    Hello my friend I discovered something on a waypoint mission I tried. you can take control of your Gimble camera as long as one of your weight points are disabled on the gimble mode pitch setting. Which I think is great because the last way point before it comes back to you. I like the fact that you can move the camera up or down as it's coming back to you and also rotate the copter if you have no PO I on that way point

    Any way you can re-do this tutorial with the new version of Litchi?

      +ShoHashi yeah, look around on my channel.. I recently did a series of newer Litchi vids. th-cam.com/video/f7x4z_GT52Y/w-d-xo.html The vid in the link is from 2 months ago, it's a newer version. Even though there's been a minor update since then it doesn't change the looks or setup of waypoints. You'll notice on this vid there's no altitude marker on the waypoint icons, the vid in the link you'll see has them. As far as visual UI that's the only update, that and a waypoint upload and camera shutter meter. Doing your setup workflow and all that is still the same as this vid.

      Will do...I have a mission saved. Just waiting on some better weather......and my nervousness of running the mission automanously! I've always flew my P3A within my visual range! lol

      ShoHashi just make sure your altitudes are good and there's no obstructions on the flight path. If you lose signal the gimbal will lock in the same position it had when the signal was lost.

      Adrian Stewart yes.. if you get litchi make sure to go into the settings and adjust the rth altitude high enough to avoid any potential obstacles it may encounter on the way home. There's videos on how to use all the features and if you have any other questions feel free to ask me.

    do you have to have the phantom turned on in order to set way points? I cant seem to see the map unless I do, so a bit lost on setting way points "off line"--please let me know how to do this --It says you are disconnected, so I imagine that you are not conected to the phanthom. Sorry for the "dumb question"

      +Shop and Discover Ok, I'm using an android phone.. But it should work the same on Apple devices. Without connecting the phantom or turning on the remote, make sure the iPad has some kind of internet connection (4g or wifi), open Litchi, change the flight mode at the top left corner to waypoints and the map should come up and minimize the live feed view. Find the location where you want to run waypoints, set POI's first, then draw out the path. Also, I don't have my phone's GPS turned on while creating missions, I just manually zoom in on the area and get to drawing. I think, but not 100% sure, even if your device doesn't have GPS you can still run waypoints.

      Thanks ! I can seem to find where after drawing the line , how to set distance between waypoints in Batch.

    • @HI-PSI
      @HI-PSI  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      IslandDigital check out my newer Litchi vids. They are done with the latest version. As soon as you lift your finger after drawing the line, the slider at the very top of the batch settings is what you're looking for. Look for "Waypoint Spacing".

  • @richardPalmisano
    @richardPalmisano 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What is the difference and meaning to put a a whole bunch of waypoints in a straight line when you would only need 2 especially to make a straight line I hope I'm explaining this right lol. It just seems to me you can do the same waypoint missions without having to insert a whole bunch of them close together when you draw the mission. And as long as you have curved turns it's going to be smooth. Please help me understand lol thank you. You are very good at waypoint missions that's why I subbed. Feel free to check out my drone videos and tell me what you think. My videos are basic flying but with good editing .I would really like to learn and understand how to use waypoint missions. By the way I'm using iOS thanks

    • @HI-PSI
      @HI-PSI  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're correct, it doesn't really matter if you have it set to curved turns. The main difference I guess would be you could manage altitude changes more precisely but I haven't done a video demonstrating that. I'll check out your vids

    • @richardPalmisano
      @richardPalmisano 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the fast response my friend and yes that makes sense if you were going to change altitude if I want to do a waypoint mission with a few poi, what setting do I have to have it on for me to have control of the rotation and the gimble but I want it to follow the POi and have total control, because I do a lot of my own manual camera control and rotation

    • @HI-PSI
      @HI-PSI  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Richard Palmisano Good question. I don't think you can plan it like that but you could setup 2 separate missions for the same area. One a POI and another manually controlled. All you would have to do is run the POI, once you get the shot stop that mission and upload the manual one right quick. That way you know you'll get the POI footage then you'll have the rest of the battery to film with manual rotations. I will say this, POI waypoint flights are WAY smoother on rotations vs manual rotations. I have a couple manual waypoint mission vids and I had to edit out a lot of the turns.

    • @richardPalmisano
      @richardPalmisano 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ZNoble thanks that sounds like a plan I'm going to try to give this a go and see how I like it and comes out and thanks again my friend

    • @HI-PSI
      @HI-PSI  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was just an example I made for a friend. If you like, I can make a new video planning a real mission and the phantom footage to show the finished result.

    • @shopanddiscover4483
      @shopanddiscover4483 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      that would be great! i want to be able to set this up offline

    • @HI-PSI
      @HI-PSI  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Shop and Discover You can set them up offline but you're going to have to be connected to the internet at some point for a little while so it will save the map to cache. So connect the iPad to the internet, open up Litchi, maximize the map, and load the map where you plan on flying. It should save some of it to cache so it'll show up while offline. All that said, I did try a super cheap android tablet not too long ago, it did not have GPS or an internet connection (i live way out in the country so no isp's for us). What I had to do in that case was draw out my missions on my phone, save the missions (automatically stores online to my account), then the next time I went to a friend's place in town all I had to do was connect the cheap tablet to wifi, sign into Litchi and there were my saved missions ready to go. Its a hassle but if you have wifi at home or of the iPad has 4g you shouldn't have a problem.
