To be fair, it's way more fun and interesting to watch someone try unusual things with their outfits, even if they don't turn out perfect! Sometimes you have to try some "bad" stuff to get closer to finding what you actually like
Okay but at the time you were styling these- you were that girl Alexa! I honestly loved the second outfit so much for its era, the pink hair the teal print dress with the dark floral corset,💅watching this is so helpful to identify some of the pieces in my closet that either need to styled back to life or rehoused. As always outstanding content ❤
@@LaLaChole8714 That was exactly my mindset too! The shirt and pants gave cute grandma-core but then the purple jacket just ruined it and hid the cutesy element of the shirt.
If the jacket was in a pastel purple it could have looked so good! I think the issue is it was too saturated for an outfit that's entirely pastel tones.
I would love love love to see you do one of these videos of outfits you wore in the past that you still love. Especially if they're considered to be "out dated" now. Or! And/or! How would you wear outfits you hated and/or loved now?
Long time follower and honestly I think half your outfits are totally insane and I’d never wear them but it’s just fun to see interesting things like these outfits
I love love love the pooh shirt and gingham pants together but not the boots or purple coat. I think it would look so cute with white keds and a white cashmere cardigan.
I thought I was the only one who hated elastic waistbands! They really remind me of pajama pants or sweatpants, which is not a vibe I'm personally into. I like my pants looking tailored. I also hate pants that look taiored from the front but have the elastic at the back. I will only tolerate this if it's an otherwise perfect clothing piece I really love, and even then I'd only wear it with a belt. Sorry for the rant, but I just feel so validated right now.
18:50 the right pink dress outfit looks amazing to my eyes!!! The collar, the dress, the belt, the mismatched socks and the cute bow shoes are amazing!
Had a big outfit learning experience recently when I thrifted some "over the knee boots" on depop (they were over the knee on the 5'10 Amazonian goddess I bought them from but very much thigh high on me). They looked amazing when I was holding my guitar, but the minute I tried to wear them outside... not so much. Truly a sign from the fashion gods that I need to start a band.
Completely agree about the purple and zebra outfit! I think it would have been a great maximalist outfit with a wide, cinched belt at your waist and a black cropped jacket, and something like a black ribbon necklace?
I love the way you talk about fashion! 🥰Some things are cute but just not your personal style and I very much relate to that. Personally, I adore 50s styles, dark academia, girly outfits, pastels and many more but I when I wear those things they don't feel right for me. Finding things that fit my actual style can be hard but I feel like when I started thrifting a couple years ago, I found it that it became easier to identify if something is my style and not just something trendy or someone else's styles.
I still like the blue jacket! My favorite dress from 2013 was a.. "vintage" shein (then sheinside) galaxy a-line dress. I wore it so many times and I felt on top of the world haha

What’s helpful is seeing your courage and creativity and maybe it’s dated now, but your creativity and boldness carries through!
You took me back to high school! Literally all I wore was leggings and V neck tunics (yeah) in the summer and skinny jeans with a long sweater (loved long tops back then) my UGGs and an infinity sacrf in the winter. My fashion choices were very mid 2010's.

I think the problem with those patterned tight was the pattern was too large and geometric. That makes them very hard to blend with any other pieces other than solid colors. If you ever want to give patterned tights a try again, try something with more curvy or abstract lines. Florals, paisley, swirls, tie-dye, etc. And smaller scale print.

The thing that I'm struggling with in this video is the sheer amount of waste you must go through in the number of trends you have to physically try yourself to see if you like/suit them. I can't get my head around how someone can be so easily influenced by what's 'trending' that they'd actively buy everything just to try it. Whatever happened to trying on things in clothing shop changing rooms? The waste, the waste. It's also screaming 'fashion victim' because it's clear you have absolutely no idea who you are or what you genuinely like to wear because you're constantly trying new trends. Just one woman's observation.
It’s funny how some of these weren’t that bad in the photo and then when you explained why you didn’t like them, I could see exactly what you were talking about. Like how cheap something was or the elastic waist band wasn’t as noticeable in the photo. Besides for the boo hoo outfit, that was clearly cheap. And the first outfit with the black ripped jeans: those jeans should be burned at the stake. While the outfit with the cami over the white tshirt and the maxi skirt, I think was really cute
