    Love the color of your blankets. I used to set our tent up in the house and left the lights off at night so the kids could turn on their little lantern lights or flashlights. We cooked hotdogs and smores and other camping treats. The kids loved it. Hope you all enjoy no matter what you decide.

      SUMMER: Where to place that first stitch; if the ch 3 Counts as a stitch, you skip the first stitch at the base of the ch 3 and stitch in the next. If it does not count as a stitch, you you do use the base of the chain 3. You usually DO NOT count a chain 1 as a stitch.

    Love the colors of both of your Hugs & Kisses blankets. That pattern is a yarn eater, I made one a few years ago. But! It's such a pretty pattern, it's worth it. Ha! I always have the same problem with skipping the stitch after a chain or whatever! I copy and paste patterns the same way you do. Spreading it out really helps me, too.

    I laughed, I heard my inner self when you said, " I'm not gonna lie, I'd rather stay home and crochet". 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It IS what we do, things the kids love but we could do without. 😍 BOTH versions of your blanket look beautiful! I have been looking for a blanket pattern like this. Thanks for sharing. The stacked single crochet is a stitch I just recently came across. It replaces the chain 2 or 3 at the beginning of a dc row. Drives me nuts too! PS, I always underestimate the amount of yarn I need for blankets. Then I get told my blanket is too short! 🤣🤣🤣

    beautiful blanket. I ch1 then go back and enter whatever stitch is noted in pattern. Even when patterns don’t say go back in to that first stitch I usually do otherwise there is a huge gap.

    Oh my goodness the colors are beautiful!! You have done amazing ! Love it!!! Wow I love you rainbow blanket. It really did work out perfect.when I turn my row I always chain 1 instead of chaining 3 turn my work then double crochet into the same chain. It seems for me to keep a straight edge and fills that first space if you know what I mean. That's just what I do. Not sure if it's right but always works for me. Love your spirit and channel.

    Great idea fir a rainbow blanket - it’s so pretty! Re: starting row chains: Try using a standing dc or sc at the beginning of the row instead of chains - I started doing this a few years ago after watching Tamara of Moogly crochet tutorial video. I slip st into that first st then make the standing st - this keeps the st count accurate and alleviates the space. Have fun with those kiddos - they may just want to spend time with ‘the folks’!

    Hey, Summer.. I sort my yarn the same way... mostly by brand... Love your new blanket...too much counting for me, though... But it looks great...
    Sorry about the camping trip.. I know you hated to disappoint the kids.. BUT.... Rainy days are great for crocheting.... 😊.
    I have a big purple 31 bag that I love. It holds lots... I can put several,projects in it... it was a gift from my daughter...who knows I love pretty bags..
    I just finished two baby blankets.. Going a baby shower for my niece Saturday...She is expecting her sixth baby! Thus little girl was a complete surprise...She had given ALL of her baby things away... HA! God had other plan!

  • @LooptyLou60
    @LooptyLou60 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Check out stacked SC and standing DC for that first stitch.
    It doesn't take long for the tent to dry out, so if there's not continuous rain it's possible to get it dry.

    Regarding the chain 3 at the beginning of a row: I don't do a ch3...but rather a chain 1, and then go into that same 1st space and do a regular DC. It's a wee bit bulky but it's really just the one thicker looking stitch, in my eyes anyway. It eliminates that "hole" on the ends.

  • @yarnchic60
    @yarnchic60 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Usually when deciding whether to use the first stitch it depends if the chain counts as a stitch . If the chain counts as a stitch you skip the first stitch, if the chain doesn’t count as a stitch you go into the first stitch .

    I've always liked that hugs and kisses pattern but I think the bobbles really eat the yarn up. Rainbow is pretty. I think their patterns use the universal standards if that's what you call them so that's why they are easy to read. I think anyway. Leaving the white space leaves room for notes too. Camping in rainy weather isn't fun though.
