Like the new floor routine, but really miss seeing her 3 1/2 twist. That skill is incredibly unique, difficult, and well suited to McKayla's tumbling style. The double layout is so conventional and is used by many other gymnasts in competition.
Well her prior floor routine was horribly planned. Her 3rd pass was a built in deduction. It just required too much space so she either went out of bounds or underrotated cause she was trying to avoid going out of bounds. Someone like her who is THAT AMAZING on vault and tumbling should not have been receiving so many deductions on her tumbling passes last quad
She absolutly had it all, she could have been much more successful had she not been dealing with the horrible abuse and if her coaches better handled her routines
Yes you're right, the blind landings can be tougher physically and from all that Amanar vaulting she said the 3.5 twist was hurting her back so yes you're correct
Well, during the last quad she consistently either went out of bounds on her 3rd pass or underrotated it. Her 3rd pass was a BUILT IN error/dedication in the prior quad. Her 3rd pass was running into 1.5 twist and then a double tuck. It took much space to do it so she would either go out of bounds or she would try so hard to slow down to stay in bounds that she would underrotate the double tuck
This should have been her floor routine for the prior quad! It was more difficult by a tenth AND, MORE IMPORTANTLY. it didn't have that old 3rd pass which was a built in deduction for her in the prior quad. So more difficult and a higher average execution, yes she should have used this routine in the prior quad!
With her amazing twisting form she could have dismounted with a triple twist. Would have bumped up her difficulty a tad too. But WOW, such a better routine for her than 2012. That built in major deduction of a 3rd pass in 2012 was so unnecessary.
A real treasure of the sport. I miss her!

David Levkoff I think for the 2013-2016 quad, the double layout was one of the required tumbling passes
How is a double layout required?
kras118 two rotations in the air
Edward Adaba she had a double pike to fill that req
@@edwardadaba8734 there is a double salto requirement in each floor exercise routine, but the double layout itself was not required.
Her double layout is gorgeous
God, How I wish she held on to 2016... but it was not meant to be
I never used to LOVE her floor that much but her execution has improved TREMENDOUSLY!!!

mckayla had it all and she still does

exceptional athlete 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I know, but the 3 1/2 twist is rated the same as the double layout (an F) and she said that skill was hurting her back.

Beautiful tremendous work! Her tumbling passes used the largest amount of distance and height without going out of bounds.

That double layout landing looked like it hurtttt
Looked like she landed and crunched her toes

I miss Mckayla, I remember watching her train at the gym.
that 2.5 to front full has HEIGHT. her vaulting ability shows beautifully in that second pass
I love her, and especially her hands! It's like she has 10" fingers. She's very graceful and has so much personality. :)
Legend
I miss her
such a lovely gymnast. a shame when coaches don't safely coach their kids.
Still love her fx music
I would love for her to get her 3.5 or a quad!!!
Geesh that Arabian was SO high!
Name of the music?
Well that was amazing. :)
Alicia Sacramone, Julia Steingrüber, Simone Biles, and McKayla had the best Gogean leaps by far.
Will she upgrade!
