OMG I need to make the flannel quilt in Red and blacks for my son. He has been wearing flannels since he was about 6. He is now 27. He is my gentle Giant.🥰
I loved seeing the quilt parade. It is awesome to see the various color ways that people come up with. I am excited about the Dragon Fruit BOM. I joined in so I cannot wait. It is totally different than other quilts I have done. Tula is the master of colors and shapes. I’m glad there is a kit and pattern because I could not have mapped this out myself.
Thank you Pat Sloan for a fun, fun, fun QAL! I'll post my finished quilt next week on Facebook referencing the video & QAL. I used the What's in Your Closet theme literally ... and choose colors similar to what was in my 1970's closet. The blocks may not blend as perfectly as other collections that were in the quilt parade, but my quilt makes me smile (already ... and it's not done!) because it reminds me of the color choices I used to wear.
Love the quilt parades. I did my first QAL with what’s in your closet and mine hardly ever made it into the parade. Heavy sigh
Good morning, Pat! I Love the picnic quilt! I just made one for a baby and it turned out great! I’ve made a few of these. So classic!
Yaaaay for the picnic quilt. I did not participate in the QAL when it first came out, but I have been collecting Ruby Star charm packs ever since, so I am ready!! I just want to keep with the charm packs as much as possible. I may have to buy yardage for the light. My dark will be the dark blues/black/teals with their pinks, oranges, golds for the medium. The lighter sea greens may also work for the mediums. Will you be assembling the blocks as written? I would like a different approach to that because I would like to easily add on as new charm packs come out.

Gonna look through all my charm squares for making the Picnic Quilt! The Dragon Fruit quilt is awesome, but I won't be making it. I'm still finishing up the Petit Four quilt along that I started with FQS last October. It was also a FPP project, and will be a really cute wall hanging.

I didn’t join in the What’s in You Closet sew along but kinda wish I did. (So many other projects and things going on). There are so many beautiful Closet quilts made. I love seeing the quilt parades. I was on the fence about Dragon Fruit because it’s not necessarily “my style”, but I decided to join in and signed up for the BOM. Have a good day.
Thanks for the quilt parade! It does look like everyone had a great time with this Block Wednesday project. I'm pulling fabric for the Picnic Quilt, and remembered I have a fat quarter bundle of all of Andover's Floral States of America line that might work for the medium blocks. 2-3 blocks of each floral, navy or forest green for the dark, and maybe a white-on-white batik for the light. It should make a fun quilt. But there's a lot of time to make 100 other choices...overthinking again.

Great Closet quilts, everyone!! Disappointed that dragonfruit is only a kit. I like the pattern but those aren’t my colors. Besides, I have lots of fabric I love and I enjoy putting together my own color combinations.

I have seen the picnic quilt, but now you've sold me to it! I plan to teach my future daughter-in-law how to sew this summer. She is going to be my PA this summer to help me whilst I continue to recover from surgery--naturally, that means helping me get on with my projects! Someone's got to rotary cut and haul out stash boxes, right? Might as well take it the rest of the way. 😀 I have an old Bernina Chicago in perfect condition that she can have if she takes to the craft, and I'll make her a proper sewing box, too.
Thankfully, she is interested and eager to learn, and this will be a perfect first quilt, too! (Much easier than the half-circles my granny gave me as soon as she saw I could manage a nine-patch, LOL!) Meanwhile, I can make this with double the amount of 2.5" strips and do some stash-busting at the same time. Kismet! Thanks!

I love Kimberly and the FQS but I learned the hard way she loves blocks with many small pieces...lol! Still working on one of their block of the month I signed up for a few years ago. One block alone had over 50 pieces.

Does the fat quarter shop give plenty of fabric for their block of the month quilts?
I found it is plenty. But i do not know your definition of 'plenty'. I have never had an issue. And i cut what is needed. I do not cut WOF unless the pattern says to do it

I love the Tula Quilt but have so much life happening I don't want to commit. I may need to join the picnic quilt though.

No problem here, check with your service provide. All my emails go on Mon/Wed/Fri if there is a video . They do not send on Tuesdays
