@@flameguy3416 My memory is shot but didn't he leave around the time Destiny was at its lowest and he had that thing with Riot? Then came back when that didn't work out and everyone loved TFS?

Tbf it kind of applied to Bungie. Think of it this way: a downright historically stupid move was made to basically turn your arsenal useless and remove half the game, including paid content. Destinys most successful period came right after, with Witchqueen. I think what really happened is that Destiny simply cant outdo the bad shit they do time and again. For the first time in ages people are looking at the Destiny that is, not the Destiny that might be.
Its painfully obvious how important those QA testers were. The buggiest season by far where even the seasonal event with little no to changes somehow is bugged
QA is the entire group has to actively contribute in. Its not like "oh let the audio guy do the audio stuff" All it takes is a shit leader to ruin it all
There's a reason QA is present in basically every industry that makes a product. When mistakes gets made they damage the brand, and it ends up costing WAY more in lost business than it would to keep the QA team. Like, if Bungie could pay whatever it would have cost in testers to make the bad press go away and get their customers lost to getting fed up with these bugs back, they would do so in an instant. But it was someone's job somewhere to make a spreadsheet look good for a quarter, I guess, totally ignoring sustainability and long-term value.
Absolutely, ever since those layoffs the game has experienced so many bugs. I’ll give the weapon perk bug a pass since it seems like that was in the game since possibly Forsaken, but there has been so many error codes, tonics dropping the wrong weapons, shadowshot STILL being disabled in the dungeon, mask of fealty not doing what its description said it does when it came out, and these were all from this episode!
I don't even think QA could help much, some of these issues are literally just the devs being careless. Misspellings, using wrong things in seasonal challenges, using placeholder images and not replacing them... yeah QA can catch it but why are so many little things even ending up falling through the cracks. People aren't checking their work properly
@@Dac85 I'm fairly certain I read Bungie was outsourcing QA to another country, to a team who didn't even know the basics of the game - and this was not that long ago. So it's not like they were even the right people for the job
How many wake up calls do we have to give them before we realize they are pretending to be asleep and you cannot wake up someone who's pretending to sleep.
The last 3 months of Destiny has been great for me. Good chance to catch up on other games that I've wanted to play instead without feeling like I'm missing anything in Destiny
I remember in a past Dawning, there was cute little quest where you gathered Cabal Ceremonial Wine as a Gift to Caitl, or made treats for Eliksni Hatchlings with Saint-14. It was a just a few menial tasks and walls of text, but at least it was an event that had some grounding in the changing universe. The Cabal were barely uneasy allies at the time and giving them a gift felt a little meaningful, helping Saint-14 do some good for the Eliksni in the city felt fun too after Season of the Splicer. We don't even get the walls of text anymore, and its such a huge missed opportunity for some really charming world and character building.
The wake up call I'd like to see is a double call. One, I wish the community could live with themselves not having something new every few months. Two, I wish Bungie stopped doing seasons altogether and just put full effort in huge expansions rather than just okay expansions with seasons to fill out the rest of the year.
It’s not about the community being able to live with no content. It’s about Bungie not being able to afford that loss in player income. They’ve done this to themselves.
It's clear video games were not meant to go on this long. Everyone will always cite WoW but that's an anomaly and a kingpin. They really should consider giving up on being so adamant about keeping people playing every week. It's not like the expansions are selling well to justify the logic of "well they might not come back", and also it's not like they'll just magically spend money if they play every week. They're not adapting to a changing industry, they're just imitating what the juggernauts like cod do. Sony leaders need to grow a spine, find a way to get Pete out of there, and instill one of their own people at the helm with some of that 3 billion dollars straight injected into hiring staff in key positions. It's the only way forward for this game. The devs told us to trust them 6 months ago, and all we've gotten is slop since. Why should we believe a word any of them say
They’re moving away from the big expansion model for a reason; it’s too much effort for how much money they get in return. Seasons are so much easier to do. A few cutscenes, reskin weapon models, text walls and an artifact.
You were never forced to wear any set of armor to get rewards. Seasonal armor increases rep gain, same as iron banner armor, and pretty much every other armor perk of its kind
@The_Ragequit_Cannon ...what? guardian games makes you wear the class item to get the medals. Solstice makes you wear the entire set to convert the ash into leaves, and festival of the lost makes you wear the mask to get candy. If you don't wear the armor you don't get any of the event currency
I found an alternative method for farming essence. Just do lost sectors where you can immediately get to the boss to kill to open the chest and where you can swiftly reload the lost sector. Regular lost sectors completions (chest openings) grant 3 essence. If you average out a strike to about 10 minutes, this method is still better, since some lost sectors can be done in under a minute (including reloading of the lost sector location so that the boss respawns), which would grant 30 essence in 10 minutes. Absolutely not better than checkpoint farming, but good if you're completely solo.
But is fundamentally the same as checkpoint farming just with a different locale. Still boring. Like he said. Other game content would need to be more rewarding
Before Lightfall, they were able to bring things back up to only have people leave temporarily, but at this point they really aren't able to bring things back up to those levels and a lot of people have permanently checked out.
Bungie doesn't care enough about these yearly events to update Petra Venj's cookie to say "Dreaming City" instead of "The Reef" which is a place that's been long gone from the game.
As if this wasn't the obvious way things were going to go when they laid off their QA. I'm actually kind of shocked Sony didn't step in to nix that idea, because all this is doing is devaluing their investment.
I still want to know how 3 billion dollar buyout turns into half the team getting axed and the game getting worse. If they're betting that heavily on Marathon, something tells me some Sony executives will get the axe in the near future when that bombs
Since we're talking about bugs, I'd like to remind everyone that the Pale Heart location is still bugged and frequently giving people Guitar error codes. This affects every single activity on the destination, from basic Story Missions to Overthrows and GM Excision. I don't think they have a date for a fix yet either.
Some things are significantly simpler to fix, we all get it. It's just that it _really looks bad_ when the easiest things to fix are *the ones that directly impact the game's ability to suck up the playerbase's money,* and the harder things to fix are *the ones that impact the gameplay itself.* But I'm just reiterating things practically everyone before me has already said.
It’s like, how can you mess up a minor micro-transaction based event you urselves refused to change for the past 6 years. You’d expect some type of “security” for something like this with everything going on. Like: “okay everything’s been bugged but hey at least the dawning is here! no way they mess that up cuz they refuse to even change it in any way!” But… no. Even the most mediocre parts of the game are affected by this bs. I don’t mind if Sony swallows up this game/company. At least then it’ll HAVE the resources to BE bad. Rather than be bad because of no resources.
They're being outclassed by F2P games at this point (I still don't consider D2 F2P but that's just me lol) Who knows if hiring more people will even make a difference. Their engine is literally 20 years old, they only still use it bc the current devs can't figure out what the old devs did to make it feel so smooth. Halo 1 came out when I was in middle school and they're still on that engine despite almost every other AAA developer having upgraded engines multiple times in that time frame They're lucky nobody is trying to be direct competition because they would fold if anyone ever did. First Descendant was close but also not close.
I think the easy fix for CP farming, though I’m sure the “Bungie hates players” crowd would get real load about it, would be to increase the strike/GM awards by a bit, but then make it so dungeon bosses only award their full amount if you beat all encounters in the dungeon during that instance run. Otherwise it would be an amount some fraction of the full reward based on number of encounters cleared.
They've had the feedback of activities that are harder OR take longer should give more essence for YEARS. Not implementing that at this point has to be a design decision at this point.
Every single reset my oven resets to only let me bake gjallardoodles and I have to do the 10 minute quest to start getting ingredients. It also resets my memento quest which now doesn’t track any snowball kills even though I only have a single upgrade
What’s extremely sad is these suggestions, outside of bugs, can all be fixed by tomorrow. It’s not difficult. But due to the man power they won’t make any changes for us. Such a shame man, I love Destiny so much and really don’t want to give it up
I agree that that event currencies should be increased, but just increasing them (or rebalancing them) won't solve everything. How it is currently set up is based on time-commitment and difficulty/"endgame". The problem is that the scale isn't that high (like you side, GMs only give 4 more than normal strikes) AND Raid/Dungeons count with checkpoints. However, unless you neuter RADs - which isn't really good since it is an "endgame" activity - you'd have to super buff everything else. Because some RAD encounters can be completed in ~1 minute, you can't reasonably rebalance the economy as you have to use that as the measuring stick - which then punishes people doing full clears or slower encounters even more. If RADs checkpoints are still going to give currency, they have to be the least efficient at it to promote players playing the core playlists. So 2-4x all non-RAD sources and rebalance the economy, or require 3 encounter completions to get the RAD payout (so that you could still cp farm or do a full clear of any RAD). CP farming will still be a top option, but you really can't do much. I think about the in-game economy a lot, as there a lot of moving parts and the "solution" people like to propose don't usually address all the problems or the underlying causes.
I literally still cannot get passed the intro quest on any character. All because I had the nerve to quickly login after the update, grabbed the quest on all 3 characters, and completed the Zavala gift on all. When they froze progression, they completely screwed me. I'm super bummed that it has been 5 days and nothing. Fuck this.
You're not missing anything but a new linear fusion, and nobody's using linear fusions until they get a serious buff again. The rest is all complete filler content that serves little to no point. You'll live lol
"Hey bungie, your new content is buggy you should've spent more time fixing it" "Yeah no shit, we just went through a second layoff we have less people to help polish everything before release" I've watched datto's content since I started playing Destiny in rise of Iron and I know he will bring some good criticism, Can the comunity itself at least criticize the new content with more stuff that isn't just "onslaught: bugvation, festival of the bugs, episode bugevent, tomb of bugs, the bugging" All of the issues have been caused, (directly or not,) by Pete Parsons and the higher ups. Not the actual workers crunching hours just to make sure the December event actually releases in December this time
this is just our first moment of true fatigue, before we always coped or had something, but now the apathy has set in. i truly believe the ten year plan part of destiny was the only reason people stayed now
i’m pretty sure we literally had this exact conversation back during season of the plunder. anyone remember how buggy that season was? it was plagued with server issues and bad bugs. the higher ups at bungie never learn.
What I'd need to even touch the dawn at this point is to triple or quadruple the essence drops from seasonal and strike, gambit, crucible. Also, have finishing those activities grants a random bundle of ingredients 10 to 30 or something close.
Bungie, whenever you are deciding how much of whatever players get after finishing a thing your number is always wrong. Triple it and you are almost at an ok number. Please stop disrespecting our time.
Yeah they need to make these event weapons drop from just casual play, especially given that the ingredients are bugged and not dropping properly so it's not nearly as easy to get the weapons from the way they have it now.
I unlocked a bunch of bake cookies event triumphs, like the 10 cookies, 20 cookies etc. in fact I unlocked all of them, except the 50, which claims I have cooked 0/50 cookies. I have cooked 1 cookie, once, for Zavala.
Strikes should drop ONE HUNDRED essence. The amount of gifts you get per essence is miniscule, even with hours of grinding. We're climbing mountains for crumbs.
Destiny 1 events were always so special, whether it be reprised strikes, SRL, new exotics, strike scoring, etc. I understand it doesnt profit as much as Bungie stated, but its the love that made them so special
They can't though now that they're owned by Sony. How they do directly affects Sony stock, attempts to sweep will just result in more loss of playerbase and eventually Sony will see it as a net loss and get rid of Pete and crew and put their own people in charge
Glad you said it. I’m not a checkpoint farmer and the amount of time required to get a focused weapon any other way is too much. As a result, I’m not playing. I’d recommend changing ritual and seasonal activity drops to include Dawning weapons
I really like the Dawning and don't care that the weapons aren't amazing. My pain is the point about how it's less efficient to just play the game instead of cp farming. I've been baking cookies as I work on weekly bounties for now and it sucks that I'd get more done if I went brain dead
I like the Dawning generally, it's chill and I can beat it by passively playing the game. But it's just so broken this year. Nothing works, and it's basically copy pasted from previous years. Mats aren't dropping frequently enough or in the case of Choral Vex don't drop at all, Dawning Essence is too stingy, none of the upgrades work, the Triumphs had to be auto-completed because the event is broken, the bundle was MORE expensive for Silver than each piece individually...I can go on. That on top of a generally bad season means I'm engaging the least with this game since D2 vanilla.
Ive made close to 1k cookies over my last 10 years playing but the fact that everyone on day one got the paid pass for free makes me want 2 get the dragon armor for beight dust and thats it
I think the worst part of the event is the low rate of gift in return drops (20 % ??) and how the boons work. I'm at a point where I'm only chasing the emblems but to be able to get them I first need ingredients, then hope that I get a gift in return and then lean on the 1 % (or whatever it is) chance of an emblem dropping. They should have made it so that boons lasted for a day, so that you could get atleast one gift per strike and let us know exactly how much the drop rate of emblems will increase the following weeks - because as of now it's dicey to use anything. I'm not even sure if the gifts in return I'm getting this week have a locked in drop rate on emblems or if they're worth saving for next week. It's always a freaking guessing game with Bungie and it makes things extremely boring and pointless.
At a certain point there's like this critical balance between grinding and being handed loot for free where it honestly decentivizes me from even attempting a grind in the first place. With games like poe2 out rn and time restrictions in general, I honestly can't justify doing mindless cp farming for the amount of hours needed to get the rolls I want (I love the grind), especially with how mind numbing it is. If Bungie actually want people to come back for the event they REALLY need to either make the activity worth running for the fun-factor, or make the grind reasonable enough so if I end up dropping like 8 hours grinding I actually get all the rolls I want.
How hard is it to make it so completing activities during the dawning have a chance to drop dawning weapons and make vendors have a chance to give you a dawning weapon on top of the gifts in return? That way farming for gifts in return JUST to focus for the event weapons isn't the only thing people care about for this event? I mean they refuse to give us an actual activity for dawning, most people just barely show up to bright dust farm, it wouldn't be difficult to make certain activities just have a better chance to drop dawning weapons and gifts and return ect. We can have this conversation all day. Weightgate and tonics have been beyond broken for a so long this was the one thing they could have at least made sure had good drop chances for everything but no, lets just get the exact same dawning we always get with some emblems thrown in because that will totally boost engagement, say we're fixing ingredient drop rates just for them to still feel like they don't exist until you don't care about farming them anymore, admittedly got some neat rolls on some of the weapons but good luck target farming them, and have the event as a whole that practically adds nothing new to the game for us to do for the season STILL release buggy as hell. I know the bottom line is bungie is a business and destiny is their cashcow but there are EXTREMELY simple ways to boost player engagement as a whole that isn't listening to the loud and wrong mfs on twitter that will complain regardless of what bungie does to attempt to make the game better based off of feedback. They have the numbers, they have the passionate content creators, and a decent bit of normal people with jobs going "hey, shits a bit scuffed right now, but here's what I think and why. You can do this and we will enjoy and appreciate it" why would they continue to listen to the mob who's been screaming at them and doing all the toxic bs that made them interactions with the community in the first place? I'm not asking for much like maybe a strike playlist that always has the lightning crystal modifier on and does some crazy shit with snowballs, maybe the enemies exclusively throw and shoot stasis grenades to combat our snowball shenanigans, maybe spider tanks have santa hats on them and their cannons shoot massive snowballs, something? I want to play the event but I REALLY don't enjoy farming shattered throne. Even just drastically improving the essence drop in master lost sectors, GMs, and master raids would be a BIG step in the right direction because you can do master lost sectors as a fireteam and still get essence and some decent drops plus they change sectors every day so you won't burn yourself out farming the exact same boss all 3 weeks. Its the little things.
I think i've played less than a week total since the start of this episode. and 3 of those were a bad decision due to sunk cost fallacy in Iron Banner. "Oh I can prestige in a single day with my 5 minute breathers inbetween matches after wating teammates botwalk into sniper lanes or miss a full smg clip into a shotgun rusher." Sure. Sure I could.
Tried to play final mission of witch queen, light fall and tfs. All soft locked and i couldn't continue. not surprised though, with how big the game is. design the game to last at most 3 years (up to Beyond light) proceeds to continue on with the game for another 3 shocker, the game doesn't work almost like hey should have made a 3rd game or something that could handle this much data. or, more effectively PLAY THEIR GAME TO MAKE SURE IT WORKS.
Bonk, maybe... Bonk, what if I... Bonk... Let's try to fly through it again... Bonk, nope... Maybe again... Bonk. Nope it's not a bumblebee trying to figure out how a sheet of glass works, it's just Bungie trying to design a a holiday event.
I think a good system would just be time spent in activity equals X amount of essence. This means that if you spend 40 minutes in activity and you can add a multiplier of it Like let’s say a 1.1 multiplier for a high an activity. Or a 1.2 multiplier for a raid, etc. You Then receive essence equal to amount a time spent. But this alone brings up other issues because that means players would just start a rain get towards the end go to bed wake up the Next morning and be showered and Essence. You could obviously apply Band-Aid fixes to this such as a time limit of a max of one hour or something like that that’s just an idea I had when I was listening to this video. I would assume Bungie has already thought about this, but it was not feasible in some sort of way either due to budget both manpower/monetary or game engine restrictions.
i nearly went all-in on mistral lift farming but i just randomly tried marvel rivals and uhh... i think i'll just be doing that this whole dawning, at least mistral will be back next year, if contest or onslaught rewarded good essence maybe i'd've considered it to double dip on drops i wanted
I deinstalled the game and I download it again whenever a new dungeon/raid is coming out. I get day one done for emblems and then I deinstall the game again. I think for most players that have played for a while now; the rolls might be unique and whatever, but you don't need new weapons after playing for all these years. I am just not excited to farm anything in Destiny as ill just end up using my good old G. Rolls from the past 5 years. They always deal the damage needed anyways. I think I would love to see new ways to play.. Glaives and Bows were for sure a step in the right direction (esp at the time), same for rocket sidearms! I just want more funky ways to play that feel new. A different rocket with other perks isn't unique enough to enjoy a new weapon.
Remember when bungie said eververse was going to fund these events and make them extremely fun and lively and now they boring, buggy, repetitive, stale, and over monetized? Remember when the dawning brought sparrow racing and not some stupid over priced event card? Remember the multiple times bungie has said “we need to earn players trust again”?
Yeah it's basically impossible for devs to code AND play test themselves. They really need a good QA team again. Maybe Sony can provide them with the resources and also they need to oust the problematic executives. They need someone with clear vision for the game instead of someone worried about the next car they will buy
It's sad how much time and joy I got out of Destiny to now see it's just grind stuff. Finally got an Xbox Series X last month, played for a total of 30 minutes to see what loading times and graphics look like on current gen (amazing), to never go back and focus on Black Ops 6. I dunno, maybe I'll come back at the start of a season, but it feels like I left an abusive relationship or quit an addiction, haha.
When I logged in for the first time in a week or so and saw that fxcking cookie oven I rolled my eyes so hard it probably affected the rotational axis of the planet.
They messed it up again! Just now it reset my whole dawning progress and put me back at the beginning! Oh, AND a solstice quest is now available at Eva. What a bunch of idiots.
Haven’t played in over a year, logged on for the first time last night to buy the armor and logged off, it’s been great, don’t think I’ll even log back on again.
Events should be a time to hunt down armor ornaments and special shaders. I mean, superblack was the main motivation for a lot of people during Into the light. Yoy give me some snazzy af armor ornament and I will 100% grind the event
Should it be yes is it gonna shake sense into the higher ups heads probably not. The dawning is the same as it’s always been but with bugs at every step this time. Gee maybe laying off the player support QA team wasn’t a good idea after all, it’s unfortunate the devs wanting to improve the game get screwed over We’re stagnant with development and improvements with the current leadership it’s not working all that well this is a wake up call for the players, bungie devs, and Sony to look at management or the higher ups and clean house
The purpose of copy and pasting code is to reuse old code that works. I genuinely have no idea how it’s possible that there are so many new bugs from an unchanged event
I personally enjoyed how quickly they were able to fix a cash shop issue, let the people who glitched it & are making people who couldn’t……still pay……then “pretend” that there was a cost glitch in the bundle…….fixed that immediately…….but dont worry, still cant use tether in the dungeon……cheaters everywhere……..dont worry though “we are gonna win your trust back”
Honestly, throwing on some Christmas music and farming shattered throne with my clan has been pretty fun. It’s boring grinding but better with good company. I used to play WoW. This is NOTHING.
This stuff happened before on shadowkeep, beyond light, witch queen. Seems they're hiring now though. Maybe they took out the bad apples.I know there was one employee "holding" the fix for a exploit.

As long as the dawning does not force you to wear a certain armor piece to earn any rewards, it will be my favorite event
@@agathor2017 You don't need to wear solstice armor to get the drops that pop out of the bonfire
*wear this 49 point armor to get maximum rewards!*
@@The_Ragequit_Cannon what about the other events they listed?
I found an alternative method for farming essence. Just do lost sectors where you can immediately get to the boss to kill to open the chest and where you can swiftly reload the lost sector. Regular lost sectors completions (chest openings) grant 3 essence. If you average out a strike to about 10 minutes, this method is still better, since some lost sectors can be done in under a minute (including reloading of the lost sector location so that the boss respawns), which would grant 30 essence in 10 minutes.
Absolutely not better than checkpoint farming, but good if you're completely solo.
What ones do you suggest?
But is fundamentally the same as checkpoint farming just with a different locale. Still boring. Like he said. Other game content would need to be more rewarding
@@Mr_Ruhl i think most edz lost sectors should work
atleast those near devrim
terminus east is the fastest by far. eager edge past all the ads and 12p the boss, grab chest and eager edge back out. 30ish seconds in and out

No it won't. People no longer spending money on it will be the wake up call.
The wakeup call will be when sony takesover bungie. Bungie has had a "low point" every year and nothing changes.
Before Lightfall, they were able to bring things back up to only have people leave temporarily, but at this point they really aren't able to bring things back up to those levels and a lot of people have permanently checked out.
They've had too many wake-up calls by now to not know what they're doing
Bungie doesn't care enough about these yearly events to update Petra Venj's cookie to say "Dreaming City" instead of "The Reef" which is a place that's been long gone from the game.
wasn't the dreaming city on the reef?
dude it took them months to change the engram tracker's "Vangaurd" misspelling they do not gaf
@@toadallyawfulJustice for van Gourd!
@@Golet234-2 - No, it was a separate location away from the reef.
@@TheTruthDragonNJ09No, the Dreaming City is in the Reef. It's on Vestia, which is a dwarf planet in the asteroid belt, aka, the Reef.
Guitar codes are getting more frequent across the whole game it's ridiculous.
Some things are significantly simpler to fix, we all get it. It's just that it _really looks bad_ when the easiest things to fix are *the ones that directly impact the game's ability to suck up the playerbase's money,* and the harder things to fix are *the ones that impact the gameplay itself.*
But I'm just reiterating things practically everyone before me has already said.
Even if its the opposite, with the insane amount of bugs, they should just ignore the bugs that help us and focus on the ones that hurt us
It’s like, how can you mess up a minor micro-transaction based event you urselves refused to change for the past 6 years.
They're being outclassed by F2P games at this point (I still don't consider D2 F2P but that's just me lol)
Who knows if hiring more people will even make a difference. Their engine is literally 20 years old, they only still use it bc the current devs can't figure out what the old devs did to make it feel so smooth. Halo 1 came out when I was in middle school and they're still on that engine despite almost every other AAA developer having upgraded engines multiple times in that time frame
They're lucky nobody is trying to be direct competition because they would fold if anyone ever did. First Descendant was close but also not close.
On the furnace UI, you can actually see your bounties by pressing left arrow (right D-Pad). Makes it much easier.
Bungie puts the effort into holidays that Dato puts into hunting new weapons as the drop, as little as possible if they can get away with not.
I wont lie the bug I have is that the weapons just aren't dropping and it took the last bit of wind out of my sails.
Every single reset my oven resets to only let me bake gjallardoodles and I have to do the 10 minute quest to start getting ingredients.
It also resets my memento quest which now doesn’t track any snowball kills even though I only have a single upgrade
It's a wake up call but they will hit the snooze, like always.
I'll be honest.. I haven't even started playing this season..
THEN WHY TF YOU HERE
I didn't finish last season nor got this one, I do plan on getting the next one because the concept sounds cool to me.
i haven't been playing the game since Episode 1 Act 2 lol
im just here cause i like watching Datto play this subpar game
@@Kostyahellstorm_IronLordwhy so mad?
Give 2 essence per wave completed of onslaught and 5 for legend onslaught.
What’s extremely sad is these suggestions, outside of bugs, can all be fixed by tomorrow. It’s not difficult. But due to the man power they won’t make any changes for us. Such a shame man, I love Destiny so much and really don’t want to give it up
Same :/
I agree that that event currencies should be increased, but just increasing them (or rebalancing them) won't solve everything.
Bungie forgetting to enable the events pay wall is hilarious!!!
I may or may not be paying some employees to sabotage the game as revenge for firing me.
mind ur business ewok
I literally still cannot get passed the intro quest on any character. All because I had the nerve to quickly login after the update, grabbed the quest on all 3 characters, and completed the Zavala gift on all. When they froze progression, they completely screwed me. I'm super bummed that it has been 5 days and nothing. Fuck this.
You're not missing anything but a new linear fusion, and nobody's using linear fusions until they get a serious buff again. The rest is all complete filler content that serves little to no point. You'll live lol
"Hey bungie, your new content is buggy you should've spent more time fixing it"
"Yeah no shit, we just went through a second layoff we have less people to help polish everything before release"
I've watched datto's content since I started playing Destiny in rise of Iron and I know he will bring some good criticism,
Can the comunity itself at least criticize the new content with more stuff that isn't just "onslaught: bugvation, festival of the bugs, episode bugevent, tomb of bugs, the bugging"
All of the issues have been caused, (directly or not,) by Pete Parsons and the higher ups. Not the actual workers crunching hours just to make sure the December event actually releases in December this time
Pete Parsons is the demon of Babylon
this is just our first moment of true fatigue, before we always coped or had something, but now the apathy has set in. i truly believe the ten year plan part of destiny was the only reason people stayed now
i’m pretty sure we literally had this exact conversation back during season of the plunder. anyone remember how buggy that season was? it was plagued with server issues and bad bugs.
the higher ups at bungie never learn.
The holiday events just feel like they found the formula that makes them the most money and stuck with it.
The vanguard emblems are actually really cool. No one has really mentioned them. They come from random gift openings.
"Will it be a wakeup call?"
[checks Bungie dev history]
No, no it won't.
No bungie will sweep this crap under the rug again and turn another blind eye.
They can't though now that they're owned by Sony. How they do directly affects Sony stock, attempts to sweep will just result in more loss of playerbase and eventually Sony will see it as a net loss and get rid of Pete and crew and put their own people in charge
Blueberry: Hey Datto, what's the current meta for xyz?
Datto: I dunno, prolly some bug.
Ive made close to 1k cookies over my last 10 years playing but the fact that everyone on day one got the paid pass for free makes me want 2 get the dragon armor for beight dust and thats it
Tbh I see nothing changing. The people in charge have made it clear they have zero intention of actually changing course ever.
Yeah Datto they’ll totally change this time just one more major screwup and they’ll improve!!
Anyone got Envious Arsenal/Bait and Switch on Mistral Lift?
Or has perk weighting come back with a vengeance?
I think i've played less than a week total since the start of this episode.
and 3 of those were a bad decision due to sunk cost fallacy in Iron Banner.
"Oh I can prestige in a single day with my 5 minute breathers inbetween matches after wating teammates botwalk into sniper lanes or miss a full smg clip into a shotgun rusher."
Sure. Sure I could.
Playing other games and jumping in later after bugs are addressed has worked out pretty well for me
Bungie: "we've heard your feedback and have disabled checkpoints in all activities."
Tried to play final mission of witch queen, light fall and tfs. All soft locked and i couldn't continue. not surprised though, with how big the game is.
design the game to last at most 3 years (up to Beyond light)
proceeds to continue on with the game for another 3
shocker, the game doesn't work
almost like hey should have made a 3rd game or something that could handle this much data.
or, more effectively PLAY THEIR GAME TO MAKE SURE IT WORKS.
I hope this is their wake up call, someone just asked me what my favorite game is, and I unfortunately couldn’t bring myself to say destiny.
I can't do anything my question bugged and I can't drop it
I deinstalled the game and I download it again whenever a new dungeon/raid is coming out.
Bungie: we’re sorry :(. Now please buy our armor sets
Short answer: They didn't learn the first time, why the fuck would they want to learn the 2nd time around?
Dont you mean the nth time
@ThePresidentofMars yes, we've gone through this shit so many times, they all kind of melded into like 3 instances for me.
I would like to give props for the fact that I can buy the new AND old armor with bright dust- I really like that 👍
I can’t make cookies. I can’t collect materials.
I dunno, maybe I'll come back at the start of a season, but it feels like I left an abusive relationship or quit an addiction, haha.
oh come on datto. you could have called it "the good, the bad, and the buggy" but noooooooooooooooooo
that would have been to much fun
What do you mean? This is the best thing ever! SNOWBALLS!
Absolutely not.
Speaking of wake-up calls, Marvel Rivals has been that for me, it's helped me peel away from D2 a bit.
I play Kingdom Hearts instead of Rivals because its a single player masterpiece.
They arent listening....they stopped about 3 years ago 🥳
Haven’t played in over a year, logged on for the first time last night to buy the armor and logged off, it’s been great, don’t think I’ll even log back on again.
But what you gotta understand Datto, it's that Pete really, REALLY wanted to get a new car.
With so many people away from their gaming setups over the holidays, Bungie gave us the gift of an event you don't have to play 💀
Events should be a time to hunt down armor ornaments and special shaders. I mean, superblack was the main motivation for a lot of people during Into the light. Yoy give me some snazzy af armor ornament and I will 100% grind the event
We joked about how bungie doesn’t test updates before launch but now we see what that actually looks like and it’s not very nice i must say.
Got this in my recommended even though i havent played in 2 years. Some things just never change, huh...
Should it be yes is it gonna shake sense into the higher ups heads probably not.
The dawning is the same as it’s always been but with bugs at every step this time. Gee maybe laying off the player support QA team wasn’t a good idea after all, it’s unfortunate the devs wanting to improve the game get screwed over
We’re stagnant with development and improvements with the current leadership it’s not working all that well this is a wake up call for the players, bungie devs, and Sony to look at management or the higher ups and clean house
The purpose of copy and pasting code is to reuse old code that works. I genuinely have no idea how it’s possible that there are so many new bugs from an unchanged event
I personally enjoyed how quickly they were able to fix a cash shop issue, let the people who glitched it & are making people who couldn’t……still pay……then “pretend” that there was a cost glitch in the bundle…….fixed that immediately…….but dont worry, still cant use tether in the dungeon……cheaters everywhere……..dont worry though “we are gonna win your trust back”
This was the final nail in the coffin for me literally F Bungie.
I just dont think any of this can or will be done. Not enough staff,no senior folks wanting it to happen.
Honestly, throwing on some Christmas music and farming shattered throne with my clan has been pretty fun. It’s boring grinding but better with good company. I used to play WoW. This is NOTHING.
Was the TFS player drop off not a wakeup call😅
Nothing will change
This stuff happened before on shadowkeep, beyond light, witch queen.
Seems they're hiring now though. Maybe they took out the bad apples.I know there was one employee "holding" the fix for a exploit.
