. Yeah ok. It’s really just an ego thing for him to demand to be the highest paid player…he ain’t worth it, never shows up in the postseason (also usually doesn’t show up in the regular season when it’s needed: when they’re tied or down a couple, he typically strikes out. It’s just more noticeable in the postseason with his 15 strikeouts and no one bailing him out) and then what about the rest of the team if he gets the pay he thinks he deserves? We know Hal is cheap, he ain’t putting THAT much money out there. I don’t want a team of just Judge. I don’t understand why so many people love this dude. IKF hits much better than he does in situations when it’s needed yet people consistently talk sh*t about him. I don’t get it. And Judge is NOT a leader. Doesn’t seem like he has any fire in him. He’s lackadaisical when losing and smiling shortly after. Didn’t stick up for Donaldson with the Tim Anderson crap. Judge is all about himself and not worth it. Good riddance, I pray he’s gone 🙏🏼.

You're either a fan or you aren't. If you aren't, great. On you go with your life. But if you _are_ then you have to ride out the bad times. Poor form, expensive everything, shitty front office, even cheating.
As an Astros fan, I can tell you that it's virtually impossible to support a side that cheated. It's way harder to do than suffer through a 15 loss streak during a 51-111 season (2013). But you don't boo. Well, _I_ don't. The alternative to being a fan is not to be one anymore. Not claiming to be one while shitting on your team.

Enough with “the yankee brand” should be revered. No. not the last 13 years of it. No one should want to admire that, with all of their organizational issues we all know about. The yankee brand is a brand of losing baseball the past 13 years. Most young players coming up today probably barely remember the yankees being on top of the league as a teams other teams strive to be.
And those quotes kay read are such a joke. Give me a break already. Like don said more joke statements from people that wont put their name on it. Whoever said that must be as lost as any casual fan would be seeing this team win a good amount of games most years and getting sucked into thinking the old yankee way is the standard. The fans that follow this team day in and day out know this team better than those on the outside. The people that run the yankees must just put up a hell of facade to that exec bcuz all i hear about their decision makers is a joke. And Of course rival executives would probably will say good things anyway. If i was another executive i would say the same to keep cashman and boone in their job so you can keep beating them and passing them by. Plus they aren’t working in the same situation with the same resources that the yankees do in new york. And just STOP IT already with idea that they fans and writers shouldnt be mad or want changes made bcuz if boone or cashman were fired theyd be a top target for other teams. We hear it all the time. WHO CARES. They cant do it here, in this situation. Get someone who can. Care about your own organization and not what other organizations are worrying about. I could careless if they left and were winning elsewhere. Just figure out your own problems. If the yankees are actually letting things like that influence their decisions lord have mercy us fans are gonna be disappointed for a long time. That would just tell me hal has absolute zero confidence or belief in himself to hire someone else who is “family” or isnt someone he already knows to the job better. (Thats why i think jeter would be hals pick if cashman ever left, another guy with a connection again. And i like jeter and think he would be great and a huge upgrade, but it would still show how much hal really doesnt know what hes doing when he cant sepedate business and family in any hiring) What terrible business running would that be. Franchises whos owners dont hand pick their own executives usually hire a firm to do it. Why not do that.
I think other teams actually think the yankees today are a joke and behind the times in every facet of todays game and of a sports organization in 2022. How can they not think they are an embarrassment when you see the kind of bs excuses and tactics they try to spin to the media year after year of losing with their payroll.

I watched every post season Judge at bat. Did he ever seem bothered by the strike outs? Was he upset? Did he seem to take it personally? Not from what I watched! Don't you dare offer him more than 5 years. He will deteriorate and he will be injured. Finally, spoiled? Spoiled by winning nothing in 13 years?

To What end? The answer is obvious: it releases frustration. Every fan base around the country boos when their own players screw up. I don't get Kay and that story about the knick is BS. Duke players love MSG and they would love to play in the big apple. Moreover, bringing up Cleveland is silly. Brown fans in the stadium were wearing bags last year and years before that.
