Omg so glad I found your channel. I have arthritis in both knees and have let myself get super out of shape in the past few years, especially with the pandemic. I’m also bow legged, and have had ACL replacement over 10 years ago on my right knee, so getting out of shape is a really bad thing for me, as it takes away my ability to walk pain free for any good amount of distance. Finding an exercise channel like this for people that need gentle but effective ACTUALLY low impact exercise routine is like finding gold. This will help me get strength back without killing my knees and back. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
So glad I found you. Am finally starting to move like a 40 year old instead of 90. I’ve been inactive for almost two years this has been life changing.
I found these gentle movements helpful. I forget that I don’t have to do strenuous movements to get the blood circulating. I’m a little slower tham Alyssa but will keep practising.
I just wanted to say thank you!! I have OA in both knees and have been on anti-inflammatory meds for 4 months and they have not helped at all. I just had a Hyaluronic Acid Injection, also with no effect. I am on the list for a knee replacement but that's 2 years away. The stiffness prevents me from any activity over 15 minutes. I am so glad that you popped up on my Instagram. I've been doing these exercises, and although I just started and it hasn't taken effect yet, I am so hopeful. Thank you for giving me hope back!
There are quite a few videos on the channel. I also have a great membership which has videos for people with different types of levels. you can learn more at keeptheadventurealive.com/start
Alyssa, my OsteoArthritis stage 4 is complicated by Stenosis. You are VERY muscular & the videos are SUPER! When you go from sitting exersises to ones on foot, you change from one foot to the other so quickly! Impossible for Real Arthritis slowcoaches! I wonder if the introduction to " Keep the Adventure Alive" couldn't include more exercises sitting? Stage 4 is rigid & inflexible. I'm beginning to think that I might not be able to do the course.Hoping to do the beginners mini-course slowly & feel improvement. My active 43yr.old daughter( practices Muy Thai & carried Pan American Olympics Torch) has told me she needs a hip replacement. Canadian she works at The University of Toronto. I can't believe it. 5ft.7" 113lbs.muscular....She runs, the Orthopedist said her hip was worn out!
Finding you on tiktok and following your suggestions feels like a game changer for me. Osteoarthritis in both knees, honestly so fearful of reaching the point where TKR is my only option. It has been heading in this direction for many years now to where i see a surgeon for care. Cortisone injections help as pain relief for 4-6 months where it used to last longer between shots. I'm so hopeful getting muscle strength back will help support and take some of the burden off my knee joints. Left knee worse than right. Thank you for your message of hope with these exercises. I plan to make this 20 minute beginner video part of my day, every day. 🤞
Thank you! I ave been wanting to work out, but I have osteo in my hips (and the weight gain that goes along with menopause and not moving due to pain) and finding a workout that doesn't leave me feeling like I got hit by a truck is difficult. I can actually do these and feel okay after! Thank you!
I just came cross your videos. amazing! thanks. I have been diagnosed with arthritis in lower back and facet joint syndrome and disc degeneration. None of the 4 docs told me do this or avoid that. I am just trying to find out what best works with me. horrible journey. So far, I love your videos. thanks again.
Thank you so much for this routine and advice Dr Alyssa......this is so effective for a very painful hip after a lot of walking..... from limping to moving normally....incredible....you deserve thousands of subscribers. 😃

Thanks for all the exercises that you taught us. Last night's I had to get up after I was already sleeping because my whole lower body was killing me.and I did the exercise. After I did it. I was ready to sleep. My life has been very difficult. After my scoliosis surgery, almost my whole back is fused , so my muscles can't work like before. One of my screws was broken I am going to have a new surgery letter this year to fix the broken screw and surgery in my SI joints. Thanks very much
Alyssa, I get to say you've become my influencer. I have a bilateral arthritis in hips after traumatic event, and replacement is just the last resort. Things seemed rather gray ahead of me...until you happened in my YT feed! Spectacular. Wise, funny, and may I say very pretty! Thanks for letting me think of new adventures far from home :). Cheers!!!

thank you so much, I had an arthritis flare up two days ago, and the last time this happened it took me months to feel confident to return to exercise. This (and your videos bout what to do when you have a flare up) helped me get back to exercise in two days. Really grateful Alyssa!
I got exercies from PT and found it hard to get motivated, so glad I stumbled upon your channel as most are in your video and it is much easier to get going following you. Both my mobility and pain have greatly improved - thank you

Thank you so much. I have started the 5 day challenge, and wow! I'm getting some ease so far. I will continue moving, so glad I found ur channel and I think my search is over.💕
This has become a favorite hip OA warm up. Some lateral movements have really challenged me, but my legs feel stronger. I use this in the morning to warm up my joints. Recently, I found this practice great for travel - using it before a long airport walk and before sitting on a 3.5-hour flight. Mades me feel more confident traveling, knowing that I have some great tools to counteract mobility challenges that surface away from home. Thank you, Alyssa.
Alyssa thank you so much for your generosity in sharing these videos. All the videos I have tried, including this one are excellent. I do this everyday and it has been a game changer so many time. I also looked for an IT band pain video today and again the three exercises already started to help. I plan to do them everyday also and hopefully this issue will resolve in time. Thanks a million, all your videos are highly effective.
I have a stiff knee from a fall a couple of years ago and hip arthritis. These exercises have really helped me get started on moving more easily without pain.
Hello, thank you for having this channel and sharing your knowledge to help others. A friend of mine sent me the link of your channel. I wanted to ask you if your exercises and tips are also good for OSTEOARTHRITIS. I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis when I was 36 years old on my knees, hips and lover back. Thank you so much. 🙏🏻🙋🏻♀️
Hi, I just found your channel. I have rheumatoid and osteo arthritis basically in my whole body... some days, its hard to walk at all. I also have bone on bone in one of my knees. Your exercises have really helped me! Thank you :)
Hi, I just found this and completed the video. I really like it, but I found a few issues, at least in my own body. 1) you don't mention not grinding the knee - I was doing that with the exercise that was NOT a lunge (It's the only way I can remember it) into the exercise you mention using the quad - not the knee to straighten out; 2) you don't mention not working the back, I found myself working my back hard. Am I off base? Otherwise I love the video. Just need to know how to loosen up my back and knee after it.
I do these exercises all the time, sometimes in a pool. My arthritis pain has not been relieved and honestly they seem to have gotten worse (bad days could be weather related). I have arthritis EVERYWHERE. I’m just sick of the pain, most especially at night.
Would this work if you have a walker mobility aid? If the person had pain throughout their body and needed it to move around I mean. or would this be more for light pains?
I’m confused by some seeming conflicting information about hip flexor tightness with osteoporosis. Seems like I should stretch the tight flexor to relieve tightness/pain then work on strengthening that muscle and glutes. I would appreciate some clarification.

Trying new movements and some exercise can lead to some discomfort. If it is a lower level of pain, it could be your knees are just getting used to it. Higher levels of pain may indicate it’s a little too much for your joints right now. If you experience higher levels of pain afterwards- it could also be a sign of a little too much for your joints right now. I would keep working at it and see if you can experience reduced discomfort!
