In this video we go over how to install the Kayak Launch on a dock. I bought this launch for my in-laws so they could easier get into their kayaks from their dock safer and easier. I had fallen a few times attempting to get into kayaks from their dock and I cut myself on oysters. I personally own a kayak launch at my place and decided to get them one and show how easy it is to install. It only takes 4 bolts to mount!

I'm glad you filmed this video, because always thought these things had to be installed with a fork lift of something like that. Now I know for future reference, because I'm hoping someday I'll need one of those!!!
No fork lift needed. Easy install.

ChiefSquatting Bull where I live in Cape Coral, FL it is nice because no city permit is needed to attach one to sea wall or dock. No part of the kayak launch is mounted in the water so the city doesn’t require a permit.
Imo kayaking is all about simplicity. I slide my kayaks in off the dock and climb in. If the tide is very low i slide it in and use my dock ladder to climb in. My kayaks come inside after use and I would never leave them on a lift exposed to the elements. A lift would make launching more difficult for me plus i'd need to maintain the lift making even more work. I think they're great for someone with physical limitations but for the average user imo a kayak lift is way overkill.
Can you provide information on where to buy this system? I'd like to install one at a home in Punta Gorda.
Very helpful video and appreciated for you taking the time to put this clip together. What size and type of the thread rod (4) that you used and where you buy them?
I think they sold the rod at the time with the launch.
What size and where did you get the U bolts?
Looks great. Did you climb under the dock beforehand? Seems like you got lucky where the bolts fell each side of the bearer beam perfectly, and not on top of it, which would have prevented the bracket from fitting.
PS - You forgot the part where you drop the nut and washer in the water and drive across town looking for new stainless hardware. 😋
What can I say.....I’m the king of beginners luck. 😉. What you saw was pretty much it. We didn’t do retakes. Just filmed as we went. It was my first time installing one too. The one on my seawall was different process and someone from the company installed it. This one was pretty easy to do. I could tell where stringers lined up without going underneath.
In all seriousness the install was pretty easy. There is the chance of dropping nut/washers in the water, but those four long 14” rods hold it in place without fasteners. So if we did drop one in the water we could drive to any Home Depot or hardware store and likely get SS nuts and washers. The backing plates are drilled to give some leeway. It is a close fit but most stringer beams seem to fall within the mounting holes.

My issue with this is the fact that it is not really a launch. You can not put the kayak on the lift from the dock itself to launch. You need to have already launched the kayak in order to put the kayak on the lift....hence it is more of a kayak storage option. And because of issue #1...you can not launch a kayak for your wife or child either from this item....because again... you can not actually put the kayak onto the lift from the dock. So if you need to be launched already to use this lift....its not actually a launch....because you are already launched.
