Gen 4 OU was probably the best metagame and was the end of what I’d dub “classic pokemon”. It really felt like gen 4 “rounded out” previous gens with the special physical split and adding new evos to mons from older games. While power creep was a thing with the new offensive items and what not, things felt relatively tame in increase of power when compared to each subsequent generation which just shot up exponentially. Gen 2 OU is arguably my least favorite. Even though I miss full EV’s tremendously cuz game freak keeps trying to make mixed attackers, I just hate how centralizing snorlax, zapdos and raikou are and the over abundance of leftovers and rest talk.
I quite like gen 2 because of the slow pace. Because of lax/Raikou/Zapdos's variability in sets you need to play slow, get the download, and do what you need to do to win. I think lax is overestimated a lot because of it's "unkillableness" but I think the best thing it has going for it is it's variability which is why scouting is so important. If you are able to find it's set it is much more manigable. Gen 2 is much more technical in a sense due to all of this, and I enjoy that. (You can dislike gen2 too I've had 200+ turn games of mindless double switches lmao)
Never played much Gen 6 Ubers but really loved Gen 7, for a lot of the same reasons you talk about in gen 6 Ubers. Arceus and all its forms make teambuilding very fun, feels like you can fill almost any gap. Groudon Primal was pretty centralizing but I somehow don't mind it, it can't chip heal and there's plenty of good ways to check it and deal with it, decent set variety too. In Gen 7 I love the addition of Magearna as a great check to Xern and Yveltal, and Z-moves added a lot of creativity. Z-Heal Bell was a cool option for example on Magearna, and Arceus being able to carry Z-Moves on different type forms added a lot aswell. Lunala and Solgaleo are also awesome additions imo. I will say Necrozma Dusk Mane was a bit stupid, a bit too versatile and good at disguising its sets I'd prob really like Gen 6 Ubers, I should give it a try
Z Geomancy has to be one of the coolest sets imo. Rainbow boost turn one, then geomancy turn two. It requires such careful positioning and play to be able to survive two defenseless turns, but it's so crazy strong. Also usually foregoes all coverage for longevity like ingrain and rest. One cool mechanic is that sleep talk can't call geomancy so you have much better odds to moon blast. Plus you can keep boosting with geomancy as intended afterward to become unwallable. I love gen 7 ubers. Z necrozma is another mon with sick mechanics, the fact it can do so much and completely turn into another mon at any moment w a lot of different checks is so cool. I also love zygarde and its form change. I often use a playstyle I dubbed "bulky hyper offense". It's HO but with mons that attempt to boost with offensive and defensive snowballing to become either unwallable or unkillable. Cloyster is a great sash lead for t spikes to make progress while you boost, and if the opponent tries to set up on it, it can shell smash back. Spin or spikes in the last slot. Then you use mons like sub coil glare/or double dance zygarde, z geo xern, bulky Pdon, necrozma dm, facade/roost mega mence, a screens user etc etc in order to set up while the opponent chips down from poison and turn into a big ball of stats. Super fun! Can do a similar playstyle in most OUs with stuff like demon mew, reuniclas, quiver dancers/calm minders/bulk up users, etc etc etc.

I started in BW2 OU, so that's probably always gonna be my favorite. While all the older players hated the power creep, I always liked that part abt it. It makes the games more fun to watch imo, b/c it's interesting to see how the best players dance around all the broken stuff in the metagame. I've rly enjoyed the Gen 4 Ubers content recently, b/c that meta has a similar feeling of having tons of powerful attackers, and you gotta know how to play around them, rather than having hard counters to everything. Also, Hot Fuzz is such a gem, easily one of my favorite movies of all time!
Gen 7 was a little over-hated. From gen 4 and onwards, you can be REALLY creative with strategies and made for some really fun times. Gen 3 is nice, but I don’t think Pokémon competitive got REALLY great until gen 4.
It's a bit in shambles right now since the Vullaby ban and the following Scraggy quickban (because that thing instantly became op as hell without a broken Flying type around lol), but it's still very cool. The rise of Koffing is so cool to see, how both Ponyta forms are viable in their own rights, seeing all of the priority roaming around between Grassy Glide, Mach Punch, First Impression, Fake Out, Sucker Punch and the occasional Aqua Jet or Extreme Speed (Zigzagoon is legit underrated in the tier, it's so easy for it to pick you off late game). This tier is insanely cool and I'd recommend everyone reading this to play it (or rather to wait a tad bit for the metagame to stabilize, right now Mienfoo is at +90% usage just because it's the best glue in a tier that's in restructuration, but I'm sure it will be sorted out in a few months at worst. if you know of any such schools, please send them my way!
Why does the thumbnail look like it's from Omori
How come when zf makes a risky prediction it's a "great move" but when I make one it's "zero skill garbage player go back to Roblox"

Soul control seems to really like mbv
I always loved gen 3 OU and UU the most, gen 3 was ths GOAT competitively for me even though it was the point where the games themselves started to fall of in my opinion.
Man, I really hate Gen 5 OU, there isn't a worse metagame out there! Gen 1 ubers
ADV OU
DPP Ubers
Oras OU
Oras UU
Oras PU
SM ubers
SM NU
SM OU
SM 1v1
The last one might be DPP OU for fun but I hate the mechanics before gen 6 and I feel like it’s really not balanced at all
the mechanics before gen6 ?

Worst Pokémon meta game: anything in gen 1
Depends on what your like or dislike in a metagame, everyone's got different tastes and finds different tiers more or less enjoyable. I like gen 1 UU a lot but its not for everyone.
@@shellnut8224 yeah im stating my opinion, not an objective fact
DPPt OU GOAT
free The Sprinkler
