Say it louder! Every time I see those videos I feel such a negative vibe and I don't need that noise in my life. Homeschooling is hard enough. So grateful for wise mamas like you!

Such a testament of Gods Heart. He leads our steps by streams of living waters. Prayer is so vital in everything we choose for our family’s and ourselves. More eyes on Jesus and less eyes on what others are doing. 🙏🙏🙏.

Thanks for this video! Every family is different. Use what works for your family and your children. There is no need to be negative towards someone because they choose to use a certain curriculum. There are many different choices out there and that is the beauty of homeschooling. We all have the freedom to choose.

Yes! So true! We are to be respectful and kind and in this way be a reflection of God's love. Especially as Christian homeschooling moms we are to be an example for our little ones and others. 🙏💕💗

Thank you so much for this! So very true! We need to do better. We are all here to support one another. As homeschoolers, we are in agreement that ALL children deserve a quality education. The methods, styles, or curricula we choose may vary, but our goals are the same. Thank you for having the courage to say what needed to be said.

We love TGATB for our family! It’s so strange to think that I would have a strong opinion on what other people teach their kids. Aren’t we all, as loving parents, doing what we feel is best for our children? I don’t have any time to micromanage what others are doing! I just listen to God and what He wants for my family ❤ thank you for this reminder!

Wow. I don't know exactly what you're talking about, but I can imagine by some of the things you said. It is important to tame the tongue as well as the keyboard.
I recently heard about The Good & the Beautiful, about 6 weeks ago. The lady had so many good things to say about it. I haven't checked it out. But the name itself, I thought was so nice, because I had just read something powerful and inspirational, and the words "good and beautiful" were talked about much in it. Anyhow.
I would like to check out the two videos you showed here, and decide for myself.
I know this, as Christians, when it comes to sin, it is clear. But when it's a gray area. A preference or conviction, we must give room for others to, and for the Holy Spirit to lead each one of us.
Everything nowadays, is a matter of contention and a reason to be offended and give others a piece of their mind. It is so draining.
May God Himself fill those who are diligently seeking Him, and may He reward them with Himself- our exceedingly great reward. ❤

We started out with the good and the beautiful. My 6 year old son liked the songs, but hated the fluff. He mostly wants to get into the meat of the lesson. I loose him fast when theres busy work for the sake of busy work. We switched to Starfall and for math were doing easy peasy. He zoomed past 1st grade and is happily on 2nd grade math. My sister has been homeschooling for I think 9 years and really doesn't like the good and the beautiful, a lot more then us. Ironically we're of the same denomination as the creators of the good and the beautiful, but I still feel like it's just not really challenging enough, and the extra work is just less fun then intended and more kids spinning their wheel. My mom was a public /private school teacher herself in the 80s-90s before homeschooling us, and she had really mixed feelings after seeing my son struggle with it first hand. Overall, at least for 1st grade, we feel it talks down to and underestimates kids. It just was an awful fit for us

You have to be careful there, as Romans 14 says we aren't suppose to criticize other believers as we can draw them away from faith altogether.

@@leebug8568 but what if it's done in love? Do we not disciple and discipline "with a rod" if required? Think of Eli's sons and God's stinging rebuke to Eli. Appreciate your thoughts on this. I think Romans 14 is about non gospel issues.
