"Today, Gaby is a healthy preteen, set on becoming a scientist or possibly a chef."
I looked her up; she's done both! She's a food scientist and a trained chef.

Endometriosis is a very unbiased illness. It takes incredibly long time until diagnosed. Although many of us suffer from it. But we are just only women. :(

It took me 16 years to be diagnosed and that was after begging my doctor to look further since I was missing work every month. The pain was unbearable. I had a potential burst endometrioma in Dec and now I’m waiting for another surgery because I’m pretty sure it spread everywhere.

Am only getting to know of endometriosis today and now I think I need to get tested. In Africa we have a common believe that flows are painful and can only stop when you put to birth. I can't believe I have been suffering from something that might have a medical solution since I turn puberty I will have heavy flows, cramps, vomiting, and frequent pooping. My mum was kinda concerned at first but later became used to it . To make things even worse all pills associated to relieving menstrual pains could not help me so I kinda became used to staying at home when am on my period especially the second and third day or carry a jacket with me when living the house so I can tie around my waist when I get stain. Getting stained is sure on the second day of the flow. But now am sure am getting close to my freedom and wave goodbye to all the embarrassment. Thanks so much MD

I'm sorry if this is too personal for you, this question from some random internet stranger, but I would really like to know how are you doing and what's been going on in your life. I hope you are doing well and I hope that, at least, you now know what is your diagnosis - and how are they treating you and your condition. Ask your doc to send you to be tested for Endometriosis, it is the most common cause of problems in women and can also affect your blood so try and get it checked out! I wasn't diagnosed till 30 years of age.

So weird to me when I hear they take their people to the hospital, here in the uk we ring an ambulance which takes a few minutes max wherever you are so there IMMEDIATE treatment too- and all free - they need to start giving the Americans free treatment - we don’t get crazy taxed to account for the nhs (our national health service) like people think it’s normal tax but our government make sure there’s enough of that money going to healthcare for us which included free everything , from a broken leg to glasses to cavities or dentures - all free or if you work and earn a lot you pay them a certain amount
