Thank you so much for your great Litchi update, I’ve had the program for a long time but I’ve not used it and I’m looking forward to going outside today and giving it a fly around my house. I’d like to put my point of interest as the chimney of my house so I’m excited to try that. Thanks so much
Go 4 app has become very glitchy with my iPad, and I have no confidence in it working for a complete flight. Litchi has become my go to app, thanks to your tutorials. Thanks!
Hey Dylan from Calgary Canada! Just got Litchi finally for Mavic 2 Pro and really appreciate your simple set up and how to use tutorial, even if it's 6yrs old!! Thanks for doing this, and the advanced one as well...I'm going to be filming some golf courses for their websites, and this planning makes it SO much easier than to try and manually fly each hole and making mistakes and having to do again!
I have not had my Spark for very long but I had seen another video about Litchi before I got it and I knew that I would eventually buy this app. Using waypoints is what I had in mind in the first place for flying my Spark. I appreciate that you did this demonstration which has shown me that Litchi is way easier to use than I thought it would be. I wish that you would repeat this demo while flying a Spark so I can see that it is fully compatible. Thanks for this video.
Thanks I wasn’t quite sure about Litchi since my area has not been mapped 3D. This makes planning and coding the mission easier. I was watching Phantom Flight school which is great but very intense and quite a bit of programming using info from Google earth Pro
Thanks for your tutorial! I live in Pennsylvania, and set up several waypoint routes around my house. Then I set up several waypoint routes around my lakes side cabin in Canada. The waypoint routes around my home were really fun! I was able to go back to my Canadian waypoint routes and modify them. Later I went back to my Litchi app (after have not using it for several days) and when I turned it on there was this "bulls eye" thing in the lower left with a red arrow on it. There also was a red arrow near the blue dot on my map screen. The problem was that the red arrow near where I was entering adjustments to my local waypoint route would "attach" to the start point of the waypoint route. The real killer was that when I loaded my routes I previously entered for Canada, this red arrow thing would attach to the first waypoint of which ever Canadian waypoint route I wanted to modify. Well, since this increased the route to 1,540,000 feet, I couldn't modify my Canadian waypoint routes. ALSO, the satellite view didn't return, and the waypoint route was on something that looked like graph paper! How do I stop the red arrow to attaching to the first waypoint on my various waypoint routes?
You have done an excellent video to explain this Litchi Waypoint thing. My Mavic Mini, even after months of waiting for DJI to release the SDK, so to allow Litchi to be compatible, it will NOT be able to do Litchi Waypoints. For the past 2 weeks I have been trying to figure out the new Dronelink 'thing'... and seems the more time I spend on it - the less I understand. The UI has got me lost, plus literally what seems like 100s of option combinations, is really only for advanced Physics Flight Engineers... u get the point, LOL No one even knows for sure if the new MA2 can eventually utilize Litchi. I am thinking of getting the Mavic Air, just to allow me to do Waypoints on Litchi?? Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video. Litchi seems so intuitive as opposed to Dronelink!
I flew with waypoints for the first time yesterday in my Mavic Pro. OMG, what the hell was DJI thinking? Even in my P2V+ i could plot without flying. Time to resurrect my Litchi app. Thanks for the video...should be following your tips in the next hour. Thanks.
Good video! Everything is explained and to the point. I´ve been a little anxious to try this app. Been somewhat frustrated by DJI GO 4 waypoint programming. Just bought it for my iPad Mini4 and will give it a go this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration!
Dylan, Great instructional video on the Litchi App software! I’d definitely like to see further videos on the software App discussing all its benefits and cons over the DJI Go4 app! Thank you for he great overview video!
wow, this is super cool. I bought a drone to be able to video property (land) that I buy and sell... this is will be tremendous to help me focus on a preflight path and get really easy video as I do not profess to be a great pilot/photog... thanks
you are very poised for doing thorough Litchi tutorials but what Id like to see is the numerics of this app like POI and the altitude number that appears at the POI also degrees of gimble tilt is important how do we judge that tilt pr height of drone . Lots to cover cool guy Im subscribing waiting on your POI and numbers in gimble tilt vid.
Subb''d and thumbs up. Nice video on Litchi Waypoints. I see no "calibrate compass" notice like I do in the DJI software. Do you manually have to go into the Litchi menu and there calibrate the compass??
Is that an iPad you’re using? I just found out from DJI they don’t support iOS. Everything I own is iOS due to my job. None of my pilot apps work in Android and I really don’t want to have to buy a second phone just for DJI. Hoping Litchi will work this out for me. Thank you for the awesome vid, subscribed!
Hi Dylan, just new to this litchi app for my mavic air. Have set up missions close to my residence just for practice. First, does video recording automatically start and stop (without setting it to automatically record under camera section)? Secondly I want to have the gimbal point down on the road going and returning from a mission so do I have to enter POIs right on the road and have the gimbal tilt 90° down? Any suggestion would be much appreciated... Thank you..
Excellent buddy, well worth your effort, thanks for doing it! I'm now subd, more please! Oh, and I'm in the UK, so you've gone international??? Stephen M. PS, those are my daughters in my avatar!!
Well done Dylan. Appreciate the video. Can you please tell me how you set the points of interest so that the drone focuses on those and automatically sets the gimbal angle? I am comparing this to the Waypoints feature that comes with the DJI Go 4 app's waypoint feature. Thank you.
Great video Dylan. I have also done waypoints with my mavic pro using litchi but for some reason, it only seems to center my POI's maybe 20 or 30 percent of the time. It quite often looses center on the POI between long waypoints or not even hitting the POI at all. I have even tried adding waypoints in between to try to help keep the camera centered on the POI. That helps a little but unfortunately, its just not good enough to get the professional, cinematic shots I would like. I wonder if litchi still has some fine tuning to do for reliability on waypoints with the mavic pro. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future.
Very nice video, well explained how Waypoints work with Litchi app for DJI Drones. Quick question, when you fly Waypoints mission with Litchi app, does the telemetry data / flight data show on the live video feed from the drone? If yes then is there a way to get rid of it? Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work!
Cool video, super explanation,, just one question regarding app, will it work with android mobile, dji go 4 app is strange with android device's. Anyways enjoyed the video
I'm curious if you have used Litchi's "Mission Hub" (flylitchi.com/hub ) to create and mange waypoint missions? It looks like it is a more efficient way to go versus the app.
Hi and thank you for this tutorial series! I wonder if there is a way to record a specific flight path, not way points but your actual flight. Something like a playback.
Great video! Been flying for a couple of years now, looked into using Litchi for the purposes of waypoint missions. In a mission or waypoint mode, is it possible to manually adjust the flying height. Many thanks.
I have this same question. Let me know if you figure out an answer. I believe you should be able to manually override any automatic flight if you get on the controls but I have never used this app, so not sure.
Hi Dylan I would like to ask something, we live in Malta and we have quite a famous church here, The Mosta Dome. I would like to fly a mission around the church using waypoints, instead of POI, during the mission I want my drone (Mavic Air) to fly above the church dome, with my camera pointing straight down on the center of the dome and spin around once or twice and the carry on with the mission, is this possible. I hope you understand what I mean, by the way I am a new pilot and very new to the Litchi app.
Dylan, I’ve set a file for your Litchi tutorials, I’ve been holding on for someone to do these before I buy it. We all appreciate the time and effort you put into this. Looking forward to your next one thanks pal. This video is what I had in mind when I chose the Mavic over a Typhoon, but Dji are a bit behind on this wouldn’t you say ?
Thanks for the tutorial. I have been using Litchi for little over a month and when I'm finish with my flight I can't find the video that was recorded on my device so I can edit without pulling the card, can you please help.
If you had the ft set on 100, what would happen if you tried to fly it over the Grand Canyon? Would it suddenly drop into the Canyon, would it drop some but make it across or would it stay 100ft above the first edge of the Canyon until it made it to the next edge?
Hey Dylan, very interesting technology. I see you have to allow for obstructions like buildings, trees, etc... but what about power poles, power lines, telephone lines etc.... Things too small to see from the camera's eye? Awesome stuff!
WHY DOESN'T THE MAVIC PRO HAVE THESE WAYPOINT ABILITIES IN THE DJI GO 4 APP!! They obviously do it with the new MAVIC 2 ( KIND OF LOOKS LIKE THEY STOLE IT FROM LYCHIE THAT WAS DOING IT ALL ALONG WITH THE MAVIC PRO ORIGINAL) so if the mavic pro can basically do the same thing with the litchi app in the past couple of years with waypoints that the mavic 2 does now.. Great video and very clearly explained I watched several Waypoint videos yours is hands-down the best appreciate it I'm off to Waypoint

graywoulf I will see about doing that very soon! I was wondering about the Spark and how it worked with Litchi myself earlier.
Thank you for this Great Video & this Detailed Explanation .
Speaking as someone who has been using Litchi Waypoints a lot (it's primarily how I fly my Mavic Pro), this is great, as always from you! :)
Henry Lefkowitz Thank you for the kind words Henry!

This video was super helpful. Thanks!
So pissed that I cant do this with DJI Mavic Pro. Definitely trying this tonight! Great TUT!
Very nice, i will also try the Lichie app in the Netherlands, i hope it works the same as in your mavic 2 pro
Excited to hear about any tutorials for litchi’s waypoints.
That was very very cool Dylan. And yes on doing more videos on the Litchi app and what it can do. Safe flying my friend.
Awesome. You’ve answered every question I had 🤛🏾

Can you Set a Waypoint that will take your drone out of controller range, and have it still complete mission???
Very nice video, well explained how Waypoints work with Litchi app for DJI Drones.

Is it possible to combine Litchi modes? For example, could an orbit be placed in a waypoint sequence?
What is the difference between dji app built in waypoints and litchi app? Thanks
I'm curious if you have used Litchi's "Mission Hub" (flylitchi.com/hub ) to create and mange waypoint missions? It looks like it is a more efficient way to go versus the app.
If you had something programmed into the path of the drone (like the water tower) would the drone use it's collision avoidance or would it hit it.

Nick Evans it’ll be 100 ft from your launching altitude

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
muzikmon2267 money lol
question.. do you require an internet connection when at the flying location to function the app ?
Can you add a Hyperlapse to waypoints?
Using the Litchi app, will it still recognize the Controller settings that we preset within DJI GO4?
apparently so - I saw this mentioned on another video, the settings (EXP etc) once set in DJI app get written to the quadcopter.
How can i connect litchi app with different phantom 3 standard
The reason why I got into the litchi app in the first place is because the DJI go 4 app was so resource hogging it caused transmission video problems!!
I just been so afraid to use it even though I paid for it. GETTING SCARED ABOUT FLYAWAYS!!!!!
I dont see all the options on my computer like I do on my crystalsky?
Ignore below! I was not sequencing loading and making new flights correctly!
Does anyone know what a floppy disk is?
Too verbose. Try to script your presentation so you don't ramble on
Nah. I’m good with my style. It’s worked really well. 😁
