  • Here is my long term review on the Polaris Matryx KHAOS BOOST 155! I have rode over 1,000 miles on it and in this video we will discuss my opinions on the polaris boost. We will discuss reliability, durability, chassis, engine, and if I recommend this snowmobile to you.

    Don't know if i necessarily agree with you. I have ridden a Pro and a Khaos - i honestly believe its easier for me to initiate turns and keep on edge with the Khaos. I absolutely LOVE both sleds but the Khaos is easier on my body at the end of the day and I'm 53. Just sayin

    I love my boost, I have a pretty similar opinion. I haven’t had one issue and my only compliant is that I wish it had a little more on the bottom but I’m saying that once you get used to riding it and how it feels you don’t really notice that. I also have around 1000 miles on mine. Keep up the good content!!

      Ya the bottom end needs some work in my opinion. My advice to fix that is reach out to VOHK. They have tunes that really help the low end! You can still run pump gas if you want. They also have other tunes!!

    You are so correct on the Khaos rails. I have a 165 Axys no boost. I spent a whole season just learning how to ride a sled all over again. It literally kicked my ass.

    I’ve been riding for 4 seasons had an 08 summit 800 to an 2016 axis 800 then to a 2021 khaos 163 supercharged and the last one I had was the 2023 9r the chassis on the maytrix slash was insane but the 9r did not have any top end so I snow checked a 2024 khaos slash boost and I can’t wait to get roudy, this video was awesome in explaining a riders point of view and I feel more confident with my next purchase, thank you!

    Thanks for the in depth review. I’m 48 with 4 years of mountain riding experience and a few decades on snowmobiles in general. My wife and I both ride 800 Axys (SKS) 155 x 2.4 NA’s in interior BC. My wife has recently moved up to intermediate/advanced (in terms of getting through the backcountry efficiently but not crazy tricks like you do ha ha) and so I set her up this weekend with a 36” front end (from her original 39”) and a set of CFR Kersterke bars. These two mods have made my sled MUCH easier to ride.
    I might snowcheck this spring and am completely overwhelmed by the options. I think a 155 Khaos Boost is WAY too rowdy for me. I learned from motocross that I highly favour a settled, compliant, and predictable chassis and literally get anxiety when the machine behaves unpredictably, making it super hard to get comfortable and build confidence. We ride a mix of trees and open slopes, and our goals are to move effectively through the backcountry and explore new zones. That said, I am still very much a kid at heart and love to mess around attempting all the fun moves once we reach those new zones. So I guess I’m looking for the best all-around sled and am thinking about a 155 Pro Boost or a 165 Khaos Boost, I would also consider a 9R or 850NA, or even a Summit. Is there such thing as a sled that will behave and meticulously pick it’s way through tight trees, then become an animal when you want it to?

    • @brentcook24
      @brentcook24  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching! In my opinion the 165 Khaos will take trees somewhat efficiently, and still have some play. I don't know where you ride and what terrain you ride. For example, for me I ride from 10,000 to 11,000 feet on a regular basis and in Colorado we get super super deep snow. So for me a 9r isn't the weapon I want. I like the boost to help compensate for elevation. However with the boost you have a more "unpredictable" sled because you have more rowdy harder hitting power. I don't prioritize tree riding either I like to do more moves and stuff like that. For me if I was in your situation I would either do a 165 Khaos to maintain the playability and still have the float. Or the 155 pro. My buddy has an 850 pro 155 and I can still do all the moves I do on my boost on it. It is more predictable though. Boost vs 9r depends on elevation and how much power you think you can effectively handle!! I hope that helps!!

      @@brentcook24 I ended up picking up a Pro RMK Boost 165 from my dealer that was another customer's snowcheck they didn't take. I had a chance to ride this exactly sled last week and loved the thing. Couldn't believe how buttery smooth it was and the suspension was amazing. 10 times easier to ride than my current 2018 SKS 155 (800) lol. I’m going fast on racetrack with S1000RR M BMW and ride dirt a lot on KTMz. Snowboard fast, and now live next to Snow Mountain 12k and gotta get into this motor on snow thing. I’m getting a boost 165 Khaos as first sled. Hope it has enough power to satisfy 🤯

    Is the matrix chaos a lot more rowdy than the axis chaos? A lot of other TH-camrs have said the chaos is actually really good at everything just more maneuverable and fun.

    I got 9r in 165 and boost in 155. The 9r absolutely rips... and has lots of power. The boost (1)keeps going when I let off the gas, so I have to hit brakes to stop it. Also (2)when I slowly accelerate, it can bog and then go on its own a little more than I'm pressing the gas for... then it repeats if I'm holding steady at very low throttle. Doesn't hold steady throttle, it's the weirdest thing.
    Do u have these two issues? .... also I wonder if I messed stunting up cause at 7 miles I had to two a broken sled back with this. And Rev it up a decent amount and pulling sled idk

    How you gonna give “long term” and “reliability” “reviews” on something with 1000 miles on it? It’s a year old. Nothing has time to set up and fail yet. Show me a mountain sled with 2500-3500 miles on it and we can talk reliability and longevity.

      miles on a mtn sled is a decent amount in my opinion, to make a durability review. My guess is most guys are selling these things before they reach 3,500 miles no? I thought it was an excellent review@@ChaseLandMgmt 1000

    • @ChaseLandMgmt
      @ChaseLandMgmt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@skipheald7300 let me make it easy for everyone, the review was great. Calling it a long term reliability review… it certainly isn’t. The machine is new.
      A lot of guys sold the older 800 Polaris sleds at 2k miles of mountain riding. These newer 850’s both doo and poo have shown to be reliable far past that even in the mountain.
      So, that’s why I said, it isn’t a long term, reliability review. I want to see one with 4K on it and see what’s fallen off.
      His review was indeed good none the less.
