Kisten was an amazing person and her loving Mum stood by her. May her soul rest in peace. May the Holy Spirit continue to strengthen n comfort her loving family.
Thnx for uploading these videos. I randomly came across them last year and have been binge watching them since. I searched for updates on Kirsten and found out that she died from her disease in 2018 :(
I understand the weight thing intimately. For many years i could not get doctors to look past my weight because it was the easy most obvious answer to my symptoms. Doctors have to get over it. sometimes the most obvious answer is not the cause. It was not the cause in my case.
How sad to hear she died 4 years ago. I’m a nurse, & also have a friend who had a rare, catastrophic lung infection & was saved by a double lung transplant & is doing great 5 years later. So I looked it up, & several sources say that a double lung transplant is an acceptable option for otherwise young & healthy people with pulmonary hypertension. I wonder why that wasn’t given as an option.
I had a very similar disorder to Sean's in 2013. After a bout of very high fever, diahrrea and what seemed to be an UTI, I started to lose mobility until I was left bed bound from the pain in all of my body. I was in hospital for a month, but no diagnosis or treatment (could not bathe on my own, walk, grab things, go to the bathroom, nothing). They sent me back home on a steroid medication and using a walker. Nobody knew what it was, some doctors even had the nerve to tell me that it might be psychological or I was making it up. To this day I still have joint pain, the mobility of a 60 year old and I am afraid It might be permanent now, since nobody paid mind to it when it started no matter how much I insisted. I hold a great deal of resentment towards doctors for not taking me seriously, I feel it's their fault I got worse, but I don't know what to think.
3 minutes into the video and I am shouting at the screen: Test for HLA B-27 marker! Test for Reiter's syndrome! How would I know? Well, I had it many years ago, and it took me a year to recover. And oh boy, believe me, the pain is excruciating, like an axe splicing your knees apart. Luckily I've had no serious flare ups since.
Kristen.. She reminded me of a patient we had, 2 year old mariam, she's still allive now 5 years old, with pulmonary hypertension, but she's terminally ill, it breaks my heart when i see her, knowing she'll die soon.
I had my own body shutting down before, but it most likely was because of dehydration and i have an ED. And it was worse when I went into a deep depression. I fear it’ll happen again...
I have had this problem everytime I see a doctor. So I don't go to the doctor anymore, I'm sick of hearing that my fat is the cause of my problems. I have constant, severe pain in my ankle. It feels like it's burning, being electrocuted and crushed all at the same time, it also feels hot to the touch. When I looked into it, the symptoms matched with Tarpal Tunnel Syndrome, which is where the veins in your ankles become constricted. So I told my doctor but she dismissed it, even though blood tests had found high inflammation. So now I'm left with this excruciating pain in my ankle and was just told to lose weight and the pain would go away. No other tests, or investigations. I don't go to the doctor anymore.
Well, that would depend on the complaint. It MAKES SENSE that a doctor would say "lose weight" if your complaint is back/ankle/knee pain. It doesn't matter WHAT they do, if you're carrying around enough weight for two (and especally three!) people, there is no way they can treat your pain if you don't LOSE WEIGHT first. We need to STOP "loving ourselves for who we are" when who we ARE should NOT be obese.
Ohh i am a patient of reactive arthritis.. That attacked my hips and leg joints.. I know that pain and my condition was also delayed to diagnose and made me end up in the emergency room and i had to take injections to reduce the fluid expansion in my joints.. It also started with my eyes.. I was also told I had pink eye and I still thought I had pink eye like damn I'm glad my eyes didn't degrade much..
It's quite rare, but that rare compared to some other diseases featured in the series. Still, approx. 4-5 people in 100,000 people have it, so it's classified as a "very rare" disorder.
I have RA and hate summer. When it´s hot outside it´s like I have lava running in my bones instead of marrow, terrible. So I really felt with that man.
Yeah, that's true. I immediately had a flush of possible diagnoses running through my mind: viral, bacterial, autoimmune, irritants, and almighty cancer lol
@@gugurama9777Lung transplants for pulmonary hypertension only started to become a treatment the last few decades. Nowadays it's done more often for these patients
Why is the actor playing Kirsten wearing such a fake looking, blonde wig? And when they talk about him taking over the counter medication, at the same time they show someone dumping out pills from a prescription bottle. The reenactments are pretty cringe worthy, I have to say.
Sean's Mother states that Sean (as an adult +22 yrs)) might NOT be able to explain what is wrong with him and she needs to travel to him (TYPICAL MOTHER that she believes she more important than EVERYONE else) !!!!!!!!
When you hear hooves its fine to first thing horses, but when it becomes obvious its not horses you should think about zebra's, cows, pigs, sheep or even antelopes. Especially when its about the quality of life of a person or even the long term health, such short sighted doctors.

> suggests she simply exercise more
T-thanks doc....

May she Rest In Peace..Such an extraordinary girl!
Oh no, that is so sad. I'm so glad she got to have time to live her life happily though.
That’s so sad, she was such a sweet young woman....very sad for her parents and husband........life is so unfair sometimes
Oh no ☹️ she seemed really sweet

sometimes it’s even a symptom... no, she would not have been joining in with other kids games. Sometimes it’s from medication.

Indeed i wonder the same.. maybe itsnwas a newer method to treat it?
This is the best series ever keep uploading these!

The doctors need to see past the weight issue. It just blinds them. The see the fat and then they cannot see anything else.

0:38 Yes I bet the delivery of a baby would take a toll on any man! xD
In the old days Portal Hypertension was treated with surgery very successfully. The procedure was called PortaCaval Shunt. Someone should check it.
How can you apply shunt in capillary vessels, the pulmonary hypertension in this case comes from capillary level squeze.. i dont know..
She already died sadly..

She didn't exercise.
Doctors didn't listen.
The second one doesn't sound as rare as y'all think. I'm not sure about it, I felt that I heard that somewhere else

Interesting... The young girl/woman looks really good...
Good luck
She apparently passed away couple years ago...

HOW ABOUT LUNG TRANSPLANTING?
Really why didnt they do it? Maybe the case was before that development in medicine.. may it be the reason?
