Your 2 videos is far better than most big calisthenics channels, both in tips and in humor. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to the next one!
Wonderful tips.. i am still extremely hesitant for my first handstand jump to the wall considering what it could possibly do to my neck. But I am trying to gain my confidence and do this at my own pace. You're my online Calisthenics tutor that i have arrived at after watching several videos
Ive started getting shoulder pain and i started doing elbow levers 3 days ago and handstands 1 day ago. Do you know why this is happening and how to fix it? Thanks and i love your videos btw
I'd like to learn the handstand. I can do some intermediate stuff like bent arm planches, frogstand to bent arm handstand, L sit pullups and dragon flags and it feels weird that I can't do a handstand. Living in a metropolitan in India in lockdown mode in a small house where there are barely any walls to handstand against is a problem, tho. My question is, how do I overcome the fear of trying to kick up and land my feet against the wall? I feel like if I try, my feet will slide and I'll end up falling sideways and twist my spine. Baseless fear, I know. But I can't help it. Any advice?
One way to overcome the fear of doing handstands is to do handstand kick ups (also called handstand reps). I know that in my case, handstand kick ups helped me to gain the confidence to hold the handstand without a wall. This video explains them. I'll make some videos about this in the future :) Subscribe so you don't miss them. My main tip for avoiding shoulder injuries, though, is to strengthen the muscles around the scapula and the serratus anterior. Hope this helps.
Great video! Straight forward and to the point I like it! Question; have you had previous gymnastics experience? I'm starting out with calisthenics and was thinking of going to an open gym to focus on specific techniques such as the handstand. Bottom line, I want to know if it's even necessary. Thanks!
Hey Jack, only just saw this! I used to do gymnastics when I was a tiny kid, so actually the handstand practise that I did always stuck with me. You don't need gymnastics experience to learn the handstand though! Glad you enjoyed the video, and I hope your training is going well :D
You will develop your shoulder, upper back, and core strength. You will also improve your hand balance. And it will help you learn more advanced calisthenics skills
I can do about 40-50 push-ups and I can do about a 3-5 second l sit I am 15 year old Can u please tell me in how much time will I be able to learn the handstand?

@@syrm7_959 Yeah lol being skinny will make you **leaner** (natural cuz i liek natural) but its more painful to work out and hard to gain muscle....being fat sucks because a lot of *loose* skin can happen which looks like bulky and less chiseled (less lean*)

So how strong am I supposed to be to do handstands? Like should I be able to do 10 push ups with ease before I try this?
Yes, ideally!

The time it takes to learn a calisthenics skill is different for each person. The handstand is tricky, so it may take 1-6 months.
You and I are nearly similar. I am 16 and can do only 30 good form pushups, but I can hold a 45 second L-sit.

I keep pushing too far and ending up just flipping over onto the other side. Can anyone help?
Keep practising and train safe! You could also try it against the wall to stop you flipping
Im 17 and i tried to do this but my mom won’t let me
Your mom won’t let you do a handstand?
Will hand stand stop your growth?
Nope, it shouldn't
😂
I cant even do handstand against the wall dude I am too skinny
I wish I was skinny
Its easier to get muscles than being fat and lose weight first

Increased shoulder strength, increased hand balance, and it will make learning advanced calisthenics skills like bent arm handstand presses easier :D
